just cant get over how pikachu and kirby looks in this game, this also extends to megaman's "clothes parts" and a bit of the villager, dont know what sakurai/namco used but they just look really good.

Donkey Kong and Bowser kinda have a King Kong and Godzilla thing going on in that picture. They look like they can destroy Smashville just by walking through it.

No joke, the forums I frequented back during the Dojo usually dissolved into enormous flame wars with people threatening to kill each other over character preferences and the like. It's easier to engage nearly everything with some level of playfulness in these contexts to avoid some of the vitriol I saw people far older than me throw at each other over what fictional nintendo character would get in a fighting game or not.
SSB4's GAF thread is downright pleasant in comparison.

Part of me's disappointed what with Mr. Wright being an assist in Brawl that there wasn't an event mode that referenced how Bowser was a natural disaster that could wreck shit in the SNES version of Sim City.

Missed opportunities. I hope Wright is back as an assist trophy, with even bigger buildings.
Nintendo's Sim City is still my favorite version of that game. It's no contest. The music alone makes it superior.

Also once again this game's subtle focus on primary colors makes for a remarkably huuuuuuuuge difference in readability. Brawl looked great for a Wii game, but even those renders when all put together all sort of blur together and have this 'muddy' look to them. Only character who stands out looking better in that Brawl group shot is Samus really.

The Dr. Wright assist trophy should be even more devastating. Skyscrapers should emerge from the entire platform, and reach past the top of some screens. It should be a guaranteed death for anyone at 30% or higher.

Well apart from the pink hair the colours were based off of the art work rather than the sprite. If you want the colours to match the sprite (which is what I assume by yellow belt) here you go:

While I dislike Land/World getting an almost complete shaft in Brawl, it was still pretty cool that they had him in his Wario Ware outfit to instantly differentiate him from Mario.

When Wario was first revealed I was worried that he wouldn't even have his overalls. It was serious bizzness.
I'm just realizing the bottom one doesn't have the last 3--Jigglypuff, Toon Link, Wolf. And while both are leagues ahead of other video games in color palettes, I'm really loving Smash 4's first 15 in richer hues.For Comparison,

I didn't hear that Sakurai mentioned that. Do you remember where you read that?
I might have made that up, my memory isn't very good regarding this game but I feel like it was in an interview. I tried looking but was only able to find the article where Sakurai said it was stressful deciding whether or not a veteran would return. Well, the roster certainly couldn't be smaller right ._.

Cool to see toon Link back. Also at this point it's pretty clear they plan on showing characters when they have a new game releasing. So if we don't see Sonic for the Japanese release of lost world or the new Olympics game I'm gonna be sad and worried.

Wouldn't start worrying about that yet; they're drip feeding us pretty hard, I wouldn't expect any announcement that big until way closer to release. I don't expect any brand new characters until next year either. And if I'm wrong then I'll gladly eat some crow pie
But that picture does make me want to see Yoshi more than ever. He's the only one of the original 8 we haven't seen yet dammit
