Ha ha, I almost spit the yogurt I was eating while reading this. Don't ask me why. I said no questions !

By the way, did you get your refund for TW101 on the eShop?

Hey! I did get the refund. They credited my eShop account about 5 days after I communicated them about the mistake. It was very straight forward. They even called me on my mobile to tell me they had refunded me. :)

Meh. These directs are losing their appeal to me. What, are we going to see footage of the E3 games again? I'm tired of seeing Bayonetta 2, Pokemon, WWHD, SM3DW, DKCTF and third party game footage we know are coming. Unless it's about what the Wii U update is going to do or new games being announced its pointless. It's just a recap that could easily be done in a press release.

Some gameplay footage of X might be worth it though, or a new Zelda :p
Probably, just wait for the press releases then.

... you really don't get it. Nintendo Direct is a press release. Every other publisher maintains a blog where they release game assets. They cooperate with external magazine publishers and gaming sites to deliver assets and playthrough footage. They release press releases. That's what they do. Nintendo Direct isn't intended to be a MEGATON ANNOUNCEMENT CONFERENCE, it's intended to be the routine way in which Nintendo releases new information about games under development. The only reason anyone thinks different is because of F5 OMG BOMB ZEL DROPPEN LET'S GET UP AT 4 IN THE MORNING TO WATCH internet meme culture. Just because it happens to be streaming on its first-run doesn't mean it's supposed to be a live event spectacular.

You can continue expecting Nintendo Direct to appear every 4-6 weeks and offer footage and updates on games coming out in the near future combined with teases of far-off announcements. Just like other publishers do in magazines and on websites.

A large price cut and bundle in the UK is needed if they aren't to completely disintegrate in when the PS4 arrives.

Who on earth would rather get a £250 Wii U than a £350 PS4?

Choo choo!

Every Nintendo direct has given me something to be excited over and it's been awhile since we've had one not targeted at a specific game

Thank you! Nintendo Directs are fancy press releases, not mini-E3s.

Gameplay footage of X will always be worth it, man I can't wait for that game.

Hopefully with WWHD just about fully out, we'll start hearing about new Zelda (I hope!).

Oh, already confirmed for Japan as well, then. Usually, they announce them around 10 hours before the event, but this time they did the same in all territories.

A little hyped ;D

The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds - Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS Bundle!!!

I just bought a Wii U Zelda Themed Bundle.... They can't do this to me. The collector in me will have to buy it. *Wallet cries*

Should be stickied in every Direct thread. We get bombshells every now and again but that's no different to any press release. Nintendo direct is for announcements and roundups of everything compiled into an easily digestible video.

It's to inform us on what's coming up and what to expect in the up coming days and months.

We'll get stuff like X announced but it's pretty much the equivalent of a dev in an interview letting some info slip but in a controlled manner.

It's nice to get excited and by all means please be excited but don't moan if all they show is trailers of games we know about.

Hopefully the unified accounts system gets confirmed. I feel like there has been mounting pressure for Nintendo do something, especially considering you cant even do a Wii U to Wii U transfer. Thats unacceptable.

Can we stop this? The PS4 bundle that comes with a game, to compare to the £249.99 Wii U SKU, costs £429.99. Now, if you still think people are willing to pay the extra £180, that's fine. But let's compare A to A and not A to B.

I agree, hopefully we get something on a Wii U transfer tool at the very least. Especially now that they're releasing new bundles/limited editions of the console that people might want to upgrade/switch to.

Needs the spirit of old man Yamauchi smiling in the background.

that's it, NCL, NoE and NoA just announced the Nintendo Direct on Twitter. The Hype Train is now at the station : everyone should get on board right away!

Oh cool. I had to wait until Sep 2nd, but I now have 15€ on my account... perfect for The Wind Waker HD (and its crappy 59.99€price tag on the eShop : /)

Well, they often look better than E3, but it's sad to see how quickly people are to take some things for granted...

OMG! That would be BOSS!

Quoting because it's so true and well said. Good job mod.

*SNIP*
They now tweet about it exactly 24h before the actual event, so in 10mn or so.
Guys, listen to that fellow GAFfer. He know his stuff. ;)
