Looking pretty awesome!
Looking pretty awesome!
Also the T-Rex idea is such a logical prehistoric trope for Pokemon to use, I'm surprised it took them over 15 years to think of it.

I wish Nintendo not understanding the internet was just a meme. What does this meme have to do with this thread?
I wish Nintendo not understanding the internet was just a meme.I'm sure SSB4's online will be perfectly serviceable at worst this time around though.
Nintendo just doesn't get the Internet.
Think about what Sakurai has done. What does this meme have to do with this thread?
I expect communication via Gamepad squiggle taunts. And we will love it.Nintendo just doesn't get the Internet.

Very likely, unless there is some kind of current equivalent to Spear Pillar.Amazing! I hope it's pokeball pokemon.
Big question is when he'll reveal today..
Man, this is so cool.
I think he's being genuine when he says they have nothing today.
We get stages we've seen for months at various different goofy angles, and then he drops a new Pokeball character and you guys think more is coming?
Since Xerneas's model is backwards, why is it? The distance between Pikachu and it seems to suggest its more of a stage hazard, but what can it do as one and is it turning around to leap from the stage
Not that I disagree with your conclusion (I don't have an opinion either way), but I never thought we should take that 3DS games=3DS stage/Wii U games=Wii U stages as gospel. In other words, I don't think the "rule" is as rigid as some people suggest.Well, I don't think it's a stage hazard or stage at all because of one simple reason. Pokemon X and Y are 3DS-based games, so if it's stage hazard then we would have got 3DS screenshot instead of Wii U. It's easier to figuring out due to stage exclusive between Wii U and 3DS. I think it's pokeball pokemon for sure.

I know he mentioned something about some 3DS stages being based on handheld games and Wii U stages being based on console games, but I don't think he meant this to be an absolute rule when determining which game gets which stages. I could be wrong, but that was my interpretation.I thought Sakurai confirmed that? Now I'm not sure but I will looking around for the sources to make sure.

HE'S TEASING US.
Sakurai and I have come to an agreement that he'll announce more Pokémon related things in Smash when I have beaten the story in X.
I haven't reached the second gym.
Its actually happening?
In doubt, go to smashbros.com and refresh the page to make sure that you are not dreaming.![]()
So, is this an X/Y related stage (probably not since this is the Wii U version), a character, or the reveal of Pokeballs?
Playable Xerneas would actually be pretty great.
Pokemon defies logic/rules. There could pretty much be an X/Y stage in Wii U.
I imagine if we do get an X/Y specific stage, it'd be presented as a variation of the Pokemon Stadium trope we've had in the last two games while the 3DS version would get something based on an in-game location like the Tower of Mastery or a tour of Lumiose City.
I think Smash and Pokemon are on equal logic defying levels, really.
Personally I'd want Super Training stage.
Like you are on a Pokemon balloon and Pokemon are firing soccer balls at you.
