Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

This would be incredibly stupid, but what if there are 30 additional pokemon that you need to level this guy up to catch?

Zygarde ate 30+ Pokémon and half the framerate from 3D mode confirmed!

And I'm not really disappointed that we have the legendary birds again, but I am let down that they're roamers. I'm not sure if I'll have any incentive to chase them down with how many games they've been in at this point!

The rumor that I read that first mentioned the Legendary Birds being recycled did mention Mega Forms.

Need I remind people kyurem was very blatantly a gray color?

Good times, good times.

Those pokemon had it coming, destroying the environment by pooping everywhere.
lolwat

What was the primary guess for Pt?
Topaz or Opal version.

I would have preferred that Zygarde's ability nullified all abilities, but whatever.
Opal. Back then everyone thought Giratina's name was a reference to a type of opal called "Girasol", supported by the red jewels on his wings.
Ah. I'd still argue that we were thrown for a bigger loop with B2/W2 though. Absolutely no-one expected anything like that.

So just to confirm, the only legendaries for this generation, outside of events, are the X, Y, Z trio? (And no, I don't count the birds since that's just fucking lazy rehashing on GF's part)

If so, that's very bare-bones, more so than even more worse expectations. I'm guessing that's where all the "no real post-game" stuff evolved from..

there is always a directors cut but the Z legendary honestly doesnt look that great kinda meh if he is put on a cover...

Posting this as some people were a bit confused on the mechanic.

People can't dump the game this time, so we can't say for certain yet. There might be a few that are after the cover trio, but yeah, otherwise it looks like the gaps are filled in by Mewtwo and possibly Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

I hope there's a way to get other starters from the other gens, even if you can only pick one from each. Waiting until December would suck.

It's rumored that Meganium, Blaziken, Empoleon, and Emboar are the other Starter Pokemon that have Mega Evolutions. Blaziken was distributed via an Event, I bet those other four will come soon with their Mega Stones.

But what if it gets a mega super origin DNA splice form or something in Z version?

Giratina has made me not doubt a pokemon until the 3rd version is out.

there is probably 3-4 hidden event only legendaries which we wouldnt know about untill events are announced.

then we shall see maybe he does have another forme.

wait, people whiffed on Emerald in gen 3?
I have a hard time believing that

Well, we didn't have a solid idea at that point since the past two third versions were...

The mascot of the franchise Pikachu (technically Blastoise was one in Japan) and a random member of the Legendary Trio.

It was the first time we had a leader of the Box Legendaries.

Can someone explain how mewtwo is randomly in a cave? Red caught him back in gen 1 and there's only 1 mewtwo right? Did red release it and it decided to take a vacation in kalos. Legendary birds on vacation as well?

Pretty sure there's a second Mewtwo in the newest movie. There'll probably be a Mewtwo X vs Mewtwo Y fight in it too.

I wouldn't assume the z legendary will be on a cover. I can see gamefreak doing another black/white 2 thing this generation.

in hg/ss he was in the cave again and red didnt have him so he must have released him. then i assume ethan/lyra released theres too.

or this is another mewtwo from another experiment.

yes the mewtwo in this movie is female.

Man, that's just.... =\

To a degree, I can understand there being less Pokemon since this is the first true 3D game and they probably spent most of the effort focusing on that. However, it doesn't make any sense for them to cut the number to under 100 significantly, as well as try to plug the spots usually reserved for new legendaries with old ones.

As much as I like a lot about this game, other aspects of it really, really irritate me, especially in regards to smaller Pokemon count and wildly inconsistent type coverage. I'm also not very happy about the focus on replacing Mega Evolutions with true evolutions, but what can you do?

Plus HeartGold/SoulSilver put Mewtwo back in Cerulean Cave anyway. The legendaries just kind of reappear wherever.

I think the legendaries were getting a little excessive anyway (plus the overall number ballooning up), so I can't really fault them for slowing down with the transition to 3D. The lack of a new trio is a little odd though.

I think it would be neat if one of the event pokemon is a fairy/dark pokemon whos ability is it restores a little bit of hp every time its hit by a dark or fairy type move. Ummm for its lore it can be some shit like it was the first pokemon to develop a sense of right and wrong or some corny shit like that

People really underestimate how big of a jump the 3D models are though.

Can you imagine this type of animation:

For all 700+ pokemon?

Hot damn, I had no idea their status screen looked like that. That's a great touch.

E: Zanpachi was mentioning hitting the sack pretty soon, and there have been no more updates on the SA thread. Wouldn't expect too much more any time soon, especially since Josh seems to have to start from scratch with evolving Skrelp.

I've been awake for nearly 72 hours, waiting for my precious Mega Jynx to leak. Jynx is love, Jynx is life. HAIL TO THE QUEEN!

I keep forgetting we have the Mega Pokemon left to see. I wanna see Mega Mr. Mime.

I hope the weirder less popular Pokemon that are basically "unevolved" have more dynamic changes. Mega Gengar, Gardevoir, and Gyrados kind of bore me...but I really like Mega Abomasnow though.

Don't you have to double that number for shiny pokemon?

I imagine they can reuse the same animation scheme while just swapping the colors. Shouldn't be that hard.

Man, I didn't know they had that kind of animation on the status screen. I thought I couldn't get more hyped. I was wrong.

They're just palette swaps, so it'll be mostly the same.

Like, I'm not sure if they'll be as animated as torchic is, and I'm sure quite a few of them won't receive as much attention as that torchic gif, but at the bare minimum I have high confidence that GF will be able to breath more life into their designs from the animations alone.

I'd be perfectly fine with them cutting down the number of legendaries, I agree that they were kind of getting out of hand, especially in Gen IV. The problem is they skimped way too much, with there only being 3 legendaries obtainable normally. They also skimped on things that are pretty much expected at this point with every new gen, especially an even one, like having at least 100 new Pokemon and TRUE evolutions .

It almost seems like they ran out of time and just planned to add everything through DLC and events that they couldn't make on deadline because of the long in advanced announced date.

I don't doubt it's a lot of work to make 3D models for every Pokemon, but it's not like they haven't had a base to work on at all. The 3D Pokedex was released almost 2 years ago (IIRC) and that has good 3D models for all Pokemon up to Gen V, which I'm sure they used as a base to start with. Also, I don't think an extra 30 Pokemon would have destroyed them since they'd already gotten that far.
