First look at Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN

Didn't Edgar Wright do Scott Pilgrim? I felt that movie was lame.

You're entitled to your opinion, I thought it was very fun and a pretty ballsy move. From the perspective of an adaptation I see where some might be disappointed, but it was a genuinely great movie on most accounts.

I hope some of Joe Cornish’s classic action movie dialogue makes it into the movie
Stephen!!

Funnily Joe talked about writing this way back in 2007 on one of the first 6music shows.

I have faith this movie will be amazing. However it is a little strange if a choice. Most of my friends laugh at the mention of a hero called Ant-man. Think it's an uphill marketing battle.

Well the movie just wasn't funny to me at all, the jokes didn't really translate well from the comics IMO. Why they cast Michael Cera as Scott I'll never know and wtf was up with his hair?

What, Scott Pilgrim was the 1st BluRay I ever bought, because I thought it was so good. But I also thought 21 Jump Street was funny too. Just different strokes for different folks.

I guess the wife beating will be more British off-beat humour styled.
Or 60's sitcom style, "BANG! ZOOM! Straight to the moon!"

Honestly, ANTMAN was pretty cool until Ultimate universe shall all over it.

I read the comics before the movie came out and the things they cut were kind of expected (Mr. Chau and Scott's past) and I was okay without. I even liked the encounter with the twins more in the movie than in the comic. The BotB fight was quite awesome.

"Antman".

I've honestly never heard of him. Ever.

They're scraping the bottom of the barrel aint they?

Uh, he's pretty god damned far from the bottom of the barrel.

Just because you don't know comic characters outside of the super popular pop culture heroes and villains doesn't mean they're unknown.

I liked the teaser reel of this. Love most anything Wright has done except for Scott Pilgrim. I really liked the comics but if you condense it into a 90 minute film it's just an obnoxious mess and cast completely wrong and all fronts. Will be interesting to see who gets Pym-ed.

No doubt this has already been courted but it might be interesting if Pegg got the part - it would be both way out there and Wright's safe choice mind but it could fill the Downey hole when the day comes when he's had enough money.

I fucking hope Cera doesn't get casted as Pym, I mean he already ruined Scott Pilgrim for me and I don't want this to be ruined too.

I don't understand the Cera hate as Scott Pilgrim. That was a great movie all around, and I no problems with Cera at all.

I have no frame of reference for Ant-Man, so I can't say if he would be a good fit for the Pym character or not, but it sounds like your just hating on Cera because he is Cera.

Some people enjoy hating on things more than enjoying them.

Cera is kind of a dopey-looking guy and generally sells the dopey act. That's not Pym at all. I can't imagine Cera was ever considered for the role.

I didn't really like Scott Pilgrim at all. I see why people do love it, but I just wasn't a fan. I did love Wright's other flicks. I'm pretty amped about Ant-Man though. It'll probably be hilariously fun.

Has there been confirmation as to whether we're going with Pym or Lang? I remember some rumors that it'd have both, with Pym in the 60s and Lang rediscovering (ie stealing) his suit in the present day.

Wat.

Even if you disliked Cera and MEW, the casting for the exes and Sex bob-omb was perfection.

I went from "I do not give a shit about this film" to "Midnight screening day one" the second I learned Edgar Wright was directing.

The action scenes in this film are going to be off the chain

The action scenes will be...something else.

and that's just the test footage

Awesome, is it wrong that I am 10x more excited about this than the next Avengers after seeing these gifs? :S
I am getting bored with Marvel superhero movies now, hoping for more story and unique action sequences with Ant Man.
