Don't really mind if nothing else leaks, I got what I wanted to see so I'm good. Gonna rock Greninja/Blaziken/Venusuar until I can get my hands on a Fennekin and Chespin, I'll need trade buddies!

The one in my avatar is actually a wolf spider; you can tell by the two big eyes over a row of four little ones.

Its a bummer that all signs point to ~70 new pokemon. I would be PERFECTLY FINE with this IF they added new Evo's to old pokemon but it looks like GF didn't even do that at all....

Its looking like MegaEvos are looking skimpy too.... So did GF just polish up gameplay mechanics??? I mean... thats fine if we get most of the 700 in one game but I don't even think GF did that either.... (Granted, This may be in post-game)

I dunno, 70 Pokemon is sort of disappointing, but the game seems to have changed and evolved so much that it doesn't really bother me. I just want to experience the new feel.

And customize my trainer and dog Pokemon.

hundreds? probably not.

I think a realistic expectation would be:

70ish new pokemon species

30ish mega forms

which means roughly 100 new pokemon to find

and expect

80 - 90 old pokemon to round out the regional dex.

this will mean roughly 150 -160 pokemon species pre game.

then add in another 50ish mons postgame.

The games themselves will probably have a little over 200 pokemon to find.

I guess if you add in the dreamworld and event distributions, that can add another 100 or so.

i think someone said megas are not in the pokedex and the 70 people are refering to is based on the pokedex.

The Hoenn dex only goes up to 202. New Unova goes to 300, but it's also from a "third version" so they might not have counted it? In both cases they included Pokemon not introduced in that generation.

I'm leaning towards Froakie/Charmander or bulbasaur but is there any reason it would be better to choose one starter over the others? Is there going to be a lack of grass types other than Chespin or Bulbasaur for example?

Mega Charizard X takes neutral damage from fairies I think. Long as he's got metal claw and healing items he'll be fine.

yes there is about 17 or 18 non megas 5 of which I believe to be legendary, and an unknown number of megas still to be revealed.

Nah, just pick the starter you're interested in. Thanks to the variety we're seeing I doubt there's going to be a lack of one type or another. Man, I can't even imagine how it'd feel like to jump from Yellow to X&Y.

The leaker on /vp/ said there was a metric TON of Kanto and Hoenn pokemon, with a teeny bit of Johto and Unova pokemon. Looking at the PC box and wild encounters being posted, it's hard to deny. Still, didn't GF say pokemon's cries were redone/updated?

I do wonder if going forward, each batch of new Pokémon will be more on the low end in number, since the overall roster is approaching 1,000 and GF may find it easier to do fewer Pokémon from a design and game balance perspective.

Or alternatively, perhaps Gen 6 is just what every even-numbered gen is: An expansion generation, supplementing a mix of old Pokémon with a combination of new evolutions and all-new Pokémon.

They did not confiscate it. He voluntarily handed it back as he felt the store would be in a little less trouble. The store (or chain or their wholeseller) probably won't receive Nintendo stock in a timely manner for a long time still...

Some think Flabebe might be, given the spaces in the Dex.

One of the leaked trademark names is Fuupa, which I think might be some mid-form cocoon stage where it goes into its flower.
