Tropius for some bananas to go on top of your vanilluxe

I think I'll use Kingler actually, love me some king crab. Or whatever the hell the new lobster evolves into.

Team Master Chef, hope there is chef atire:

Farfetchd
Cherrim
Slurrpuff
Vanilluxe
Oven Rotom
Kingler/Clauncher evo

You know, the comparisons between the Gen 2 and 6 dexes are really funny, since a lot of the Gen 5 Pokémon are similar to the Gen I ones.

Gen 7 confirmed to be similar to Gen 3 :P

This. I wouldn't be surprised if this dude was right. Honestly what do people expect post game? 3 new routes a battle frontier thing and maybe a few legendaries thats it.
The conspicuous absence of the Mountain Dex thus far is the one wrinkle to this anti-climactic scenario. Unless, of course, the Mountain Dex is merely the National Dex under a different name. I'm going to assume that's the case if Xerneas and Yveltal show up as #000 or #151 on either of the Coastal or Central Dexes.

GOOD AFTERNOON POKEGAF

I see I didn't miss any new leaks. Have all the leakers been shut down? The last thing I remember before everything went black was... Binacle I think? Was he the last "new" thing that got revealed?

Yep, Binacle was the last one we saw.

Most of the leakers are probably working I believe, the dude on /vp/ said he'd be back in a few hours after work. I haven't heard anyone but the original three (kosthedin, the one girl, and the livestreamer) getting shut down, the new ones aren't putting themselves on instagram but instead leaking anonymously.

i wonder when will we have another pokemon game with two regions(and 2 sets of gym leaders) to explore. gen 2/ss/hg are my favorite game in the series because you could go on to another region with even more pokemon to explore. I wish they'd bring that feature back

.

Platinum does a lot thing better than Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

Agreed. Platinum is actually the best Pokémon game, to me.

Older pokemon getting dual-type moves is going to change up a TON of competition strategies for them. Ditto if abilities get shifted around on top of the Fairy typing introduction.

I seem to be the only one who doesn't like Hawlucha and it's design, pretty shitty imo from the pics I've seen, might be better once I can see it clearly though. It just doesn't look that interesting.

The metagame is going to be so good...
Did generations 4/5 go this crazy in terms of type diversity early in the game? (I skipped D/P and B/W, and oddly enough, the new EXP Share is what has me interested now, since it'll reduce grinding by a LOT.)

No, Diamond and Pearl and Black and White only had 150 or so Pokemon each before the E4, and very uneven in certain types.

Fire/Flying attack from a Fire/Flying Pokemon versus Parasect with Dry Skin, Jesus.

(Dry Skin weakness to Fire) x2
(Bug weakness to Fire) x2
(Bug weakness to Flying) x2
(Grass weakness to Fire) x2
(Grass weakness to Flying) x2

That's a good x32 multiplier, more with STAB.

Black 2 and White 2 had good diversity, but Black and White had awful diversity. Diamond and Pearl infamously had only two Fire type lines before the Elite 4, and one of those was a starter.

Diamond and Pearl (but not platinum, which actually had all of the Gen IV families pre-E4 save one or two) in particular were bad for it. There were 2 fire type families available: Infernape (the fire starter) and Rapidash. Dark and Ice were also hard to come by too IIRC.

With that description, it should mean that:

1. The move gets Fighting STAB.
2. The move properties make it act like a new type:

Fighting:
SE vs. Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, Dark
NVE vs. Poison, Flying, Bug, Psychic, Fairy
NE vs. Ghost

Flying:
SE vs. Bug, Fighting, Grass
NVE vs. Electric, Rock, Steel

Fighting/Flying:
SE vs. Normal, Ice, Dark, Fighting, Grass
NVE vs. Poison, Flying, Psychic, Fairy, Electric
NE vs. Ghost

Things could get a lot more interesting if there are other moves like this, or earlier moves are changed...

Someone really really hates Parasect, lol.

i wonder if it chooses one type over the other when attacking or just applies both. ZI wonder if ghost is immune to it or if it deals just flying damage.

I don't get the "no-postgame" rumor. Does that mean that once the E4 and the Evil Team are beaten, there's nothing left? Even the least robust entries in the series have had some things to do afterwards.

With all of the things GameFreak is putting into these titles, it's hard to believe that they would just stop at the postgame.

There's still going to be a few legendary pokemon, but no one has reached the postgame yet that is willing to spill details or evidence to the contrary.
