Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

I've thinking, what are all the things we haven't seen yet in the screenshots.

Ex: The galaxy stage, Ridley appearance, Both Links on their boomerang, Kirby hats. Etc.

No no, I've never even seen you posting that.

Was talking about the Toon Link thread and the various posts about "slot taken by Toon Link? Ugggh" and the equivalent of that.

Oooh, that type of talk. ^^? Hehe.

Sorry.

If you mean the Battlefield stage, then yeah. You can even see the grass blowing around in the Developer Direct video.
Must have been one of those details I forgot about. It's a cool detail. Kind of good to rewatch that vid as a refresher.

Completely unrelated to that; I still had the Toon Link render file open from yesterday and I was playing around with colour combinations (Which resulted in things like this Akari from YuruYuri recolour) and remembered an old idea I posted before that I still think could be a cool addition. The ability to make your own colour scheme for characters but just selecting colours for select zones. Think of it a bit like the outfit maker in The Last Story if you've played it. I know Sakurai said custom outfits wouldn't be in the game, but a custom colour scheme could be a nice alternative to make a fighter your own.

Don't worry I recently got a green N64 and two Rare games... lol

Also I got the DKC trilogy that I need to get to...

I hate youuuu. D:

SHOULD OF LIED. Nah, i'm kidding. Your avatar's pretty cool anyway, so grats' to whomever made it for you!

Need a nickname for you now.. :D

Thank you. ^^ But sadly it will go soon, for my new avatar! :)

A nickname? For me? :o

All these avatar changes are CONFUSING ME!

Heh. You actually made me realize how many people changed their avatars.

Speaking of jabs... I always took them for granted until recently. Wolf's jabs are pretty good, and when combining with cancelling it makes it great. I always like using Pit's too, and Marth's can be a good "get out" attack to get them into tipper range.

There was a Toon Link in the color scheme of Link to The Past, right? I must find it.

Toon Link really had the most thoughtful alt colors. All the Four Swords recolors are there, an NES Link color, and Shadow Toon Link. Awesome.

Everyone else just had random color changes with an occasional good one thrown in.

Sorry.

Any final smashes, Ridley as stage hazard, Galaxy (I still think it's Battlefield), Kirby Hats, Villager moveset, Pokemon Trainer (in two weeks), 3DS stage (Pokemon)

I guess we might get Sonic for Direct next month.

I wish people would stop referring to characters getting in as a "slot".

You better hide.

I agreed. if Toon Link didn't get in then I seriously doubt that anyone would get in to replace his place. Basically, we will lost a slot.

Sakurai did give reasons for all the schemes in the past, at least for the N64 one, on the website. I'd like it if he did the same thing again for the rest of the cast.

Yeah, she was randomly chosen.
She was revealed for the anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. (her debut), so I don't think it was entirely random.

In case anybody's interested, here's a list of everyone else's Japanese first appearances:

Wario - October 21
Yoshi - November 21
Captain Falcon - November 21
Sheik - November 21
Ganondorf - November 21
Diddy Kong - November 26
Ice Climbers - January 30
Zelda - February 21
Falco - February 21
Jigglypuff - February 27
Pokémon Trainer - February 27
Meta Knight - March 23
Marth - April 20
Ike - April 20
Lucas - April 20
King Dedede - April 27
Wolf - April 27
Mr. Game & Watch - April 28
Zero Suit Samus - May 27
Snake - July 7
R.O.B. - July 26
Sonic - July 26
Ness - August 27
Lucario - September 28

Man, Brawl Toon Link looks so weird compared to the likes of Wind Waker/SSB4 Toon Link, particularly the weird semi-detailed hair with washed out colours. Looking at that picture of Toon Link alts just reinforces how amazing, bright, and colourful this game is.

I remember someone in this thread earlier this week had a pretty well-detailed schedule for character reveals. Seemed pretty legit to me.

Were people worried inbetween Sheik and Zelda's reveal that Zelda was cut? That certainly looks like a long time between their reveals

That's just when their first game came out -- obviously not every character is going to be revealed according to that list.

I could see Ice Climbers, Zelda, Jigglypuff or Pokémon Trainer, Meta Knight, Marth, Dedede, Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B., and Ness being revealed on their anniversaries, but the rest are a bit throwaway in comparison.

Alright so I just watched the developer direct with my new headphones and near the end when they were showing random fights I could clearly hear the music in each stage, including the wrestling/boxing stage, the wii fit stage has a weird song playing, probably from one of those wii fit minigames, megaman stage has the wiley song playing, the skyward sword stage has the main theme from SS playing, not familiar with the AC music, but the boxing/wrestling stage, had no music playing, infact it just had the crowd cheering and nothing else, this seems pretty weird to have no music playing for a stage they wanted to show off, and probably anticipated someone to pay attention to this, this could mean 1 of 2 things, they havent gotten done with the music for this stage yet, or they're intentionally hiding the music for this stage.

Do re-purpose and regurgitate.

For your reading pleasure.

So I just thought about the reveal schedule.

Imagine the game releasing on November 2014. Sakurai might want to save some reveals as secrets until release. Let's say the game will have between 40 - 45 characters. Now, from October 2013 to November 2014 is 13 months of information. We have 16 characters revealed already. This month we had to reveals and I think that trend can be held until release. If that happened, we would have 42 revealed characters before release. But I guess we could have 3-5 months with just one reveal by Q1 next year. If that happened, we would have aproximatedly 37- 39 characters before release.

Next year is going to be interesting with Nintebdo release, since we don't really know much about WiiU and 3DS software so far, just like 4 Nintendo games on each console. That means we could have like 3 or more exclusive game reveals for each console for 2014.

Yoshi is going to appear next year in two games as the main character: Yoshi Yarn and Yoshi's Island. Plus he will appear in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Golf 3DS. And there might be another Mario game (Mario Strikers U?) and maybe DLC for 3D World including Yoshi as a character/power up. So my guess is that next year is going to be the year of Yoshi.

Now, with those things in mind, let's look at thepossible character reveals.

November:
Pokemon Trainer
Zelda

December:
Diddy Kong
Sonic

January:
Yoshi (because year of Yoshi)

February:
Captain Falco

March:
Wario (MK8 release?)
Ganondorf

April:
Ness

May:
Bayonetta (2 release?)
King Dededee

June:
Namco character (E3)
New character (E3)

July:
Marth

August:
Lucario (or Mewtwo) (Pokken release or something?)
Zero Suit Samus

September:
Falco
ROB

October:
Meta Knight (Kirby game release?)
New character (Nintendo direct)

November:
New character (smash specific direct)
Snake

Oh man, are we gonna make date predictions?
again

qq, I like Kirby and all but the only Kirby game I've ever played was that Mirror one for the GBA.

:3

That is the only Kirby game I thought was terrible

and Dimps was involved

aka the fuckers responsible for every nintendo handheld sonic games + Sonic 4 (and they only managed to make like... 2 or 3 good ones)

FUCK DIMPS

November 21st is the anniversary of Super Mario World and the 23rd anniversary of Yoshi.

November 21st is the anniversary of Smash Bros Melee (12 years)
December 2nd is the 7th anniversary of Wario Ware
December 10 is the 12 year anniversary of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the first Sonic game on a Nintendo system.

I don't know, just something to think about
