I guess those "bullshots" were the real deal.

and finally the controls are way better then heavy rain in every way. (still interactive movie though)

Good thing i downloaded the demo, cause from no hype it's now a certain buy. :)
 
HoliShit at the graphics. We have come to this point haven't we? I still remember the day I wished I could play a game with graphics comparable to FFVIII dancing FMV. Now we have far surpassed that level.

Its the exact same demos from E3 and wherever else, didnt see anything I hadnt seen before, so unless you have been on complete blackout since day 1 its likely youve seen the demo gameplay

I loved it, again thanks to the user giving us all a head up on this. I cannot be more stoked on this game now, have to admit I was a bit sceptical at first but they really nailed the combat, and the whole Jolie/Aidenn mechanic. A bit stiff like Heavy Rain, but still miles better when it comes to the whole interactive part imho. More involvement in combat, funny possession mechanic and just all around a very pretty game.
 
not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed. when I saw the demos/trailers I thought most parts will be like heavy rain but now with Aiden there'll be some more interactivity mixed into the game. unfortunately, Aiden's abilities are still very limited to what you can do and which ones you can interact with. I thought, I could spill water on that woman in the test room or hit her with the wooden bricks, but nope, it'll shift the camera automatically. the same thing with the soldiers, I couldn't choose which one I want to possess and which one I want to choke, it really feels very limited.

I'm getting the game either way, it really looks great, the close-ups of the characters are impressive!

my game also went a little crazy and Jodie's skin turned stripey/checkboard'ish - her shirt also changed from plaid to camouflage - lol, don't know why.

that would seriously be too overpowered if aiden can just possess anyone, anywhere. there is no "life bar" that depletes or limits aiden's ability, makes sense to limit who aiden can control or choke.

also, you can choke the woman in the room, or knock the seat while she's sitting on it.
 
The only screen tearing I saw was in the trailer included with the demo.

Yep. The trailer uses some old footage. Final game should have no tearing.

The forest scene has two parts where it can branch off. It puts you into a different scenario, but the end result is largely the same. The final game will have 23 endings though, so at some point there will be hard decisions.
 
I don't understand the hype over interactive movies. I don't play games to watch cutscenes after cutscenes.

Good thing there's games for all types of people then right? You don't have to understand it,just know that it doesn't appeal to you.
 
I played through it once. First, yes the game looks great. The faces are much better than Heavy Rain's especially with the characters mouth movements and facial expressions. though facial expression can sometimes look a bit creepy still. I did see a bunch of glitches near the end of the demo like weird artifacts and Jodie completely disappearing in one of the scenes. Though everything else looked pretty fantastic.

I'm really not liking the controls for Aiden to be honest. Maybe I should have tried adjusting them, but moving around takes getting used to. I already much preferred Heavy Rain's QTE's compared to the right analogue stick being the source for most of the actions. I think it caused HR to be more intense in a lot of scenes. I just didn't get that intensity anywhere in this demo.

I'm probably in the minority who really just wanted another "Heavy Rain" with a better story and characters. I am still very much interested in seeing how well of a story they put together and how having big name actors and actress in it may have helped, but I'm not yet sold on the new gameplay mechanics.

yeah, I choked the woman. my plan wasn't to kill her, I just wanted to see if I could choose what to do with that bottle of water.

and I get the issue with limiting aiden, it probably would've worked if I had to strategically choose who to choke/possess. like it would've been better to attack the ones walking towards jodie instead of somebody way in the back.

it's a bit tedious to fly around looking for somebody with a different colored aura. :P

if anything, aiden controls are very simple. left stick to move, right to look around. it takes some getting used to, and because of the freedom to "float" it may seem odd, but it controls just like any other first/third person game out there, difference being aiden can move vertically freely.

right analogue stick for actions is so intuitive. no more looking out for button prompts during a fight scene, player just has to watch where to attack or where the attack is coming from and just press the direction. very quick and players at the same time can focus on the actions on-screen.
 
I like games like this, sometimes I want to relax and enjoy a story/atmosphere with convo options, stuff like that. Beyond, Heavy Rain, Walking Dead, a nice change to playing FPS/TPS/RPGS and Sports .
 
I liked Heavy Rain and I have no idea why, cause I hate linear moviegames like Uncharted and the new Tomb Raider.

Heavy Rain is nothing like Uncharted. There were ~20 different endings to Heavy Rain between the four characters. Heavy Rain allowed for the player to shape the story to a certain degree, while Uncharted is a completely linear game.

Here is the control scheme for people that are interested:

The quick turn and the ability to move up and down directly with a button press is very useful to get around quickly with Aiden.

Also here are some of the big things you can interact with during the final sequence of the demo causing a lot of destruction:

-Crush the clock tower
-Create a spark causing the gas station to explode
-Possess the SWAT snipers
-Possess the SWAT truck drivers and ram into buildings

Also keep in mind that if you want to interact with a living being (red=choke, yellow=possess, protect Jodie etc.) always move the two sticks inwards/outwards. If you want to interact with an object, pull them back and release. You can also adjust the sensitivity in the options.
