So who is up for titan hm tonight? All I all is a pact for any of us to drop out if we are having lag issues and thus dying. Also AK+ armor and ifrits weapon or higher. Basically enough to kill the heart and survive the stomps in phase 3 and not die as soon as we hit phase 3 over and over again

Clever. Evil, but clever.

Finally had my first taste of end game pug idiots..even though it was just one. The rest of the group was super awesome.

We did the final dungeon for the story and that one dragoon of course demands that everyone skips the cutscenes. All but two (the tank and him) are new to the dungeon and refuse to skip. So he keeps raging like an idiot.

He keeps deliberately attacking unmarked mobs and ignores the tanks marking.
He used the first elevator and clicked on the activator over and over so the rest of us couldn't get down for like 10 minutes..
He Started the elevator fight with 6 of us still in the CS.
When we wiped on Ultima Weapon because we had to learn the fight he refused to get raised and just lay there.

So we were not able to get replacment.
We did it with one DPS less but managed to end the dungeon without any additional deaths.

Joke's on him..fucking asshole..

Glitches are part of the game. It's the devs' responsbility to fix them. If they don't want people to use them, they can fix them. And particularly if players are part of a group that's doing it without realizing it and they continue and get punished, that's incredibly shitty.

Imagine if SE banned everyone who did AK speedruns before they fixed that.

To me, that's analogous to someone leaving their windows down, car unlocked, and a laptop sitting in the driver seat. The temptation and error is on the owner of the car, but it doesn't excuse someone who comes by and takes the laptop.

SE may be at fault, but it's still an exploitation.

Wanderer's Palace, a level 50 Dungeon

If you're a tank, enjoy Everyone's Grudge, LOL
Last phase 3K+ Damage... OW!

Each Tonberry killed stacks a buff on the boss which causes EG to do more damage, and the stacks are spent when he casts it. So the key is to have a DPS dedicated to picking off the Tonberries, but no more than 3 before Everybody's Grudge is cast. If you can do that, the damage is seriously minimal.

Modern Logitech build quality though not as good as it used to be :(

But Razer isn't much better...

"sn't much better"? Logitech's build quality is still leagues ahead of Razer. And costs less to boot.

The G600 definitely has a steep learning curve, especially if you want to make use of all of its features (G-Shift, multiple profiles). And honestly, for anything other than MMOs that use a million different buttons (e.g. WoW, SWTOR, FFXIV, etc), there are better options - even for GW2 (with far fewer buttons than most MMOs), I still prefer the G5 SE/G500. But once you get used to the G600, it's fantastic for that one specific use..

Well, last night I encountered both the best and the worst duty finder groups ever, since I picked up this game.

The worst was at Stone Vigil, which I hadn't actually intended to run. The healer wasn't bad, but one of the DPS let his equipment's repair level reach zero, and I frequently found them attacking different targets then the ones I was going after, and pulling aggro. On top of that, they were both Bards and frequently stopped to mess with status effects, whenever they did their attacks stopped entirely, between that and their under-specced equipment, I was actually out-DPSing the Bosses while tanking.

Now to be fair, its not as if I made no mistakes myself, but when the Tank is holding aggro on a boss consistently, and the rest of the party still ends up dying first, you know somethings up. Still, I did the best I could with that group, and even though we didn't finish the dungeun, it felt like they were starting to improve before it was all said and done.

The best group was at Cutters Cry. It was a nice social group, but despite save for bosses we didn't need to communicate at all to breeze through the dungeon. I'd mark the enemies, the mage consistently put the right monsters to sleep, and then I ran in there and used flash until I had aggro, and we'd all proceed to rip our way through the mob like a shotgun blast through toilet paper.

I only died once during that entire dungeon, during the first boss. I managed to pull aggro when the boss started spamming adds, and the healer wasn't quite able to keep up with the onslaught. I had thought the healer wiped right after me, so I went back to the entrance, only to realize that the rest of the party was there, with a boss that still had 40% health.

They still managed to win somehow, which is a real testament to how good this grouping was. XD

weird no clue why i said that. Was attempting to say logitech was still a bit ahead of razer... but my fingers disobeyed D:

I tend to use the side buttons of mmo mice more for productivity stuff lol. microing photoshop commands is hella useful.

Saw some discussion on first time keyboard use:

If you're considering making the jump, change the default movement keys from WASD to ESDF or WERD.

Your fingers will thank me later when you have easier access to qaz and tgb, and if you're just starting out you won't need to retrain your fingers at all.

That gear's fine for Haukke, but since you're 30 you might as well go become a Monk lol

Do you have Lancer leveled to 15?

Nope. I am waiting to get this dungeon down before doing the Lancer stuff. Maybe I should become a Monk first though. Would it help for Haukke?

Holy crap. Someone just healed me in a FATE. I knew there were myths...but to see in person. Woo.

happened to me last night on my THM alt I couldn't believe it either. Although when I was leveling cjn for my old that's how I got through fates.

Yeah I'm sure what people should expect. They can't just fix the issue with the snap of a finger, would you rather have them shut down the instance until they fix it or let it stay open and warn the players to not exploit an exploit.

BTW, is there some place in the game where you can buy or farm Mega Potions? Hi-Potions just don't do it for me anymore, and I need a back-up source for heals, in case the healer is in-disposed or non-existent.

Depends on how draconian they are going to be with detecting and punishing exploiters.

Perhaps it's the HEX variety...

I use one of these. But I got the League of Legends edition since it is matte instead of gloss and feels better in the hand.

Having only 6 buttons means there is never confusion on which is which and no worries of accidentally hitting them when repositioning the mouse.

Works great for this game as you can have 1-6, CTRL+1-6, and ALT1-6 all available on the mouse.

My left hand can be dedicated to movement and evasion while my right is dedicated to attacking and targeting.

Geez, there must be, literally, one person answering service tickets at SE. I started off as #31 in the queue and over 2hrs later I'm only up to number 7. The estimated wait time is a total lie too, it claims 6 minutes...

Also check for Elixers. Slighly better than Mega and they were actually cheaper than Mega on Balmung last nught

They'll powerlevel your character, as in take it over from you and use it to spam their site. Basically, you are paying them $200 to have SE ban your account, have your black listed by a bunch of people, and maybe have a level 50 character.

That's funny.. there's no "maybe." They absolutely do not have any way to powerlevel characters.

Wow.. so after sitting in the customer service queue for over 2hrs I finally get to the front and suddenly get told "Status: Cancelled, No agent are available to chat with you"... unbelievable.

I really like that lil tune you hear when you're out in the field in Northern Thanalan. Very ominous, wish it was longer than 10-13 seconds.

Man, I'm seriously considering picking up a cheap USB Keyboard for this. The dungeon's are not super intensive now, but I'm worried later on when I might have to talk more. And typing on the PS3 controller is one of the most awkward things ever (even getting to the typing menu seems ridiculously unintuitive). Of course, I also fear my actual control of my character will plummet since I've definitely never played an MMO proper on a keyboard, let alone any MMO before XIV.

Are there some PS3 pad warriors here who managed to get to the end-game just fine?

Not at endgame yet, but I'm a level 47 BRD (no FATE grinding, honest!) and I use the PS3 pad for pretty much everything.

I DO have a keyboard though, which I use for chatting. It's also handy for setting up macros, which I feel are necessary for us PS3 players as the available commands start to stack up and hotbar space starts to run out. And for quickly searching the Market Boards.

It's more of a quality of life thing than a true necessity. The DS3 should be fine for most everything, but any cheapo crappy USB keyboard will work find, and make life a lot easier.

what is this shitting stance... /sit?

really curious if gold farmers still make decent cash now that most mmos are least reliant on gold and leveling. Can you even buy respectable end game stuff from stores/markeplace with just gil?

All I can figure is people buy it to rush crafting jobs, buy materia and hoard for housing, because at lvl 25 THM/35 WVR I have almost 100k gil but nothing to use it on except more crafting.
