New Nintendo Direct Tomorrow [WiiU/3DS, games releasing later this year]

I've sat through a lot of these, even joined a couple of hype trains, but I won't be roped in again.

Let me know when Nintendo joins the 21st Century.
 
So, there's no Japanese version? It's just for the U.S.?

Doesn't that bode not well, like, every time there's been an American-only Direct as far as I remember it sucked.

Oh well, maybe we'll learn Orotto's English name?

Things are definitely more towards "this shit is about to go down" route due to how large this update was, it's the Fall Update alright, but did anyone determine speed increases?

Surely this would pave the way for game-related surprises in the Direct? Nintendo IIRC never advertised 2013 games being unveiled in the last Sept 13th 2012 Direct did they? Commonly they shoot some bombs when they just la la la say they're SEEMINGLY focused on current games.

The Spring 3DS directs did this, no indication of new games, BAM.

Hell the Jan Wii U Direct was the ONLY ONE to mention NEW games didn't it?

Exactly. More proof that Nintendo is buying all of Capcom's old IPs.

...But more seriously, the recent price cut doesn't make too much sense unless Nintendo thinks their software right about now is going to be appealing. They're likely banking on Zelda and 3D World, but it would be a pretty good time for a new announcement, I suppose.
 
Maybe Monster Hunter 4 localization news would be possible. Anyone?

An actual screenshot tool that can let you upload to the web would be great. I mean the feature is in the note taking app but its limited to just that.

There could be, since Miiverse and the eShop are web-based, they don't need a firmware update to be upgraded, even if a new version would require a firmware update to work. (I.E. the update changed something in the OS that allowed it do something with the eShop, which can be upgraded later.

Well... Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was announced in a Nintendo Direct last year for US release. So it could happen. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.
 
Is the japanese ND also on available?
if not,i think its just the localization of games.

The fact that there wasn't a 3DS firmware update released at the same time as the Wii U one makes me worried that we won't be getting 3DS Miiverse just yet. I hope I'm wrong. They should at least acknowledge it.
 
I reallly hope we get some new great features on our WiiU, that this update prepared the system for... I just cant imagine this is all the update we get after a year...

Jan: Pokemon Direct (X&Y reveal)
Jan: Wii U Direct (including E3/Mario tease)

Feb: Nintendo Direct (3DS focus)

(March: Flipnote Studio mini Direct)

April: Nintendo Direct (3DS focus)

May: Nintendo Direct (Wii U focus)

June: E3 Direct & Developer Direct (you know what went down)

(July: mini Direct - Earthbound now on eShop)

Aug: Nintendo Direct

Aug-Sept: mini Directs for Pokemon, Wonderful 101 and Wii Fit U

Oct: ...


So this is basically the next big Direct, and only the fifth of the year so far.

Yes, the free game is buy digital download only and you have to register any two of the games for the campaign (not the same as the free ones) in order to get one.

The ones under Nintendogs + Cats are Culdecept and Calciobits, two of the very few games to have been published by Nintendo for 3DS and not have left Japan.

I think they will acknowledge it. It will likely come in November.

Thanks StreetsAhead and xxbrothawizxx63! Were those game both commercially successful? They look fun. Wonder why Nintendo didn't release it on the Eshop if a physical release would not make sense financially.
