As much as I'd love to see Sonic next month, Pokemon will get the priority reveal.

Though there's a chance Sonic could instead be revealed upon Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games' Japanese release. God, that title...
Hopefully her Final Smash would be something other than a Landmaster. ANYTHING other than a Landmaster...

Awesome reference. Before being revealed as Toon Link, Wind Waker's Link was referred to as neko me Link in Japan, meaning "cat-eyes Link". I suppose that confirms that Sakurai is very focused on the characters he includes per se. Right now, WW/PH Link and ST Link coexist in the game.
Edit: Needless to say that Toon Link was one of my mains in Brawl (and likewise for Young Link in Melee). Totally expected him to be replaced by ALBW Link. Very excited to see him!

It's one thing to have NPC Toon Link on a stage and Toon Link playable... It's another to have a character playable who's also a move from another playable character.
I'm not sure Snake'll be back, especially with a new voice actor. In fact, I'd wager heavily against it. He's pretty much the only cut I'd foresee, especially since Nintendo bought the publishing rights to sonic for three titles. Maybe one or two Pokemon will be shifted for higher-profile ones or cosmetic alterations of existing ones. Would love to see Vaati, personally, as a Zelda addition. At least over a Tetra Zelda / Tetra Sheik.

Also, I want her to be like she is 99% of Star Fox Adventures, enclosed in a crystal, not being able to move or do anything at all. And if you play multiplayer and there's a Fox on the team, he is stunned because he has to stare at her boobs.
I really enjoyed the Project M take, making each pokemon their own character.
Squirtle is a blast.

Well, Toon Link's announcement actually shake the internet. There is no way that they would make Mewtwo as starter character unless we wouldn't get any secret characters due to two games being release.

It could be Pokemon Trainer. I don't know why they'd choose him to promote Pokemon X and Y, a game that has him nor any of his Pokemon in it. (Well, besides the fact you can get Kanto starters, I guess that's an excuse.)

What if Mewtwo was revealed and his final Smash was a completely random Mega-evolution where he could transform into either Mega Mewtwo X or Y, with X being a more powerful, yet slower attacker, and Y being speedy yet weaker. The final smash itself could use the rock formation we've seen in X and Y to draw in opponents, and then explode outward for the transformation reveal, so of like Pain's Shinra Tensei in Naruto.
Also, yay Toon Link, I love playing as him in Brawl, and Young Link in Melee.

Sakurai and his arbitrary traditions...
Mewtwo is a veteran and I would prefer that he treat the character as such. Save the real secrets for the unlockables, and put the likes of Jigglypuff and Marth in the starting roster, they aren't surprises anymore. But I will concede that if any veteran should be unlockable it is Mewtwo.

this reminds me about the great work done bt Aonuma team with WW gamecube edition, under Miyamoto supervision.
They spent TONS of time and resources in driving the facial expression of Toon Link, with the goal to make its feeling go trhough the tv screen directly to you (I still remember Miya speach about this being the "next step of videogame evolution after the 3d - Mario64 docet)
It was unnoticed back in the days from the vast majority of people (since the reveal to the release, than judgments on the style changed a lot) and will probably by unnoticed also in this case.

Wario Land Wario and WarioWare Wario are getting separate slots on the roster now. Donkey Kong Jr. will be joining the fray so will Prime Samus, Mario Bros. Mario, Adventures Fox, Game Boy Pit, Skyward Link and Mario Kart Mario. Wii Fit Trainer and Villager will be the only new characters. There are too many clones to make to bother with something as boring as a new character.

Agreed. Unless there really aren't that many newcomers this go round and he's trying to "stretch" out the announcements of them during development. I think if they add Mewtwo back for next month's X/Y that would be a perfect reveal.

Why those were good, zedla are almost always instant knock outs, and link can get a bunch of pople at once and lock atleast on in for a bunch of damage.

I'm so happy he's back, clone or not. He does massively outdo regular Link in every way, but it's nice to see his inclusion again, especially since he represents a third of the titles in LOZ's library, and that world was never just done as a one off thing.
He looks absolutely stunning in the new Smash artstyle as well so I'm happy to see they've only added detail where it may be needed, and not gone for anything ultra-realistic again.
Also, two character reveals in a month, hopefully things are speeding up. For next month I would bet on Pokémon Trainer or Jigglypuff as a starting character being revealed, and as people have said Zelda making an appearance to coincide with the 3DS Zelda game.
I don't like them. Yes, they're good but they need to be at least a bit different. Toon Link/Link/Zelda have very similar Final Smashes.
