Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Dragon's Crown comes out in like 10 days I think? You can always import cards too (what I do).
Imports take too long and cost a fair bit...I was looking for something to scratch that hack and slash itch now...but it is coming out quite soon!
Try the demo for DW:Next, the touch and gyro stuff can be a bit of a bother, but otherwise it's a really fun game, if you like beating down hundreds of enemies anyway
Coolio, I'll give it a try!

So I just bought Killzone Mercenary. I hope it's as good as many people on here said it was.

I was going to get Beyond but it just felt like a bad decision and I said to myself if I'm going to make a potentially bad decision I may as well spend a bit less doing it. And on something that has more gameplay.

edit: 1.2gb patch god damn it. I'm only working an 8gb card here!

Beyond is actually fun to play.

Does Killzone merc have a good sp campaign?

Killzone Mercenary's Single Player is perhaps the best SP mode in an FPS I've played in years. Reminds me of Goldeneye/Perfect Dark. Really digging the alternative playstyles, a bit of exploration & non-mandatory extra tasks you can pull off during missions. Really can't understand the reviews that crap on the game from the same people who are going all ga-ga with every boring-ass Call of Duty.

Rayman Legends on Vita is great but I'm hating the trophies in the game. I'd really love to Platinum it but the trophiy is especially BS that requires you to get a Diamond trophy in a daily or weekly challenge, and not too fond of the "Aweso Me" trophy or the collect 1 million lums trophy either, such boring-ass grind fests those are, no reason to have those kinds of trophies in a game like Rayman. :| Done almost everything else in the game but I simply can't get to the top 1% that I assume you need to be in to get the Diamond trophy. It's just impossible with my (lack of) skills & free-time. The closest I've been was one of those endless tree-runs where I was about 300-400m from winning one (at the time I last checked, there were probably people getting better results). Have gotten a few golds at best and can always get in on the silver action if I want to put in even a little bit of effort. But I doubt I'll ever get a Diamond unless people stop playing the game a few months from now. Here's hoping Legends ain't a PS+ game any time soon.

Woohoo! Can't wait to try this on Vita. I tried playing the PS3 version and the game was really confusing. Hopefully the upgrades will make the game more enjoyable on Vita.

Hopefully it runs better than the PS3 version.
I'll wait for first hand impressions before I drop any cash on it.

EU PSN gets great stuff like PS+. I'm US PSN so maybe it'll come if it did great in Europe. I can wait, got many games to play already.

Disgaea 3 was free on PS+ for NA back in February or so.
PS+ does not repeat games... maybe it will show up on sale, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

So September was my first month of PS+. What is the expected time frame for the October games to become available?

Also anyone have any impressions on Malicious? I couldn't find much information but is this one to get excited over?

I got Malicious for free on PS+ for my PS3, but I haven't played it yet. I might boot it up and see what it's like. Just finished Killzone Mercs so I need to jump into something new.

Edit: Only a 3-4 hour game? Damn I'll have this done in no time (providing it's fun).

Played Malicious on the Ps3.

After a few minutes to adjust to the controls and the a little bit confusing "layout" it was really enjoyable, awesome style, got stuck at the endboss but could finish him after a few "OMG NO" trys.

Short game and the framerate dropped pretty low a few times but overall I liked it!

Not sure if the Vita Version will add enough to replay it. But I am definitly interested, especially since I got the original one for Plus and I like to support games I enjoyed. Hope it's under 10€.

Did the first mission in Killzone. I was somewhat impressed by the level design, I went off the path it was telling me to go a few times and found certain things like friendlies held captive. I'm assuming those will be contracts later on but at least I still got paid for doing it on my own.

What I'm not impressed with is the frequent stutters in the game. I don't know if it happens every time a message comes on the screen but it locks up for a good half second and it does it a LOT. Really screws up the fluidity of the game and my concentration since it sometimes happens when I'm trying to line a shot up. The cover system is trash too since you're still very much exposed but your mobility and chance to escape damage is limited when crouched/in cover. The melee swipe system is pretty rough too. It's nowhere near as unresponsive as Uncharted GA but it doesn't seem to leave you very much time to read the move and then do it.

The graphics were ok but I was left fairly unimpressed. I don't want to lower my standards and say it's nice "for a handheld game" but at the same time it seemed like it was somewhere in between Killzone 1 and 2 in graphics. Could have just been that particular level that looked kind of rough though.

Have you installed all of the updates? If I recall, the microstutter was an issue if one didn't install the day one patch, so that might have something to do with it.

It's this coming Friday isn't it?

I googled it, and it's coming October 11th.

If it is released this soon, I'll have to wait 1 or 2 weeks. Just bought Persona 4, and have to spend some money for other reasons. I won't be able to buy before end October now T.T

Still, I'll have lot of fun with P4G.

*high-five*

Like I said in the love thread, Killzone Mercenary is basically Crysis 2 on a damn handheld... The gameplay part obviously, not the horrible story :P

Yeah before I started it I noticed a 1.2gb patch and I downloaded that. If that's supposed to fix it then I can't imagine how bad it was before.

I have a question.

I loved both WipEout games on the PSP and I am thinking of buying them on PSN to play on my Vita, but I heard that the dlc for at least Pure isn't available anymore.
Is it somehow possible to copy the PSP dlc over somehow.
It had some incredible special courses, which were exclusive to certain regions which is why I had the Pal version as well even though I got the Japanese one when I imported my system when it came out.

The base game is fun enough, but I'd really love to play those impressionistic courses on the Vita as well.

So, the Vita Screenshot thread hasn't had a post in four months. There's been plenty of games out since then. I want to remind the old Vitabros and also the newer Vitabros that may not have even known we have the thread that we do have a thread filled with screenshots of Vita games. It would be great if it could pick up a little, as it's a great resource for people wanting to know what a game looks like. Go ahead in there, post some of your favorite screenshots you've taken on your Vita, and we'll get it going again.

I just posted in there with a screenshot of a few different games.

So I have Zero Escape from PS+, but it's on my 4gig card. Now I have a 32... Is there any way to transfer the game over?

You should be able to transfer it to your PC with the Content Manager, swap cards in the Vita and transfer it back I think.

Is anybody aware of a release date for Muramasa Rebirth in the UK as yet? Couldn't find anything concrete with a google search other than Autumn.

New Starlight Inception news from their FB page: Vita beta for KS backers 10/22, open to all 10/29. Check out a 24 minute Steam early access build video they posted...I'll reserve judgment until the beta release at the end of the month. Hoping the best for some portable space shooter fun!

The open beta is for free, right? I may give it a try if it's free.

Edit: Sony said that every PS+ title is above 70 in Metacritic. Yet we have LEGO: Lord of the Rings in Vita. 55 Metascore.

And the game has QTE. Is that what we the industry want to teach to our childs? Damn it.

Isn't Jeanne d'Arc avaiable in the european psn store anymore ? I'm pretty sure I saw it there some time ago but can't find it right now using the pc store.

Never had any stutters or pauses like that. You playing a digital copy or a physical copy?

Melee is a piece of cake to me. I like the way it's done.

Awesome, did not know this existed. I shall be contributing as well.

Hell yea! I mean HELL YEA! I am very happy to hear this. Excited to see everything in motion that I've been reading about for so long!

Spelunky is one of those games where I can spend a good 2 or 3 hours and leave wondering what the hell I was doing eating up my Sunday like that. There is absolutely no sign of progress to show for those hours, expect a higher death count @_@.

Is Earth Defense Force 2017 worth it for $14.99?

Probably? I'm happy with it for $15. Hard to say if you will be though. You run around and blow up aliens and giant bugs with lots of guns. Almost like a DW game but with more TPS instead of hack and slash.

Is it now possible to transfer PS1 saves wirelessly from a Vita to a PS3?

Should be, now that PS3 can allow Vita CM to connect wirelessly.
