Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Played some Katamari last night before bed. Never played a Katamari game before but this is some weird stuff, haha. The king dancing in a skin tight suit with a huge bulge... weird.q

Even if PSO2 came over SEGA might pull a Project Diva and screw over Vita players again, I'd just play the Japanese version or give up at this point, personally. :(

i played the jap. version with the english patch on PC, really great game, especially when you got hundreds of hours into PSO on DreamCast/ GameCube/ PC....

PSO2 on the go must be heaven!

Had my PSVita about a month now, and been loving the games available on it. I've nearly finished Rayman Origins, which is great, and plenty of Super Star Dust and Hotline Miami. Awesome piece of kit, great purchase :)

Once I've completed Rayman I'll move onto Gravity Rush.

Very disappointed by sfxt, as expected i don't like sfxt because i'm not a fan of both series, but i thought that i could do some matches with my lovely lili, but she has no "wheel" attacks! WTH! They are my favorite attacks and a big reason why i like her!
Today i'll play a little more but i think i'll delete soon.

Ot, but man giana sisters become hard really quick if you want 5 stars!

MarvelousAQL doesn't care that PSP turns 10 years old next year http://t.co/P6Xfg9TYqY
It looks really cool! But i'm not into this kind of games lol.

So apparently Curse of the Great Curry God is not only getting a special edition, but it's been moved up from 2014 to the end of this year.

Alright fine top of the page. Killzone Mercenary, Atelier Meruru Plus, Lone Survivor and get hyped for the Warriors games.
Great news! I liked the demo and now i'm waiting for it! Lol at the limited.

Bad news today Vitabros

Well probably not for most of you... But Marvelous AQL is shutting down Grand Knights History servers.....

Basically making it a non game. Very Very sad for such an awesome game and almost guarantees that it doesn't have an overseas future

My only hope is that Vanillaware revisits it and makes a Vita sequel someday

Man, they really didnt change the Katamari formula at all lol. I loved the first game. I really loved it. Touch my K feels a lil... boring.

What's the problem? Isn't gkh a single player game? Why shutting down servers would make it a non-game?
Anyway too bad we didn't get it...

The offline portion was only half of the game since it basically a way to train soldiers for the online war.

Where the whole meat of the game lies

Get KZ. The multiplayer is infinitely playable. Do it for more AAA Vita games!
If I expected to play a lot of MP that would definitely make sense, but I'm not convinced I will. Leaning towards Dragon's Crown at the moment.

I should point out that I'll eventually get both, I just don't want to buy them at around the same time.

Atlus has teased a countdown site. It will reach 0:00:00 in November 24th. So there is a fairly good chance of seeing Persona 5 or a new Persona 3 port.

Or both!

And I meant to say "announcement." I edited my post. Sorry, I'm not used to being awake this early. :\

Persona announcement November 24th, day after Persona 3 movie premieres!

itshappening.gif!!

Eherm... what exactly is happening?

Unless I'm missed something, all I see is Persona. I mean, is there anything at all that hints something coming to Vita?

Hope is the best spice for despair. Don't do this. :(

I was disappointed at no Shinovi Versus 2 at Sony Press Conference 2013 coz the awesome man Takagi tweeted "it was around this time last year that Shinovi got announced" a few minutes before the live stream.

Edit: LOL at Yoshida Shuhei's retweet at the Persona news and his latest tweet.
I'm a Persona fan, so I retweeted. It doesn't mean that I know something about the announcement. ( ̄ー ̄)

Don't get your hopes up for a Persona Vita.

If it's both, they'll probably just release a P3 in Vita and P5 in PS3. That way they can follow their usual route: Homeconsole > Portable port. 90% of their potential buyers are a bunch of fanatics (myself included) that will double / triple / cuadruple dip the game without even worring.

Though they usually deliver a ton of contents in their ports. FES, Portable and Golden added a good amount of content to the vanilla versions.

How bad is this guys?

I've been wanting a white vita forever. I've also been trying to get my buddy to purchase a vita.

Opportunity comes up where I can get a white vita for a decent price. What if I sell my vita to my buddy and purchase the white vita? I'd probably toss my friend a memory card for helping me out anyway.

I'm totally doing this if I get the chance. I want an limited edition SS pack but I can't justify getting one right now.

well, like...

if my friend gets a vita, he's happy right?

but then he sees my white vita and he's probably going to figure it out, I assume. I suppose the best bet is to be forthright with him about it.

But there could be some envy there, ya know
I don't think your friend will be envious of your downgrade to a lesser color.

I bought the Asian R3 version of KZ: Merc, but the online community in SEA for the game is pretty much dead. Hard to get into a public game. :(

I can't stand the finger prints. Even though my son has his own, he always wants to play mine (PSN +). You wouldn't believe how gross a 4 year old hands are.

lol

it's bad. it's like slimer from ghostbusters swallowed it and I have to wipe the ectoplasm off the thing so I can play

Do fake Vita memory cards exist? I see someone selling a sealed 32GB card for ~$60. It's on a trading site I usually frequent, where people post items for sale/want to buys then meetup with each other. He's no retailer, been a member for well over a year and has 20 positive feedbacks across his membership period with no negative feedbacks.

edit: Looking through his feedback/item history, this isn't the first time he sold a 32GB for cheap. He even sold one for $55 a few weeks ago but as used.

sounds legit. you can get a new one for like $80 right now so the offer is good, but not too good where I'd think it's fake

Sounds reasonable, I bought a used one from game stop for like 55ish, so 60 for a trade like that doesn't seem out of the ordinary.

Like a point and click if you could actually walk around and look at things/pick things up with normal 2D controls. Hold L for some inventory shortcuts. I haven't gotten a weapon yet, but it's R to brandish and I'm expecting it to work fine. It really is 2D survival horror when it comes down to it... no jumping or anything that makes you especially capable. Threats aren't dealt with via QTE's. I'd say it's more interactive and more "gamey" feeling than something like Telltale's Walking Dead, despite 2D seeming simpler by nature.

I gotta go on Near and see what it's like. I was down in the middle of nowhere in Kansas for about a year, and even that number started to grow by the time I left. I'm in Denver now, and I think I checked once... way more nearby Vita owners, obviously.
Awesome, thanks for the detailed explanation. I think once I complete Rayman Legends, I will pick it up for sure.

And I would be curious to hear about the NEAR results in areas where it may seem adoption would be low. Almost seems like it could be an interesting thread on its own. Alas I am only a Jr for the past 3 years LOL

Even though PS Vita sales haven't exactly been fantastic, we do notice on CVG that a lot of people who own the handheld swear by it. How crucial has that positive owner feedback been for Sony?
Oh yes, I mean, if that wasn't the case I think we would have good reason to lose confidence in the device and shelve it. We're nowhere close to that decision now.

There has been great positive feedback, but I want people to know that we do listen intently to the negative feedback too. We understand the drawbacks - it's a bit expensive, also people expect multi-functionality on high-end mobile and portable devices, the content is expensive and a lot of people are used to getting free or cheap apps.

I don't know if I should feel good or bad that it was this bad...

So I've decided not to get FIFA 14 on the Vita.

As much as I want to play a football game on the Vita, I won't support a product that's been essentially the same game as previous years.

Glad to see them speaking so candidly about it. Funny no mention of those memory card prices, though, lol..

There is no superior white Vita, all White Vita all look like chinese knock-offs of the original thing.

now white Vita 2000 will be like a knockoff of a knockoff.

Hahaha! I hate white, too. Imagining the Cheetos fingerprints...

The dedicated fan thread made me feel quilty for relying too much on PS+ :(

I need to do something about it! Any recommendations for some fun 10€ games? Or do I need to cough up some more? Thats what I have left on PSN wallet ATM just waiting to be spent.

Velocity Ultra and Hotline Miami are must haves.

I've had my vita for almost a month now and have got through part of the ps plus backlog so I think I will post a few opinions on the games I've played.

Uncharted - Great game, annoying touch controls at times and the shooting I found a bit tricky but otherwise excellent.

Gravity Rush - Another great game but with annoying controls when you have to deal with larger bosses

Rayman Origins - The best platformer I have played, the levels which lacked music were lowpoints though.

Sine Mora - A fun bullet-hell shooter, but not something to spend hours on.

Tales from space - A great platformer with some really enjoyable levels, almost as good as Rayman

Thomas was Alone - An okay platformer, lacked the atmosphere of Rayman and Tales from space though making it a bit dull.

Lumines - a great way to spend half an hour of your time, great songs too

Jet Set Radio - I did not enjoy this at all, deleted it after 1 hour of gameplay.

Cocunut Dodge - A good game but something I would expect to play on a phone though not a console albeit a handheld one.

Unit 13 - from what I've played it is an enjoyable third person shooter, ideal for gaming while travelling to work

Wipeout 2048 - Another game I didn't enjoy, I tend to find racing a games a bit boring so it's not really a genre for me.

I think I will probably buy some software now, Hotline Miami looks really good as does Killzone. Persona 4 is a game people mention a lot when reading this thread but I played Ni No Kuni so I amn't sure if JRPGs are my thing so might pass on that one for a while.

JRPGs are not for everyone but P4G is totally different beast from Ni No Kuni.
