All Mega Evos are presumably in both versions unless stated otherwise (Mewtwonite X or Y and Charizardnite X or Y).

It seems that they won't get alternative mega evolutions anyway, but so far, the pattern seems to be that X exclusive mega evolutions bring bigger change than Y ones (Psychic/Fighting Mewtwo X, Fire/Dragon Charizard X, while the Y version keeps their original types).

It is really hard to say which is starter is the most popular in each gen, though. Charizard and Blaziken are definitely the most popular Kanto starters, but the others generations... aren't that obvious.

It always seems like the fire type is the most popular, but that'd be weird to have all the fire types with two mega evolutions and no other types.

Having wings HAS to be enough to be legible imo. But then again Scyther still is flyless.
