The PSN demo for Beyond went up today, so I thought this would be a good thread for some impressions. Fire away!

guess many impressions will say the game is like Heavy Rain.

Downloading right now so it will take a while to actually play as I will work soon. smh.

What I played of the demo at convention was far above that (graphics and control wise). I thought heavy rain was so bad it was funny and sold it before finishing it, but I really can't wait to try this one.

Very pretty for a current console game. The gameplay is probably not for me, so far just seems like a movie where I move the analogue a little and wave the sixaxis. Haven't finished it yet, so might be different later on. Will see.

Still in the middle of a second mission/chapter whichever it should be called.

Theres a mini tutorial on the fighting system. It's very simple but it takes getting used to.

Graphically the game looks great, not in the levels of TLOU but surely better than Heavy Rain. It runs just as well.

As for the actual gameplay, its the same as Heavy Rain, but to my surprise to grabbed me emotionally in the first mission. I cannot recommend it enough to play it yourself.

I really liked the demo. I liked the way the controls on the right stick work. It's still QTE stuff, but there's no button prompts. You have to follow the movement of the character and hit the stick in the right direction. Story is definitely interesting so far.

Great to hear man, can't wait for that game.

Not to mention that it is absolutely gorgeous.

I haven't played Heavy Rain before but I'm really enjoying the demo so far. I'll probably be getting this at release. How is Heavy Rain compared to the demo, for those who played?

This download is extremely slow. Slower than the typical slow PSN speeds.

At least I can listen to the new Deltron 3030 album and play Fatal Frame 2 in the meantime.

Awesome, sounds cool, day one for me.

Movement is much more robotic in Heavy Rain since it doesn't use the stick. It's almost like driving a people car. It's also more blatantly QTE heavy. That being said, I really liked Heavy Rain and if you liked this I'd give a shot.

If you ignore some of the bad lines and voice acting, the game overall is really good and polished. Some of the situations they force you into are really painful and will grab you emotionally. A lot of people say its like a movie, but some parts of that plotline would only work in a video game. I wish I could explain further but that would spoil if you ever do play it in the future.

It's sad that games have actors names on the cover now.

It's fair considering that the game doesn't just borrow the voices but their entire likeness for the duration of the game. It's no different than Tiger Wood's PGA Tour 20xx or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, with the latter game having listing 10 skater names on the front cover. This isn't new.

is it, really? It's a legitimate marketing push considering their evolvement. Both are acclaimed popular actors and it could possibly turn heads, also 'from the makers of '.........' is also a eye catcher as with TLoU box art.

This is a game where the focus is on the characters and actors. Its not a new general trend just an increase in variety. Although I do agree that the developer name should hold more weight.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll pick it up down the line since it's so cheap now.

Controls much better than any other Quantum Dream game that's for sure and it looks great.

Could do without the black borders though.

How long is the demo?

Looks fantastic and runs so much better than Heavy Rain. All those pics used to demonstrate the detailed faces are accurate as well.

Really impressive stuff, though.
