but wait this gerl has Frogadier.

Do we know what level it is?

It seems like they have really pushed hard to make the annoying parts of the game that led to people like me not finishing them much, much less annoying now. EXP Share and the early infestation/false swipe machines are greatly appreciated.

I honestly find this situation kinda funny

So that poster's an English speaker... Who is not a native English speaker... Who is annoyed that a non-English speaker leaked firs-WAIT WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN' ON?!

I just want to see the third evo of Chespin then I'm done for spoilers.

Oh, and Gen 2 = Gen 1 > Gen 3 = Gen 5 >>>>>>>>> Gen 4. Gen 4 was so bad it made me question whether I liked the franchise anymore.
It's difficult for me to talk about gens because the Pokemon designs and gameplay are both important for me.

I love Gen 5's Pokemon designs, but I hate BW's map design and lack of Pokemon variety, although B2W2 fixed that and are in my top three games. Similarly, I like the Gen 2 games (Especially the remakes that fixed a lot of the late-game issues with the originals), but I don't like the new Pokemon they introduced with a few exceptions.

The worst part of Gen 4 was the broken battle system in Diamond and Pearl; it was so fucking slow that Gen 5 and 3 seem like light speed next to it; even Gen 2 is faster. Later games in that generation fixed the problem, thankfully.

Someone that resides in Windsor posted in the /vp/ thread that he's driving all the way to the Game Exchange in Kitchener thinking that they'll leak the game as well. I sort of doubt the likelihood that this will be a chain-wide issue. Suspect this will be isolated to the St. John's store.

So no one have take fennekin cause it seems that we will see Chespin and Froakie full evolution tomorrow? (Well It's technically today in 8 hours-12 hours to go)

I'm glad to see Honedge will be available early; it indicates that we won't see a glut of Normal type moves at the beginning. As far as I can tell, the reason why we don't see Ghost types more at the start of Pokemon games is that they're immune to Normal and so many early game monsters will learn primarily Normal moves. Black and White went crazy with pidgeonholing you into using the monkeys (Which I didn't, because fuck monkeys). B2 and W2 were so much better.

Yeah. It's the weakest one too.
Whirlpool, Fire Spin, Clamp and Sand Tomb have 35 base power.
It has more PP though.

This actually probably hints that the other variations will have their base power reduced to 20, as well. Although there are some exceptions out there, usually move variants stay similar in power and effect and only differ in type, contact, and physical properties.

Regarding the leaks up until now: I like. Keep 'em comin'. Can't wait to see Chespin's final evolution tomorrow.

EDIT: Actually, Infestation might just be a variant of Bind, which also has 20 BP (but still 85% accuracy).

Actually, I can see moves like Fire Spin not having their base power reduced. The reason? Some of them, like Fire Spin, don't have perfect accuracy like Infestation does (Fire Spin has 85 accuracy in Generation V and possibly 75 in earlier Pokemon games).

But yeah. I'm very much anticipating the final Kalos starter evolutions.

PP doesn't really matter for a trapping move; you'll hardly be spamming them, especially one with an amazing 20 base power.

First another lame early-game lepidopteran line as our only known new bugs, then the type chart nerf against Fairy, and now this. It's like they're trying to compensate for actually making a bunch of cool and fun bugs last generation.

EDIT: Thank God, it's better than Bind. My Bugs are officially better than Brock's Onyx.

Gotta get back to that status quo before people get the idea that Bug is a real type

Vivillion looks awesome, though. Or have its stats been proven to be sucky?

I'd much rather they reduce the BP and increase the accuracy of other trapping moves instead of making new moves that are 20 BP
Infestation also has 100% accuracy.

But still a meh move.
Didn't notice that. Thanks.
I prefer mean look.

Okay, so to hype me up I ordered a bunch of Pokémon games. I got HeartGold and White 2. Haven't played either of them. I just finished my White play through and was thinking of cruising on over to White 2. Which does PokéGAF recommend?

Since you've already played the best and original Gen V game, go play Heart Gold then. Don't forget picking Cyndaquil as your starter.

I just read on this page that B2W2 are better than BW? I don't wanna play it two years down the line and forget the references to the first, but I hear HG is incredible. I was originally going to just play my old Crystal cartridge but the battery had died, so I bought both HG and W2. I got eleven days to finish one of them. :P

It really depends of what you like in a Pokémon game. B2W2 has more post game content, old Pokémon available early, but a really shitty storyline and crap characters, specially the rival. BW has a great storyline (the best in the whole series), better characters, rivals, champion, etc. I don't care much about post-game content and I like good stories, so BW was definitely better to me. Since you have a limited time to finish the game, I'd say post-game content isn't important, so go with Heart Gold definitely.

By the way, I wouldn't take what people say as facts. Someone said Gen IV was a bad generation, while in fact, it was one of the bests (Platinum and Heart Gold were fucking great).

So the first leaker picked Chespin and the second picked Froakie, that means that later today we should see their final evolutions. The wait will be brutal.

I loved the storyline in BW and I never really do postgame stuff in Pokémon anyway so I guess I'll play HeartGold.

Oh and I loved the world and characters in DPPt but the new Pokémon were horrible imo and the battles were too fucking slow that I literally fell asleep playing the game on multiple occasions. I bought Platinum since I heard battles were faster but my poor experience with Diamond turned me off the entire Sinnoh region. I think my Platinum box is still sealed actually.

Yeah, I'm surprised we haven't seen at least one starter final evolution yet. Anyone know of a leaker that has picked Fennekin?

Hoping to see that Spritzee evo sometime later in the leaks. Wanna see what direction it takes. Flamingo? Plague doctor? Plague doctor flamingo?

Play HeartGold first. You'll experience less Unova fatigue that way. When you get to playing White 2 after HeartGold and X/Y, Unova will feel like an old friend instead of a tired face and you can appreciate White 2 more.

I'm making an inference based on a few factors...
  • It's a little caterpillar that evolves into a cocoon that evolves into an adult insect. See Butterfree, Beedrill, Dustox, and Beautifly. When has one of these been any good? Venomoth and Volcarona just skipped the cocoon stage entirely and are the only lepidopterans worth their salt in combat.
  • Vivillion is already present at this stage in the game (The leaker has a Pokedex shot), indicating it evolves at a very early stage like all the other weak three-stage bugs.
  • The first gym leader almost certainly uses it; there aren't any other revealed Bug types besides Combee. The strongest first gym leader Pokemon was what, Nosepass? They generally suck.
  • Vivillion is Bug/Flying, a garbage type combo. While it doesn't indicate bad stats, it certainly doesn't help the poor bug, and a Bug/Flying typing also means that Gamefreak couldn't be arsed to think of a more interesting type combo for it.
  • Its known moves are Protect, String Shot, and Struggle Bug. That's one decent (But situational) move and two awful ones, and Struggle Bug is supposed to be Vivillion's improvement over the other two's move pools. Compare to other revealed Pokemon which got awesome attacks shown like Swords Dance, Moon Blast, Crabhammer, Brave Bird, Sludge Bomb, etc.
  • Look at it. Just look at it. Does that look like a powerhouse to you? It's a pink delicate-looking critter that isn't Fairy type. That's a very bad sign.

The biggest hype I had for this game was the global launch. The fact that there would be no guides before launch, everyone would be going in blind.

I'd understand if it was a week before launch, but this early, it kind of makes me not want to buy it at all. Or at least wait.

I don't understand the reasoning behind this at all.

If it is that important to you just stop reading spoiler threads. It'll take some work, but you can still go into the game semi-blind if you avoid certain places.

It's a shame, since I love the design.

It'll just end up being a weaker Butterfree. Butterfree is pretty much the best Pokemon you could expect out of that typing and BST.

What?

"There's leaks on the internet that show things I don't want to see so I'm not going to look at them and also not buy the game making sure there's no way of me seeing it ever regardless."

What are you trying to accomplish by not getting the game? Are you punishing yourself for looking? Punishing Nintendo for...uh....letting the game get out there early cause that's somehow there fault? I don't get it.
