Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Aw come on, it was better than AC III and a great game in its own right.

A solid 7/10 that works more as a proof of concept, if only they'd go back and do it again but better this time.

I didn't like AC3, but it was a lot better than Liberation

EDIT: Buy Persona 4, Velocity, Virtue's Last Reward
And Aytrial should buy pokemon

No one should remember AC:L, awful game

I remember it. And apparently not the same way you do.

Have they fixed the PSM version's loading times that got bugged?

I think so?
Toto's gonna love what Futurlab is doing these days!

Speak for yourself.

I loved it. Wasn't perfect but it beat my lofty expectations for what a handheld could achieve, in the AC realm.

This is more like it.
I dunno about 7/10, but I thought it was fun and a good proof of concept of what the Vita could do. With refinement another installment could be right up there with the other top "exclusives". It really felt like I was playing AC on my portable.

Nobody asked for this.
That doesn't matter. There will be people that will buy it. So your statement is inherently wrong. It doesn't matter what games come to the Vita, as long as they do, even more will follow. The more the better. And obviously, this is a great sign, someone thought well enough of the Vita and it's owners that Spiderman is coming to it. There's other consoles you can't say that about.

Hi VitaGAF, new owner here! Could I have some game recommendation please?

I have:

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, Little Big Planet, Wipeout 2048, Motorstorm

I am already buying:

Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Dragon's Crown, Persona 4, Killzone: Mercenary

Any must haves that I have missed? I like all types of games.

Get Spelunky, definitely. You can try either the demo, or the pixel art free PC version, to see if you like it. It's a hard-as-nails platformer roguelike, and it's amazing.

Also, cool Korra avatar. :)

I actually preferred it to some of the more recent AC games, as there were a lot of parts where I actually felt like an assassin (stealthing and the like) rather than a superhero. I far preferred it to AC3 for that same reason.

Don't forget Hotline Miami. Yesboss! recommended it to me and it's incredibly addictive after you get the hang of how it plays, so I'm trying to do the same for others. ;)

Oh and one more thing: EDF! EDF! EDF!

That and I feel like the main character was far more likable than Ezio or Conner.

I've only played 3 AC games (haven't gotten to Brotherhood/Revelations/3 yet), but out of AC, AC2, AC:L, it's my 2nd favorite. :)

HM is a free PS+ game this month!!! no reason for everyone to skip it anymore. ( including me!)

Man the amazing spiderman looks worse than some bad looking psp games! I mean look at it!

It doesn't look THAT worse imo and spiderman 2 it's not one of the best looking psp games(it was one of the launch games too IIRC!)...

damn, give me some time.

done

Spiderman still coming for vita? Oo isnt it a bit late for a moviebased game? (i really liked the x360 version though)

Well I strongly disagree, that time wasted on porting a shitty licensed game could have been spent on something worthwhile instead.

Honestly, so long as it runs well and isn't exorbitantly expensive, I'll probably go for it. I like Spiderman games.

Drinkbox have two great games on Vita that I highly recommend:

Guacamelee (Metroidvania game set in Mexico)

Mutant Blobs from Outer Space

I just started playing Guacamelee, had no idea on the greatness that I was missing out on. Mutant Blobs was one of the first games I bought off PSN, it's also a great game with some funny gameplay elements.

Currently these are what I have in Vita:

DJMax Technika Tune, DOA5Plus, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa Rebirth, NFS Most Wanted, Rayman Origins, Soul Sacrifice, The Walking Dead, Touch My Katamari, WipEout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, AC III Liberation, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, Gravity Rush, Killzone Mercenary, Persona 4 Golden...

Dokuro, Machinarium, Super Stardust Delta, Mutant Blobs Attack, Pinball Arcade, Hotline Miami, Knytt Underground, Zen Pinball 2, Guacamelee!, Thomas Was Alone...

Gods Eater Burst, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Metal Slug XX, Valhalla Knights...

Breath of Fire 4, Harvest Moon Back to Nature.

I have 58 bucks on my wallet right now and I am bloody confused on what games should I buy next. 1.5 GB on MC left, but I can swap and erase as necessary if required... so guys, recommend me games to buy please :)

You mean Drinkbox.

But Futurlab games are awesome as well

Spelunky, definitely. Amazing platformer.

So my DC save from the US copy won't transfer to the PAL copy either through cloud save or in game save. I kind of expected that to happen anyway but I'm still a little sad. I might switch it up and roll a knight this time.

::shudder::
I don't think anyone should ever *want* to use the Fighter.

I can't convince myself to bite on DC. Why? I don't really have a meaty Vita game at the moment, it looks beautiful and it seems like something I'd enjoy. Perhaps because spending recently has been insane, and with so many other things coming up that's not going to change for a while.

It did not look that good on an actual PSP screen. I played it on a PSP over the summer, and it was hideously ugly and the characters all moved really jerkily. If ASM on the Vita has action that flows, I can forgive it for not being the best-looking game on the system.

Well...
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=81127129&postcount=2962

Why do they even bother? I don't want to play a game that ugly and if Boarderlands2 will look like that, too, and I am pretty sure it will, I don't want to play that either...
Thats just bullshit.

That's not vita's fault, psp gta games were well made, gravity rush and need for speed were sub native res, but it's like looking at resistance fall of man and saying that vita can't do better looking fps, vita need someone that wants to do the killzone mercenary of open world games.

I really enjoyed AC Liberation. As like, the first open world game on the Vita, it showed that open world games are more than possible on the handheld. I also really like Aveline and the setting. There's still a lot of potential in a follow up AC on the Vita.

What I'm really hoping for is a Vita inFAMOUS title. I'm not sure who I'd want to develop it, though, since Sucker Punch is busy with Second Son. Sanzaru would have been nice, looking at how well they handled Sly Cooper.

This is horrible.

I think this is the biggest downgrade from consoles to Vita so far worse than Ratchet FAA . should've put some AA at least.

And I'm not sure why we got Spiderman, was it because Sony Pictures? I mean if Sony is the one behind this (like Epic Mickey 2) then there are other shit Sony can throw money at Activision to get (Skylanders, COD, Deadpool, Crash PSones..ect) but if this is all Activision then it's still waste of time and they should've ported another game that can sell (again like COD or Skylanders)

Sanzaru is on the PS4 bandwagon.

Vita might get Tingaint to port Infamous Festival of Blood and make it run at 15 fps.

I don't see patapon on the list. Give it a shot if you haven't played it before.

You can also get gurumin. Toto always mentions that game.

How come? I'm choosing him solely based on aesthetics, I may change my mind if he isn't fun. I was initially playing a sorceress so I figured I'd choose something as polar opposite as possible.

He's slow and boring. Very basic. All of his abilities are kinda useless.
I thought the Dwarf was a better melee character, as he had more variety in what he could do in terms of skill tree.
Amazon was the best melee type character for me.

If people want me to play DC with them, I'd be using anyone but the fighter... I never plan on touching him ever again now that I have my platinum.

Side note: If you're a graphics "enthusiast", you probably shouldn't own a handheld. Go play your games on PC or consoles. :P

Yes yes yes. I started figuring out the weapon switch and now it's just... slightly fun enough to get fun out of the time I put in. But, it's just barely. Maybe I'll keep playing the the PS3 version. I'll think about EDF instead.

Ah, a shame. I guess it just isn't for you.
Check out some EDF vids if you haven't already. Very cheesy, very fun, but grind heavy if you want to get the best weapons.

An insider already confirmed infamous for vita

Is that what we were doing last night? :lol
Who gets what loot in your methods? I was always thinking I wanted to get a big chunk of the stuff but didn't want to take what wasn't mine or whatever and piss you guys off.

Truthfully, I'm happy right now to be grinding out my shield and revive trophies so I'm not dependent on online for trophies at all.

Side note: If you're a graphics "enthusiast", you probably shouldn't own a handheld. Go play your games on PC or consoles. :P

I do most of my gaming on PC but this is nonsense.

and PSVita is not some weakass hardware for me to be happy or A-ok with something like Spiderman, we got and played amazing looking games that beyond PS2 and very close to PS3 in quality in Vita first two years like Killzone: Mercenary, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Wipeout 2048, Virtua Tennis 4 and Toukiden, many games look sharp with tons of AA and high polycount, again PSVita is not shitty hardware but these ports and these developers are lazy and want people who defend their bad ports to reward them on their shitty job.

I was excited about ASM, until I see those pictures. I'll wait to see some gameplay videos until I decide whether to buy it or not, though.

I'll probably try the Amazon too. I will get to them all eventually I suppose.

I'm not much of a graphics enthusiast, but that's not to say I can't appreciate good visuals. When I said aesthetics I was referring to the art style.

Nonsense, if vita can do better why should i be satisfied with those graphics?
It's not a matter of how those graphics look in absolute, obviously vita can't compare to pc anyway, it's about how those graphics compare to what vita could do.

Malicious rebirth is a bit of a technical marvel to me. Really fun (fast) game play and a Great price too, really glad I have it and at only 633 mb it's not leaving soon. Just up to the final stage, got everything but not played on hard yet. So much going on at times, Vita is taking a bit if a beating. Reminds me of dmc mixed with gravity rush but it does leave you to it to figure things out, bit retro but I like it. You can ask the dude in the scene selection for more info.

Omegas you said you noticed framerate issues on the rebirth playthrough, haven't unlocked it yet but I'm close. It has been mostly good (especially for what it's showing) on medium.

64gb will be sweet, really looking forward to seeing most of the games together, will start saving for it.

Also spiderman looks pretty alright, looking forward to some swinging between buildings so will likely pick it up. Shame it wasn't batman in 3d instead imo but let's not start anything.. :p

After Angry Birds Trilogy, and The Amazing Spiderman I wonder which pointless Activision port Vita will get next. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct? Men In Black: Alien Invasion? Fast & Furious: Showdown? Deadpool? Perhaps the first Skylanders?
