I'm now imagining a gangster tv series with Diggersby as the pimp in charge of things, Furret as the rookie in over his head, Ratticate as the petulant and violent heir to the empire, Bibarel as the dumb yet still innocent muscle, and Linoone as the world-weary police detective trying to track them down.

You're not buying a game/system because a random in Canada got in trouble and willingly gave up his game after he coordinated with his friend, who works at a game store, to sell him a game 10+ days before release?

Yeah I think I'm liking Greninja's direction now that I learned about frogs losing their foam when they mature.

I'm still Sir Valiant the Green though!

My problem with Greninja is that its head looks nothing at all like a frogs head. Got to say he looks far better than the other 2 starters though. Still salty about chespin.

You should be making an informed decision about the games based on what you like about each version and not based on a guess you made before you knew anything.

I know it's fun to play "pick a team and stick to it" but, come on people. Please change your minds if you'd be happier with another game/another starter. My god. Don't force yourself to do something you don't want to do because of a promise that means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
 
Just saw Chespin's final evo... don't like it.

Then again, don't particularly like any of the starter final stages. Had this same issue in Gen 5 too.

I really like all these guys, although chessnaught is probably my least favorite of the three. I have a feeling his design will click more once we video of him

I think it was fairly obvious for Chespin2's design that he was wearing a shell. I kept telling people who said he looked ridiculous and got fat but you could tell from the design that it was just a big shell which is why he broke out of it in the final. Still unsure of it. That recolored one looks really good but its 50-50 with its current coloration.

Not bad, but I understand why they use white on it.

It implies the armor isn't part of its skin. The armor is actually a shell, hence why it's all white rather than brown.
 
I've always loved Fire starters the most, but now that I think about it, Water is right up there too:

Gen 1 - Charizard (But I LOVE Blastoise, more than any other starter besides Zard tbh)

Gen 2 - Typhlosion (Feraligatr is RIGHT there, though)

Gen 3 - Blaziken (free)

Gen 4 - Empoleon (Too badass, still barely edges out Son Goku)

Gen 5 - Samurott (definitely better than shitty Emboar, the downfall of the Fire type starter is in full effect)

Gen 6 - Greninja (once again, way better than Delphox)

Fire starters need to live up to that legacy and step their shit up.

That would have been 1000X better than the cream/white we got. I know others have been saying that chessnuts turn white as they age, but it just looks aesthetically wrong coming from an almost completely brown/green Quilladin. If the shiny looks anything similar to that, there might be hope, even if I can't use it.

It's not brown because it's implied that it's not part of its body. Notice how Quilladin has that too? Its actual brown body is encased in the white shell.
 
Thinking about it, the white on Chesnaught could be referencing a paladin's armor.

I guess the only thing I still don't like is his arms and it's more of the position of them than anything else.

Oh well, probably nothing fanart won't fix. Like all those that were just posted above me.

My problem with Chesnaught is that it's legs and arms seem waaaaaay too long, its ears/helmet is gone, and the color scheme is weird. I'd be happy if it was just shorter. The length of those legs combined with the size of the shell just makes him look... jarring.

The fire dude looks like one of those jokes that you see in moves where three kids stand on each others shoulders and wear a trenchcoat to try and pass as an adult. There's something just... off about that head on that body. It doesn't fit.

Froakie's final form's ears are a little too sharp for me, and I do kinda miss the bubbles, but I'm super into the tongue scarf and can't imagine how people aren't cool with a freakin' TONGUE SCARF. His proportions make sense, unlike the other two.

Infernape > Charizard > Typhlosion >>>>>>>> Blaziken > Emboar > Fire Fox

Please not that Empoleon is not a bad Pokemon. He's just the 5th best water starter, which is still good.

It's funny, I've never been a water-starter guy. Like seriously never. But they don't often get bad starters. I guess next time I know it's safe to bet on blue.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. Both the unburden business and the flying press move. Very very nice. What's the base power? Has anyone tried evolving Hawlucha?

Man, I went off to play some DOA5U and come back to confirmed Greninja and Chespin's final evolution. Chesnaught looks so bad, but Greninja is incredible. I can't wait to play this damn game, AAAARGH!
