New Nintendo Direct Tomorrow [WiiU/3DS, games releasing later this year]

Other than Pokemon I don't care about Nintendo's holiday lineup at all but I will watch because I think the Nintendo Direct approach to delivering news is slick and innovative.

why would Nintendo show off shovelware?

Yes F2P Steel Driver is suppose to come out by March next year, it would be a good time to show it.

Probably nothing megatonish, but a new eShop game or smaller 3DS/Wii U game for early 2014 wouldn't be terribly surprising.

Wii Sports Club was announced in the Wii Fit direct, which wasn't even broadcast live.

I know it might not happen but I personally would like to see a special 3DS bundle for it. Being a sequel one of the more acclaimed entries in the series seems deserving of one in my opinion.

I've waited so much for a decent Direct by now that this does nothing for me. And the fact that they're holding an October Direct that isn't aimed to be a showcase for next year games is revealing for me. For a moment I thought that, you know, someone at Nintendo would think about showing upcoming games for next year to try and convince people on the edge regarding their holiday lineup, but that's too proactive for Ninty these days I guess. Let's wait 'til January then.

What is strange about them focusing on the games coming out in the next few months? They have lots to show between the Wii U and 3DS. Have some faith man, this direct is going to be awesome I can feel it. They will still do another direct this year, and more next year as well.
 
I'm not gonna be happy until they showcase a PROPER Super Mario title. Or a PROPER Metroid title. Or a new Star Fox?

They need to tap into them N64 days! Remember when you saw SM64 for the first time? Or Star Fox 64? BEST DAYS EVER.
 
If Donkey Kong is only delayed in America and Europe still gets it, I swear to God...

Oh and why the hell doesn't Nintendo stream this at night? When people are awake and not getting ready for work, or at school, or etc.?

they're trying to accommodate everyone globally

and if you're about to ask, why don't they just stream the NA one at a different time, then the answer is because the information is already out there, so it's pointless

You should just go back to the 90s and have yourself a time. 3D Land is about as "proper" a Super Mario title as you can get.

most people watch it at their own convenience on the eshop or youtube, only GAF and lonely jornos watch it live

yea, I'd probably "boycott" it if that was the case. Or in a less silly way to say it just not buy it because NoA thinks it's cool to delay shit for no reason at all while Europe is having all the fun.

Super Mario 3D Land/World are part of the mainline 3D Mario games, even if they do use 2D at times as well. It's a way to get those who didn't like the 3D ones to get into and hopefully get into the others.

One thing's for sure, at Nintendo they must have some aces up their sleeves.

Tomorrow they'll hopefully deliver with Mario 3D world, Sonic, Alltp2 and Donkey Kong country returns 2, but aside from Pokèmon X/Y 3DS could do with a few announcements - besides it seems very odd that there have been no big third-party announcements for 3DS at TGS - and Wii U needs more games, so if they're not going to announce anything new in 14ish hours, it will happen very soon.

That wouldn't actually big that much surprising. After Pokemon, ALBW is the last really big title for the 3DS this year. Ocarina 3D got a Special Edition, WWHD got one, I don't see why ALBW wouldn't get one.

Of course, that would force me to buy another 3DS.
 
Things I want that are (sort of) realistic:

-Nintendoland DLC
-Monster Hunter 4 localization (with possible WiiU version)
-WiiU system update with account system
-More New Super Mario Bros U DLC
-More VC games
 
Not expecting much from this direct, but an update with a real account system for the Wii U and/or a teaser for a future 3DS update would be cool for me.
I would like a Golden Sun I&II remake for the 3DS and MonHun 4 Localization though but that is not going to happen tomorrow.

All I know is the Wii U eShop is still under maintenance and has been all night.

3DS eShop working?
 
I'll be happy so long as we get a confirmation on the date for the "summer" Wii U update. Anything else will just be gravy.

Personal expectation and nostalgia can be a bitch to slog through.



I'm enjoying the timeline where I have PROPER 3d Mario games here and now :-)

Now about that Miiverse on 3ds Nintendo.......
