Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

Am I the only person who's okay with "only" 70 new Pokemon? There's enough fucking Pokemon already, I don't need 100+ new ones every gen.

The thing that's scaring me right now is the difficulty. It sounds like that exp share is going to make the game REALLY easy. Kinda sucks. I'll try to avoid using it but it's tough when they just give it to you like that.

More is better, always.

I'm loving the mega's, but now I'm a bit sad that they aren't permanent considering how few new Pokemon we are getting. Either way, I'm enjoying these more than the majority of the new Pokemon (where are the 3-form evolutions?)

Did we ever get clarification on whether or not we can have multiple Pokemon holding mega stones in the same party?
Only one Mega Stone-holding Pokémon per party. It's a limitation set because Mega Evolutions are on par with legendary Pokémon in terms of power.

You know what would be cool, and what would go a long way in making Poison types more viable? A poison based weather. Pollution. Maybe Mega Garbodor induces a poisonous smog when it enters the battle like other weather inducers.

The poison smog could heal Poison Pokemon 1/16th of their health each turn.
It could damage non-poison Pokemon 1/16th of their heath each turn.
Power up Poison-type attacks.
Increase the Special Def. of Poison types?

Poison NEEDS this.

Cause I wanted to play with that pokemon? I want to try out a lot of them!

Oh, that makes more sense. Yeah, the main game assumes you're going to train around six Pokemon for fighting purposes and if you want to try out a lot it gets a bit grindy to keep up.

I usually train 3-4 for most of the game to give those Pokemon more exp to work with but the less divided the exp gets, the easier the game becomes. Try solo-ing GSC with your starter. I've done it, it's super easy and there was no grinding involved. It might even be the easiest way to beat the game. Ruby I beat with just Gardevoir and Blaziken, also surprisingly easy(until the E4 at least).

I'm fine with it, quality > quantity and all that. But I don't even get why the rumor is persisting. The leakers are almost at 70 now, without even finishing the gyms. I remember discovering almost as many pokes after the elite four as before in previous gens. It's the same dev so I fail to see a reason for then to betray this convention over the others.

Clever idea. Only Poison and Steel types could be immune to this.

The lower Pokemon count I care more about since I play Pokemon mainly for the new Pokemon and region. There is only so much I can care about them doing new stuff with older Pokemon and there is only so much they are gonna update and alter the meta-game each gen.

If a certain item or strategy makes the game "too easy" and if being "too easy" is something that bothers me I'll just not use those items or strategies. Really though, Pokemon has never been a hard game , and while there is a lot of things they could do with a hard mode or something of the sort ( theme based gym leaders/E4 rather than type based, ai that uses hold items and switches out /attacks based on proper guesses and decisions, etc). But the main story will always face the main problem of being a game about levels for which they can either make it convenient to level up/lower trainer levels (and thus make the game easy) or a pain/raise trainer levels (which subjects you to a bunch of grinding) .

Im glad the plot hasnt been leaked .

Get ready bro, major spoilers comin at ya!!

- You are a Pokemon Trainer!!
- You fight 8 Gym Leaders and eventually the Elite Four!
- Along the way you come across an evil team that wants to utilize the power of a Legendary Pokemon in some nefarious fashion!
- You stop them and reset the game 5 times trying to catch said Legendary Pokemon!

Guess I'll make some changes. How does this look then?

Looking good, I hope it continues to grow.

Ugh, thats fucking frustrating. I would love to be able to choose which Pokemon to evolve in battles assuming I have multiple options. I just wish once you evolved one the others holding their stones couldn't mega evolve until the next battle.

:lol

I agree with you on the Regis, but chill out and stop taking it out on Moltres.
Fine.

...But only because Zapdos is its bro.

3D Mr Mime is so cute.

Me too. I really like the plots in Pokémon games and I don't it to be spoiled.

So you can't transfer items with your Pokémon on PokéBank. The fuck is this shit :(
That's a pretty epic development.
I wonder if any noteworthy items from past gens won't be available out of the gates in Kalos (i.e. will we need to wait for DLC, future titles, etc.)

Also, is the item storage in X & Y ample enough to hold everything in an organized fashion? Especially when you account for all of those mega stones as well.

What's interesting is this wasn't even the plot for the first Pokemon game. Indirectly Mewtwo was meant to be used, but he escaped and he isn't mentioned or used in the story beyond that.

Rocket was just a mafia bent on ruling the world using intimidation and finances. It's probably why I like Rocket the best (besides nostalgia), they had realistic goals and used Pokemon as a tool as a trainer does, instead of "Awaken Groudon/Dialga/etc so I can rule the world wooo" type stuff every new game is about.

Coming from Black and white overall plot with N and the twins story , i was hoping something similar or better fro X and Y

Acid Rain would be great! Speaking of, how about giving Poison types a move like Freeze Dry? Acid burns through metal. Make an acid-based Poison-type move that is Super Effective against Steel.

These types of moves could be huge in balancing types imo.

True, Rocket felt like this bug criminal organization. Every other team feels closer to being cults than that.

No PokeBank until December is annnnnooooyyyying. Means no way to easily restart for starters unless you have 2 copies and 2 3DSs at launch. Grrrrr. Means I'll probably grab a copy of X in december just to get the rest of the stuff I need.

Soooo agreed! RS was really bad in the villain team department. "Wait, submerging the entire world is a bad idea?" Just, ugggh

Use the GTS. It's also available way earlier in the games than transferring from previous gens.

RS still had the most interesting story because the story had implications on the overworld, such as the changes in the water routes. The story felt very tied into the region, which made it more compelling to me at least.
