Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Bored at work.

It's kind of weird to see Toon Link considering the character is also in the background of a 3DS stage:

If you want to get snooty about it, this "Spirit Tracks" Link is not the same as "Wind Waker / Phantom Hourglass" Link, but eeeehhhh.

+ That Toon Link is full on DS polygons! The difference is fine.

I'm sad that Toon Link seems to be a Link clone again.
I was expecting some Wind Waker related attacks, the Leaf should be used for floating and like FLUDD attack

So, since Toon Link shows up in both the Spirit Tracks stage and as a playable character, does that mean that Ridley won't be deconfirmed even if he is a stage hazard in the Pyrosphere?

Come to think of it... was it actually a different Ridley in Other M? Because of the whole
babby furby ridley and shit

Also rather disappointed that Olimar, Peach, Luigi and Toon Link have been announced but haven't been shown with any gameplay yet. It's probably too early, but I'd love to see the equivelant of the Wii Fit Trainer and Villiager reveal stuff for each character.

Hello people! This is my first Gaf post. I'd like to share with you something I casually came up with in the last few days.

Speaking of new characters in Smash 4, I think after Wii Fit Trainer and Villager each of the main Nintendo series has an iconic rep in the roster. But... Mario Kart is obviously not included, since it has no original characters. Still, it's one of the most successful Nintendo series.

So I thought, what about adding the Kart itself? Not as an actual character of course, but as a special item which, when any character rides it, gives it new stats and an entirely new Mario Kart-based movepool. You'd get a speed and powerful "character", maybe with some tweaks based on who rides it, like its weight; maybe you had to build it, like with the Dragoon in Brawl (as a reference to MK7, where you build your vehicles); maybe if you use the Final Smash while on the kart, it would be the blue shell...
I think this would be the perfect way to acknowledge Mario Kart in an unique way, giving the series the credit it deserves.

Can't wait to see Ridley riding a kart...

Welcome! I just got access and started posting recently as well. I got a nice warm welcome and wanted to pass on the sentiment!

I really like the idea of it being an item that you get control of for a limited amount of time (longer than the hammer but same idea) i'm not sure they would invest the time in it to make it have unique attributes for individual characters but it would be really fun (control similar to wario's bike but without being able the be knocked off)

Welcome to NeoGAF, Goldensun_it and voltronbadA :). It's dangerous to go alone on here, so, take this!! ;)

You know who I wouldn't mind seeing included? Chase McCain. Could work quite well from a gameplay perspective.

Granted he is rather new on the scene, but the games are exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

I'm Smash GAF, and I assume movesets based off of a few screenshots. I so smart.

The shots we've seen clearly show he still has bombs, arrows, and the spin attack right? I think it's a pretty safe assumption that he'll have the same moveset he did before, unless they decide to drastically change his A button attacks.

I've always wanted him to have his leaf as an Up B to glide, or as a side B to blow people away (like a burst version of fludd). :(

I ... don't know anymore!

While I'm happy to see veterans returning, I hope he gets a different moveset...

Now I need a new VIDEO c'mon Nintendo!!

I don't know why so many people were expecting Toon Link to be cut when Zelda is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. I'm glad to see him confirmed so early.

Endgame Samus is packing more heat than some small countries.

Good call. Most her her arsenal is weapons though. I'd say link has more 'utility' than her, but she can probably achieve more with her grapple/screwattack/visors than link can with all of his items combined.

Look like he got same moveset as he did in Brawl. You can see his spinning sword attack, bomb and arrow/bow.

New video's are reserved for newcomers. Veterans aren't getting any.

Yeah, That's what Sakurai said, right?

It has been done.

SOOOOOO CUTEEEEEEE!

I'm very pleased he's back in the game. I felt like they may have cut him and made Link a culmination of both characters from Brawl. Maybe everyone is returning...? I hope.
