Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

famousmortimer confirmed it'll happen

Ah.
Thanks!

EDIT:
Yeah, I should clarify that. I've heard it's coming from people in the know that have heard it's coming. Which is good enough (Borderlands 2, for instance, was info like this). But I haven't heard it from anyone actually working on or who has seen the game running. So i have different levels of confidence... infamous isn't MAX confidence, but like Borderlands 2 (which obviously was true) I do believe it.

Thanks for clarifying. Hopefully it's more like Killzone Mercenary and less like Resistance Burning Skies.

Is that all you're hearing for big 2014 releases? :\

It's the only one I know of. But it's not the only one. Much like whatever SSM or Guerrilla's other game is on the PS4... people that I know in Sony know that they are making PS4 games (in Guerrila's case - in addition to KZ) but they have no idea what they are. I'm hearing the same shit with vita games - they are in the pipeline but they aren't known about company-wide.

Ricen-beans... this is my shitty blog where I also house my podcast. The newest episode is me and my wife - it's not all that video-gamey. 210 has some decent vita talk. There's also an episode a few weeks back that is about my pipedream involving the Vita TV bringing back the AA/B level games. I like to dream...

Another PSP game I want is not available in the USA but available in the UK (Sid Meier's Pirates.) There are at least half another dozen games I'd buy for my Vita if we could just switch accounts easily.

I believe the Vita TV will sell very well, even more so once the PS4 is released. And if it does sell well, I also dream it will bring more and bigger games to Vita.

And as a bonus, since they would have to be Vita TV compatible, none of them will force us to use touch controls :)

yeah PSP games on Vita store situation is bad, for months nothing new or of value got add to the store and it seems they forgot about it (maybe PSvita TV will revive it?).

did you got Gurumin?

Is that the Zelda type game? I have recently got into Wind Waker via the Wii U and I love it. It's my first Zelda game and I wish there was something like that I could play on my Vita.

From what I heard, due to incompatibility of some Vita games, VitaTV has it's own storefront... I wouldn't be surprised that any SCEA release of the product results in another attempted slow-trickle of incomplete support as a "marketing" plan, with a different selection of "compatible" titles on VitaTV. Meanwhile, EU will get the whole PSOne/PSP library on day 1 or something.

You dun fucked up.

*dragon's crown brofist*

Glad you're diggin' it. Hit me up if you want backup sometime. I'll bust out one of my characters I've only cleared the game on normal with (probably elf/amazon/wizard).

i'm weeping now frost :(
sigh this is what happens when I leave the enclave of VitaGAF :(

is Malicious worth buying?

As a massive Zelda fan, welcome aboard! There isn't really a 3D Zelda alternative on the Vita, but if you want a 2D Zelda-style game, Alundra is pretty good.

I hope Vita TV can switch region accounts like a PS3. If it can I'll be importing it as soon as I hear the news.

how's the replayability and length of the game?

Length is short - maybe 6 hours. You choose stages like megaman and than fight the chosen boss in an arena with enemies. Killing the boss gives you a new ability that you can use on the next fight.
I think it's replayable, but that's just because I enjoy learning new ways to kill bosses in free mode.

I'm hosting a EDF room if anyone wants to play.

I'll check when I get off SS. :)

I didn't like Alundra so much -- the platforming was too ridiculous in a lot of parts. Besides, it's definitely not the same as 3D zelda -- and I think he'd be better off getting the LttP sequel for his 3DS in November.

As for Gurumin -- it might be close, not sure how the dungeon portions of the game are, toto would have to tell you, I haven't dropped $15 to be able to play it.

And I think your wish for Vita TV is probably unlikely.

how's the replayability and length of the game?

Replayability is only good if you like to play the stages in general as it's a boss rush game.

seems pretty decent value for a budget priced title. speaking of which I finished the killzone mercs campaign today and I really wish there was more to it.

Has anyone else tried using a unofficial external battery pack to charge the vita?? I really don't wanna spend 40~50 bucks on the official one.

I've been really enjoying Dragon's Crown so far and finally unlocked multiplayer only to the dismay of not being able to find any random rooms online to join. Is there anyone here that would be willing to join me sometime? My PSN is Co1onel-225

Omg............that is ridiculous!

They were taken off the PSN Store the summer before Vita released -- so I'm guessing Sony can't get IREM to update the licensing.

Shame, as I specifically bought them before they were taken off to play on my Vita one day in the future.

At least IREM has an excuse for not updating the licensing to include Vita.

What happens if the game you bought is no longer on PSN?

Is it absolutely no longer re-downloadable? Or is it downloadable via Download list?

Superhero spam this fall:

- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril
- Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate
- Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
- The Amazing Spiderman

I want the DS version to be dropped. At least with the 3DS being the leader version we'll get something decent. Still, Injustice looks pretty good. Hope we start seeing some adds soon.

And guys, was Terraria supposed to get a Vita retail release? Because Amazon Spain has this for preorder.

Am I missing something?

Probably a port of the standalone PSN game... Blood Festival?
Festival of Blood would make no sense. It relies heavily on Infamous 2's assets, even gives you access to half its playable area. Porting the engine and world for such a short game would be a waste.

The lol was in response to that not being on Vita in any way.
The app is meant to give non-gamers who are intimidated by traditional controllers a way to play the game using a device they're more comfortable with. Putting it on the Vita would defeat its purpose.

Ban was lifted on my birthday, lol.

Hot dang Injustice looks like a big improvement over MK9. It actually has, like, lighting and shadows and stuff so that's a start. Definitely gonna pick it up.

I remember an interview with Nate Fox where he was asked about Infamous Vita and he acted pretty suspicious.
Yeah, he said they weren't ready to talk about anything Vita and then immediately looked sad he had accidentally said that, lol.

I wouldn't expect it to be Sucker Punch developed, though. Maybe another studio working on it
(Bend?)
with Sucker Punch assisting.

Wasn't Sanzaru hiring people for a PS3 / Vita game not too much ago? They could be doing Infamous Vita since february, with some aid from Sucker Punch.

People said they handled Sly4 pretty well, so I'll feel safe if they continue their relationship with Sucker Punch.

I don't know why, but I don't really want Bend to make Infamous. And releasing another Uncharted for Vita next year would be a shitty decision if there is a ND Uncharted game for PS4 next year.

IMO they may be doing a Vita exclusive and a TLOU port for the PS4. That's why it was said they are working on Sony's nextgen console, and it would be a pretty good way to get into the PS4 architecture.

But if what i've said it's true, their next game could be the last game they develop for the PSV.

If we have AAA games, what are indies considered? A? I want AA games to come back, too.

So remember when I said there were some really weird ports of PS360 games coming...?

Are these weird PS360 games still on track? And are we talking about a couple of them or half a dozen of them?

Of course if it is too much feel free to ignore my questions.I am just curious so see where this is going.:P

Hey guys. Weird question. Can I use the savegame of a PS1 game I'm playing on Vita and convert to use on a PC emulator like ePSXe (is it ok to ask this? I have the game after all).

Hints here at cross platform save compatibility/cloud saving for FM 2014 classic;

@shahidkamal: What @milesSI and his talented, experienced team are going for on the Vita with #FM14 is unparalleled and highly ambitious. I can’t wait.

@shahidkamal: Just imagine being able to pick up your desktop game of #FM14 Classic where you left off on your Vita. Then back again.

That was already confirmed when they announced the release date:
Cross-save with PS Vita

Football Manager Classic players will not only be able to continue a single career across the three computer platforms, they will also be able to continue that same career while mobile on their PS Vita (the PS Vita version of FM 2014 is also required). The PS Vita game will also be the first handheld version of Football Manager to feature the 3D match engine.

Pretty sure it was because IREM went out of business.

Jeez, take 24 hours off from this thread and famousmortimer comes in and drops bombs. Infamous Vita sounds like an awesome idea, can't wait to see what they come up with!
