I'm thinking it's a distinct possibility though personally I would much rather get a Zelda stage from a game that has not had a stage based on it yet, like A Link to the Past, especially not one that just had a stage in the previous Smash.

With Toon Link in here, and the release of Wind Waker HD, I've decided: cut TP Ganondorf from the game entirely, and introduce WW Ganondorf as a brand new character with a brand new moveset. All sword attacks and energy/magic blasts. There's no reason we have to consider "Link" to be the main canonical Link, and give him people to fight against. WW Link and Ganon can be the dream team.

..then throw in Tetra for laughs.

I am not anywhere near as sure of Sonic's chances than most. We have no precedent going forward for how Sakurai feels about returning guests. I would not count him in yet at all.

EDIT: Concerning Toon Link, I am a little disappointed that he's still the TWW version. I was still hoping against hopes that they'd change him to the ST version, mostly just because I would really like to see a Toon Zelda that can transform into Phantom Zelda, but that isn't happening with TWW Toon Link. Shame, I find the idea of a Toon Zelda/Tetra combo to be comparatively incredibly boring.

I feel like Links moveset needs to be expanded upon. In Brawl I was hoping WW Link would have some unique moves (using the WW baton) while TP Link would be able to transform into a wolf ... but so far its all been very basic stuff. Hopefully this will change.

I haven't played Skyward Sword but did watch some cutscenes recently. How would everyone feel if Zelda was given her SS look, and Sheik's moveset was adapted into Impa as a seperate character?

I'm 90% sure that since Link is practically his TP design, Zelda will stay the same, Sheik intact, but I guess it'd be a nice (somewhat lazy) way of implementing a new character from the series, who has multiple appearances, and embodies the Sheikah.

Because SS Zelda looks and acts like a whiny kid I very much doubt her making an appearance or fighting, but it's something to think about. Sheik also appeared in OoT HD so she's fresh in our minds, and any newer Nintendo fans will also be somewhat familiar.

I despise nearly everything about Skyward Sword, so I'd rather not have any characters be represented from that. They should just continue with the TP/TWW character motifs, imo.

I could imagine a very interesting playstyle if Realistic/TP got Wolf Link form. Could be very neat.

The Smash 4 color palette will make all of Marth's blue really pop. He will look glorious.

I'm of the opinion that just because Sakurai's revealing some characters to tie into a marketing push for various games doesn't mean those characters, formerly secret, now are starters.

In fact, I'd be surprised if he isn't sitting on some secret characters that haven't been in any prior Smash games, and doesn't show them off at all until the game's been out for a bit. Luigi, Toon Link et al are fair game since they're veterans.

That is how it should be done. Toon Link should be a starter, he isn't a secret, and is now an official veteran. Why does he need to be unlocked?

To be fair, Toon Link lends himself to being a clone more than say, Ganondorf. I hope they change Ganondorf a lot, and judging from what they've done to Bowser it seems like that will probably happen.

Ganondorf's moveset will stay the same but he will now have racing stripes on his clothes. Big time change.

First two are self-explanatory. WW Ganondorf is brand new, fights with swords and magic, replaces TP Ganondorf. Finally we have SS Impa, which has a tweaked version of Shiek's moveset.
