Couldn't wait for Delta, so just got these 2 little guys:

Downloaded the latest patch and all DLCs for Soul Sacrifice and my body is ready for it. Hope I don't need to sacrifice my SQL exam this weekend... :)

EU ps +ers....

I've just checked out the instant game selection from the vita and uncharted and gravity rush are not there anymore... They're showing up as available for purchase with a discount.

I checked on the online store and they're still showing as free.

Weird. Is this the same for anyone else?

Which is why everyone needs to buy Valhalla Knights 3. SHOW THEM WHERE THE PERVERTS ARE!!!!

I laughed very hard when I read that lol

It looks great, but i won't buy it at d1, i didn't like playing it on the ps3, i felt that on vita i would have enjoyed it more, but i'm not so sure.

I really loved the song of the night bar(and festival too iirc)

The battle song is really cool, and the one in the TV studios (where you meet Teddie everytime you enter the shadow world) is awesome. I want them both in my phone nooow! (I'm not used to hearing game OST, but they are so good...)

The only thing that I didn't really like is that there isn't three different physichal attacks now (slice, crush and pierce) as in P3. If they keep the same battle system, I hope they include them again.

Nope, just checked it and they are still +FREE for me. Have a Bulgarian (BG) account.

I just ordered a new Vita with 10 games (the mega pack) for 170 euros. 170. like...what?
With me resubscribing to psn+ and the ps4 releasing soon, i just had to get one :D.

I like the range of PS1 games in Japan PS+ but I think I'll stick to Asia, $30 a year is almost half the price of the Japanese subscription and that's not counting the bonuses on offer.

There's actually an on-going Autumn Fest promo right now.

1. You can get a free 15-day PS+ trial at the store.
2. You get 60 days more if you get a 365-day sub. Or 15 days more if you get a 90-day sub. (Codes mailed to you later.)

Promo lasts until Feb 3, 2014.

Personally, I'm just happy they made the 90 day sub finally available since I don't sub for an entire year due to some months I don't play at all. The pricing is good, too. It's only 200 yen more and you only lose 5 days in comparison to the year sub.

On asian PSN, it's Year-or-Nothing due to the pricing scheme. The shorter subscription aren't much cheaper than either NA or JP. Yearly is a lot cheaper, though.

The only reason I went back to my HK account is so I could get the JP version of DC since they priced it the same as the EN release. Kikoku Inoue is surprisingly effing good as a narrator. She fits so well that you'd think the script was tailored for her.

Also, probably one good thing on JP PSN is that I'm not completely blank on what's going to be on PS+ due to the PSN wiki. They compile the data so well. @_@

Disgaea 3 Returns will be available in mid-Nov, and Steins;Gate in mid-Dec.

lol as comfy as the 2DS is...im starting to have buyers remorse for it.....and I haven't even bought that damn thing yet. It's really comfortable to hold, but I kinda like my portables to fit in my pocket. I might import the vita tv instead, but surely that will come stateside next year. Anyone here interested in the Vita TV?

The thought of playing GR or Dissidia in the living room is makin me smile

Sad part is, you are right.

I did have the wonderswan at one point though.

I only have 1 3DS. The other one is a DSi

Yes. I want Vita TV. I want it for my Vita games. I want it for my PS4 games.

I regard to your 2DS conundrum:

Ive come to love handhelds as well. Mainly my love for handhelds began during this current cycle.

3DS wise:
I owned an Aqua 3DS ---> midnight purple 3DS ---> blue XL ---> now just the Fire Emblem 3DS. I ambassador transferred each time and have many, many games (Eshop and retail). Everyone says the OG is a downgrade to the XL and maybe I'd agree if I hadn't had an XL for 6 months prior to 'downgrading'. The XL, to me is the downgrade: creaky and flimsy, mushy triggers, jangly dpad and horrible screen resolution + horrible 3D sweet spot + floppy lid.

The newer OGs (purple and onward) are built tighter. Snug buttons and dpad. The face buttons are no longer painted. No more wobble.

If you're wanting better comfort and battery life:

Get the Nyko Power Grip. Affixes to 3DS without tampering. It simply clicks on, like the CPP or a Vita grip. It adds the secret brightness at level 5 and adds comfort and 3-7 hours of extra battery. When the grip dies, 3DS still has a full charge ^_^

Sorry sorta off topic tangent there.

Vita wise:

Soul Sacrifice X Toukiden = ?

I'm convinced the OG 3DSs had better quality screens than the 3DS after the price drop as well as the XL

But I'm getting old and the bigger screen makes it easier on me (31)

Either way, I think nintendo is stupid for not having a better display that has a higher resolution.

I'm 32 and while the bigger screen is nice, it's a shit screen and makes the games look like shit. You literally see all of the pixels and there is a weird sheen no matter 3D off or on.

I'd avoid it, but it'll make you love the Vita x that much more.

It's pretty terrible, no doubt. I can't imagine trying to watch Netflix on it even though my son has.

Surprised that Pixeljunk Monsters Deluxe is still on sale for PS+ members. This is the third week in a row it has been up.

And it's still over $5 more than I'd ever CONSIDER the game for. It's been on sale for $9.99 on Steam already and I didn't bite there either.

I played the demo for Soul Sacrifice and have no interest in it.

That's a shame. It's one of the best Vita has to offer.

The bigger con is the lack of cel-shading, right?

Limited draw distance and 30fps is more like it.

Maybe, but you can't tell Nintendo anything about what a gamer wants. They're stuck in this timewarp where it takes them 8 years to come up to speed on what people wanted 8 years ago. And because they have popular IPs, they can kind of do what they want.

When they put out the Wii, they claimed that nobody wanted HD and it was a waste of money to develop HD games, 480p was fine. They also didn't really think networking/online play was that important either. 8 years later, give or take, and they've finally decided HD matters. However, they're on the low end of the horsepower spectrum, leaving them somewhere between (maybe) the PS360 consoles and the new PS4/Xbone level. And apparently they still don't understand online enough to offer a unified account system with purchased tied to your account (and not the system). Don't even get me started on FCs.

Granted, the HD thing doesn't totally apply to handhelds... but since they have the market cornered with every kid wanting one for Christmas to play the new mario or pokemon or whatever (and with the MH stuff in Japan), they can do what they want.

I remember reading that there would soon be an update to allow you to move data between your PS3 and Vita wirelessly. Any word on if you will be able to do this with PSOne Classics save files? I like to play my RPGs and my R4 on both!

It should work if you set it up.
You still have to use content manager though.

There are games that are already struggling at the given resolution. It'd have to be a completely different device and drop 3D for example (which I'd welcome but that's beside the point).

wouldn't you have to disconnect from online (PS3) or have your PS3 hardwired to the internet so it can use wi-fi to connect to your vita?

My PS3 is hardwired in the first place, so I couldn't say if you need to disconnect from PSN to have it work.

However, since the vita has a way of connecting to the PS3 to do remote play, even over the internet I think, maybe you don't need to?

Either way, with the new fw 4.50, it should work, I believe, should you go through the process to set it up.

I am sorry but whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....?
Dragon Crown's 2D-but-not- really brawler action was annoying to me. I would always miss enemies because I was a little in front of or behind them.

That, and the story is worse, the character design is less appealing, and the loot system was worse. I enjoyed forging blades over the Diablo type loot system.

But it's mostly the gameplay that makes Muramasa better for me.

Uncharted Fight for Fortune 5.42€ VitaGaffers

Yay or nay? Dont know what to do :S

I've been thinking about getting this too. The only thing holding me back is that I haven't found all of the cards in GA.

It's pretty simple to play, there are three factions of cards, heroes, mercs and villains, each card has cost, defense, attack and some effects, some cards are "friends"(they got some bonus if together) others are "enemies"(a card deals some malus to another specific card) when you choose a card you can choose one treasure card from three covered cards, treasures are used to "buy" equipments cards that add more attack, defense or other to a card.
After one turn(some exceptions apart a card can't attack immediately) the card can attack the enemy card that has in front or the enemy directly if no card is blocking, who has 0 or less energy loses(sometimes the winning conditions are different).

It's a good little game imo, but i only enjoy card games where i can see my opponent acting like the best player ever at the beginning of the duel and then crying at the end for the humiliating defeat lol(=only yugioh tag force games sadly :( )

I pretty sure another Vita update still is coming that need it to work, supposedly soon. I read it on one of the Sony forums or blogs since I could not get it to work yet, the PS3 system update is ready to go wifi to Vita, but Vita still need another update.

I should have picked up EDF it went back up in price I was hoping it be still up later Tuesday

Got a Vita today, but still waiting for the 32GB memory card to turn up from Amazon which may not arrive until after the weekend :(

I was thinking of buying Persona, and play that in the mean time, but does it need to install data or can I play it without a memory card?

Dragons Crown getting Cross Play PS3/Vita in the next update!

Nice!

http://dragons-crown.com/info/2013/10/ps3psvita-4.html
Great news!
I'll be sure to grab it soon
If I can afford it
Worms is up too
Anyone end up buying it? I'd love to hear some impressions on how decent a port it is. The screenshots don't make it look too pretty and the steep price ($22 AU) doesn't make it easier to bite on it either, but on the other hand I really love portable Worms.

Sweet, just got a just-guard ability in Malicious. The game is a bit deeper than I thought. Some of the weapon-switch combos either don't exist or have strict timing (like swords to fists).

i find the vita uncomfortable to control/handle after playing for a bit.

but after adding the biogenik grip and dpad and thumbstick mod.
holding the vita in my hands feels so nice now and it even plays as well as any controller i have ever used.

so i've been testing out vita's media playback and wireless playback capabilities.
and i have to say i am impressed with the vita hardware.

basically. since the 2.60 update (i believe?). vita is able to play 1080p mp4 videos via usb AND wireless through the content manager software on PC.

via usb. the vita can pretty much play direct bluray rips. provided its in mp4 formats. i'm talking 30000+ kbps bitrate here. and the vita plays it flawlessly. via usb

to play videos wireless. vita can play up to 15000 kbps bitrate videos (actually smooth playback even up to 18000 kbps but with an seldom freezes.

still very impressive considering even at 5000 kbps bitrate. movies still look mighty impressive.

and i'm doing all this with my average at best router/ethernet setup and also, watching movies on my vita wirelessly doesn't take up any noticeable bandwidth. seems vita direct connects to pc via ethernet/routher).

to get decent video image quality with decent file size.
convert the videos at 2500 kbps.

that's around 2-3 gb for an full hd quality movie to watch on the vita.

yes, the oled screen is a little saturated and colour reproduction is not as accurate as even my lcd tv screen.
but the little saturation may be a good thing if you watch high bitrate movies on the tiny vita screen because you see every colours and detail (background especially) stands out beautifully and action scenes look hella good.

i am definitely a believer in OLED, too bad we will probably never get some kind of colour adjustment settings and vita definitely needs more video/music format support.

only mp3/wav and mp4 supported is kind of pitiful for such a fine piece of hardware.

movides i've ripped and converted to mp4s:

beserk golden arc 3 (high bitrate mkvs)
world world z (bluray rips)
brave (br rips)
esape planet earth (br rips)
lone ranger (br rips)

"Finished" Killzone Mercenary (I say it like that because I haven't done any contracts yet, just the story) in around 4.5 hours. It was a pretty decent game with a lot of promise in its level design but I think I agree with the reviews that had it around a 6/10. It's even jankier and more clumsy than a normal Killzone game and that makes doing some of the other stuff, like stealth, reeeally hard. Once you're spotted they don't ever forget about you either and there's no restart checkpoint option so you have to die (and then re-collect any intel you had just found). The framerate was really rough at times especially the last battle, but thankfully that lock up issue I had went away around mission 3. The graphics were nice for a handheld game but since they were trying to emulate console graphics I was left mostly unimpressed, like I said before it felt like it was stuck somewhere between looking like Killzone 1 and 2.

So while it was a nice effort I can't help but feel like it suffered from the patented "Sony handheld B-team game" effect. Meaning it's impressive for the hardware it was on but it fell short in many areas compared to its console brothers, both in graphics and gameplay. I'm not sure if I'm going to dive into multiplayer or most of the contracts, it'll be tough doing the covert ones with such a busted stealth system.

P4G needs a memory card for save data.

Very few games don't need a memory card. From my own collection, the only ones I know of are Touch My Katamari and Muramasa Rebirth. On these games your save data and updates are stored on the game card itself, and the bubble/livearea is entirely stored in the Vita internal memory, and disappears between factory resets until you put the card back in.

Malicious rebirth? Any reason not to buy? About to the walk to a wee-fee cafe now, will take vita... Guess I'll have a burger for dinner again :p
