Fighting Games Weekly | Sept 30 - Oct 6 | Hard Knockdown Life

The big problem is likely to be that Japan will be on the P4A expansion by EVO while the US isn't.

Yeah, the chances are very slim for even one to show up in my opinion. The region differences make it nearly impossible for two, but fingers crossed!

Hopefully P4A gets the same treatment as MK9 and they give it one more year before moving on.

I think that BB:CP is an easy include, and that an ASW game deserves a Sunday slot.

(KOF, Injustice, MvC3, SF4, Smash, BB:CP makes the most sense.)

A "Saturday Night Top 4/8" exhibition of smaller games like SFxT, Skullgirls and P4A on one of the streams would be a cool way to feature those games as well.

That's actually a really good idea.

I'm probably the only one that wishes they'd go with the 3DS Smash and not the WiiU Smash if the new Smash were to make it in, if only so I wouldn't have to get a WiiU. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time a portable was chosen for EVO (Mario Kart) but I guess that's an outlier anyway.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Ultra Street Fighter 4
Injustice
Guilty Gear X3rd
King of Fighters 13
Tekken Tag Tournament 2

No more Smash please. Fun to play but Boring as hell to watch, cant get into it at all.

EVO this year was great especially finals day but I miss the exhibitions and combo videos.

My perfect EVO would be

Saturday Night:
BBCP (I think Anime players would prefer playing that night rather than Sunday morning)
GG: Xrd or new Persona Exhibition
Something involving ST or CvS2 (seems like people are promoting heavy lately)

Sunday:
TTT2 or KOF13
Smash
Injustice
UMvC3
Combo videos
USF4

UMvC3
USF4
KOF
Smash

MvC2 dream match-ups. Something like Neo vs Sanford, Fanatiq vs Yipes, Clockw0rk vs JWong. Haunts controls the musical playlists.

I put USF4/Marvel/DOA5/Injustice/BBCP/Skullgirls

Not the 6 games I'd pick, but the 6 that should be picked

USF4/Marvel- obvious
DOA5- the most active 3D fighter at the moment
Injustice- still popular
BBCP- the latest Arc game released in the US should get in at Evo. I'd rather see P4C, but don't think that will be out
Skullgirls- deserves a chance to be official Evo game one time to see what happens.
If it has to be once then I'd rather it be SG2. Not that anything I like ever becomes popular for these things.

USF4 - guaranteed

MVC3 - guaranteed

New Smash - melee was so successful they'll be happy to risk this one

Injustice - still an active game with lots of entrants

BBCP or GGXrD - whichever is out

KOF13 - Always a sleeper hit with great grand finals and international presence

I'm thinking:

1. Not Killer Instinct
2. Anything but Killer Instinct
3. No Killer Instinct, please.
4. Killer Instinct? No thanks
5. Distinct lack of Killer Instinct
6. MK9 over Killer Instinct

Alternatively:

1. USF4
2. UMVC3
3. Injustice
4. P4A2
5. Melee
6. Tekken

I'm assuming GG will not be out and nobody will care about BB.

What I expect:

1. Killer Instinct
2. Halo 4
3. Gears of War 3
4. Fable 3
5. Forza 5
6. Umm, Halo 3?
+ Titanfall exhibition

Injustice
Killer Instinct
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle
Xuan Dou Zhi Wang
Guilty Gear Xrd
Skullgirls

MK9
MkDC
UMK3
KI1 that comes with the new KI
A competition to see who can endure repeated viewings of Mortal Kombat Annihilation

This is your EVO Wisconsin line up folks

With a list like that, Skullgirls is the game that drew your attention?

...or is that the joke?

We could do a movie-triathlon, first the Chun-Li movie, than MK Annihilation, and, to finish the last survivor off, the Tekken movie

Skullgirls will most likely just get a side tournament like the last two years. Even with all the developer support and new characters coming in, I'd be surprised if the offline player base gets substantially bigger. Top 4 on the main stage for some of the smaller games would be cool though.
