This game, this feature is so damn good *.*

So I guess the screenshot thing only works with games that have it enabled for Miiverse. I tried using it on Animal Crossing plaza and WaraWara Plaza but it didn't work. Hopefully all games in the future allow for screenshots.

I wonder if there is an actual technical reason we're not getting the Wii U pad to double as a Classic Controller... that's about all I really want now, for my old VC titles.

Question, when playing Wii games on the gamepad, if games have classic controller support, can you use the regular gamepad controls to play them or do you still have to plug in a classic controller?

The update is finally installed and all that good stuff. Loading games and apps is much snappier now; Even more so, returning to the Wii U Menu is a breeze. Settings still drags a bit, but it's not the snooze fest that it was previously.

I read people noticing new eShop music, but it sounds the same to me.

I dont think so, it recognizes the input and flashes a message.

I gotta feeling it will be in a future update.

I wonder if the wiimode will eventually get phased out.

Yes. The Wii U Gamepad sends inputs over WiFi, Wii Mode only takes inputs from Wii Remotes (and Wii U Pro Controllers/PS3 Controllers with Homebrew) over Bluetooth.

Trine 2. Also how is everyone posting those? I know it's somewhere in the thread, but the thread has gotten quite big quite fast.

You can post screens via the browser on Wii U now. Just need to go to an upload site, upload the screen, and share away.

Two other small details I've noticed:

- Downloads have a small, fancy "x MB / y MB" status thingy now.
- Icons for newly downloaded software have a flashing blue border.

playing wii games on the controller is pretty funny feeling. it looks great. i'm playing some mario galaxy.
I sorta joked about how at least we'd get a roughly native resolution display albeit a very tiny one, but once you get over the "very tiny" part it probably IS preferable to playing on the TV for some people. Granted the Wii U upscaling events the field considerably but I imagine some would still prefer something that's actually roughly the Wii's resolution.

i seen an option when i was logging in to have nintendo automatically download demos and software. that's brilliant. you know a lot of the casual players aren't going to want to fiddle with the eShop for stuff like Wii Sports Club. if it uninstalls those demos routinely and replaces them with fresh demos - genius.

Sent.

Sure. Oni_Link

The wording makes it sound like it sent a straight up friend request and doesn't mention any of the friend code-like stuff.
Worked! When I saw your post I went to the home menu, and the Friends List icon was pulsing. Got a notification saying I had a request, opened the list, it asked if I wanted to view it... Said Yes, tapped your name and accepted. Done.

So the pricture thing is cool and all, but shouldn't it be abstracted a level or two higher? With its current implementation you have to leave game, open the browser, go to an image host site, sign in, and finally upload the picture if you don't want a low-quality miiverse pic. On PS4 and Steam, you hit one or two button and you're ready to share.

There probably is. The pad uses proprietary wifi instead of Wii remote-style bluetooth.

The Wii innards don't speak pad language, and even if they did, it's likely that the pad is different enough from a remote that you could get some erratic behavior if you faked it.

Yep. Much less confusing than having it work differently on the Miiverse and the Friends List.

There's a new animation thing now when you go into the Miiverse or the eShop. While loading the miiverse, there is a globe with miis spinning and it shows the time in cities around the world.

Imgur doesn't require a log in btw.

Again, for anyone having problems with Imgur on their Wii U, use the mobile site m.imgur.com

But it recognizes the inputs?

Do you mean the "You can't use the Gamepad to control Wii Games" message you get if you try? The Gamepad probably does that locally, like how it can display the universal remote stuff locally.

Edit: I don't know if that message comes up on the TV too though. If it does, then it's probably a reaction to having any WiFi input then, which is certainly less complicated than taking in a conrol input, figuring out what it is, and associating it with the proper Wii input while always emulating a Wii Remote + Classic Controller Pro Bluetooth connection.
