Soul Sacrifice co-developers at Sony Japan Studio are working on new PS4 title – report

Sony Japan Studio’s internal team – dubbed ‘Japan Studio External Development Department’ – is said to be working on a new PS4 title.


The team are known within Sony Japan Studio as co-developers of Soul Sacrifice, Soul Sacrifice Delta and Rain, as well as incoming PS Vita releases Destiny of Spirits and Freedom Wars.

Siliconera reports – by way of Famitsu – that the team is said to be working on its very own PS4 project. While all of the titles listed above are collaborations of varying degrees, this new game appears to be entirely of the team’s own design. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Nier was Square Enix and Cavia. Nothing to do with Sony.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is Demon's Souls 2 led by Takeshi Kaji. People under-estimate how involved he was in Demon's Souls and Hidetaka Miyazaki is supposedly working on a new IP, not a Souls game (I believe there was a rumor that was a SCEJ collaboration as well a little while back). Wouldn't surprise me at all to see SCEJ handle the IP internally going forward.

Demon's Souls was basically developed by From.Only the producer and a very small team who worked on the online part of the game were from SCEJ.
Having Miyazaki on board surely helps but DS wasn't one person's project.Level designers,programmers and artists were all from FS.So if the rumour is true i hope the original team of From Software is involved as well.
