I think Smash Bros is too far away to give us any Directs. I don't think they'll be dropping more than 1 megaton per month this early. There's a reason why the snapshots don't often show new things.
I don't expect the news for the game to speed up any time soon. They'll be stretching out reveals as long as they feel is necessary. For all we know, this could easily be a holiday 2014 release... or an early 2015 release.

Nintendo is currently trying to get an X demo ready for eshop download. Has to be the reason why they're taking so long.Disappointed they still haven't announced a full Nintendo Direct.

Back to features in the new smash I would love to see (although will be highly unlikely) -
I think it would be awesome to have a mode where it is 2 or 3 stock default and you choose a different character for each stock.

It's such a weird thing for me. I think the facial expressions are fantastic (see the Mario characters) and there are some characters I still think look great (Mega Man, Olimar, DK, and Kirby stand out to me), but the focus on primary colors doesn't go so great with the textures, imo.
Yet I feel the opposite with those renders. Hopefully I'll come around when the game launches.

Plus he's one of those characters I keep seeing other sites and even a few IRL friends guessing he'll get the cut because he isn't 'relevant' anymore. I'm not into Pokemon but I thought he was a great idea and it'd be stupid to ax him after all the work that went into him for Brawl.
Pokemon Trainer's as relevant as ever with the inclusion of the Kanto starters in X/Y. Maybe not Red, but it's not like you were ever playing as Red.

I think it bears repeating that I honestly don't think anybody from Brawl deserves to be cut in the same way some of the clones in Melee were excessive and I'd accept SSB4 having less newcomers if it meant having all of the previous 39 (plus Mewtwo!) reps return.
I do fear that Ike and to a lesser extent Snake are under threat of getting the chop though.

I feel similarly. I like Ike, but I honestly liked Roy better. Ideally, I think everyone can agree there should be 2 FE reps.

If Star Fox after falling by the wayside Adventures onwards can get 3 reps, Fire Emblem which has only been getting bigger and has been around for over two decades can surely justify the same number.
I don't see any reason to put such a restriction on such a long running series, especially when it gained a lot of popularity with Awakening's worldwide release.
