Is there a chance that all these Ruby and Sapphire references are just easter eggs and not clues of another region or remake?

There's always a chance. No one expected FireRed/LeafGreen until it happened. No one thought they'd split "Grey" into two sequels. GameFreak is unpredictable.

Heck, for all we know it could be a 3D remake of Ruby and Sapphire on the XY engine... and right after beating the main campaign you get to visit Sinnoh, which geographically is probably nearby, being in the Pokemon world's "Asia" and all.

Well they're based off of Kyushu and Hokkaido respectively, which are at the opposite ends of Japan, technically Poke-geography could have them closer together, though. Kanto and Johto are right next to each other, in between the other two..

It's a good thing I saved this picture before the 4chan link died.

Is this one Grass/Fairy?

Also all this talk of a Gen III remake makes me kinda want it to see if I'd have a fonder reception to that region/gen now as opposed to back then when I salty ragequit as a 12-13 year old when I realized I couldn't have an Arcanine/Dragonite unless I got a whole bunch of extra stuff.

It annoys me they kept that requirement of having to KO all but one Pokemon to catch a Pokemon in a Horde encounter.

Pure Fairy.

So if Sinnoh is "Asia", Unova is US, Kalos is France, Kanto/Johto is Japan.... Then whats Hoenn?

I don't think Arcanine or Dragonite are in this game either.

Maybe this time they only do an Emerald remake alongside a Pokemon Z game.

Maybe, but at this point I don't think we'll ever see a single main style pokemon game again. The success of B/W2 ensured that GF will continue to split every pokemon game into 2 for maximum profit.

So... I'm only just realising that the Saffron and Goldenrod are based on Tokyo and Osaka, which is why there's a bullet train line between them

Every town in Pokemon is based off of a real location as well. I want to see a game based on California and Nevada lol.

Actually, both Celadon and Saffron make up Tokyo.

In those instances psychic also implies humanistic forms.
It can work either way. "Mystic" is also a way to describe a higher plane of existence. I could see Gyarados achieving just that with its Mega Evolution. It already looks more mystical with the addition of pearls and pink accents, not to mention the streamlined body and majestic whiskers.

As much as I haven't spoiled myself on music thus far, I'd love a wink wink/nudge nudge type of confirmation that Kalos has music that is either on par with or in the same musical vein as stuff like Gen V's Gym Leaders, Corless Battle, the Ghetis battles, and Elite Four tracks.

A town theme on par with Lacunosta Town would be good too.

Is milotic water/fairy now? Mega gyarados seemed more comparable to her than any Psychic.

3 more days... or at least 3 more days until the guides release and we can fill up the rest of the dex and find discover the rest of the megas!

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. They're two different Pokemon. Dedenne isn't more "Fairy-esque" in any obvious way compared to Pikachu. GameFreak could easily turn Gyarados into some sort of mystical god and slap the Psychic type on his Mega form. They don't have to go the obvious route of "oh he's mean, make him Dark" or the even more obvious route of "he's a fanged flying serpent, make him Dragon." Psychic would be unexpected but feel oddly appropriate given the new color scheme, the pearls, the head and overall sense of majesty rather than dread. A mystical dragon-god. :)

Randomly, I'm pretty excited for December. Pkmn that aren't available in gen 6 at all might get some cool new toys in terms of attacks. Gen 5 gave Arcanine close combat and outrage. Maybe it'll give him some more fun stuff (since no mega stone...)

Who knows, maybe there'll be some new typings or abilities or stuff outside of new moves.
