RUMOUR: Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p, PS4 version is 1080p?

I SEE NO DIFFERENCE.

Not a big deal.

I sit 15 ft away from the TV anyway.

You don't see a difference in clarity here?

Why pay $100 extra for the one with worse performance.

This thread is hilarious. Been a good sour e of troll material with my buddies, but whatever guys. 720p, 480p, I honestly don't give a fuck.

Its nice when you don't have to worry about picking only one platform to play games on.

Next year, I add Sony's and Microsoft's to my home and get Call of Duty on whichever platform has the best version.

Oh, I'm not commenting on the news itself at all. And this isn't any sort of warning. I'm just throwing out a different take to get on the record that banderas.gif isn't beloved by all. Any enjoyment I derived from it died a while back once I saw its 500th variant.

But don't mind me. Carry on.

The beauty of this one is that it plays off that. That he is actually out there seeing the overused GIF and yet he reacts the same way to it every single time. That absolutely kills me, I've been intermittently cracking up for over an hour.

Cuz I'm busy playing actual games and not counting pixels.

Sorry guys, I'm not serious. These are some of the hilarious denial posts I've seen recently.

Sethos is sleeping I think, he'll have a field day with this one.

I'm on holiday at the moment on the other side of the world and I can hear the bombs dropping from here. The world is burning.

I still can't get over how profoundly horrendous Ghosts looks even on the better platform.

I know, now imagine that at 720p instead, you've just got home from the store with a $500 console a $60 game, a $60 season pass and a $60 XBLG sub.

$680 for that at 720p, what a disapointing launch day.

Which mod said wait until you get upset? What was that all about?

Y2Kev was saying we should wait for Mort's confirmation before flying off the handle like gaf tends to do. I don't think he was alluding to the information being incorrect, just telling everyone to chill out for the moment.

cool, i'm not alone

;)

I'm sitting in front of my 60" TV as monitor and I definitely can tell a difference even in the quoted size. The original size was quite stark in its difference.

heh. Unless you are serious, in which case you need to change your avatar.

It's a big deal, because assuming Sony shot your dog sometime over the last 7 years (so a PS4 is out of the question), if you have a 360... why shell out $500 to upgrade to an XBox One? For that kind of scratch, I want a big difference in performance. Hell, I'd just stick to the 360 and my PC.

Dude, I'm an old man with glasses. I can see the difference with my glasses off.

I know you're joking but I can't believe someone actually said that.

I see a huge difference, the 720p version looks all muddy, 1080p version is sharp. Why are you sitting so far from your tv?

Then advancement is really slowing down, it only took five years to add 120 lines from the Quake 3 engine on Dreamcast.

herm... I think he is joking.

Edit: well he said. Its artist and his avatar gave away ( anyone who cares about G-sync really cares about IQ)

No doubt about it. You had people who knew games running the brand. Not suits that want to have Skype calls and watch The Price is Right on their TV while waiting for a match to load in Ghosts.

I still think they have some tempting launch titles I even put a basic deposit down but you are right imo, the focus and change is clear as day. J Allard and co are missed.

That is funny, but true at the same time. It's actually quite sad when I sit here and think of the fun I had with the OG Xbox and my 360, when none of that shit was a concern.

No, but...

Especially for Call of Duty. Look, am I bummed that a lot of XB1 games are not coming out at the best possible resolution? Yes, of course I am. However, I have no real control over that. One might say that I could just get a PS4 instead and then all of my problems would be solved. However, I don't want a PS4. What I want is an Xbox One. For some on this forum my preference for choosing to get an Xbox One might seem strange or even crazy especially considering all that has happened on this forum and in the real world for the past several months. Does this make me just some random ignorant Sony hating Xbox fanboy? No. Thanks to this forum I am way more aware of how good of a console the PS4 will be. I know more about both of these consoles than I would have ever wanted to ever since I started to lurk through this site back in May. My increased knowledge in both the PS4 and the Xbox One has still not changed how I view Xbox consoles and the numerous years and good memories that I have had owning and playing them. I know that the Xbox One is weaker than the PS4. That fact has been smacked into my brain non-stop for the last several months. While my post up to this point may have sounded incredibly passive-aggressive and "salty", I am legitimately happy for future PS4 owners. They have a great console and some really cool games to look forward to. However, I still love Xbox. I am still a big fan of the Halo franchise and I very much look forward to playing TitanFall on the Xbox One come March 11th. In these times, I choose to be optimistic that the overall performance of the Xbox One will improve with time. I'm sure that everyone here would agree that Gears of War 3 looks leaps and bounds better than Gears of War 1. It is my hope that the process of graphical improvement that took place between GOW1 and GOW3 will repeat itself on Xbox One games. But still to this day, the most important thing for me is having fun playing a game. I do want my games to look good, I mean who wouldn't? As it stands, most of the Xbox One games now actually look really good to me. So the possibility that a game in a franchise that I really really don't like won't look as good on the Xbox One isn't worth a whole hill of beans to me. So yet again, with emphasis...

If you don't care about resolution, why do you have a PC? Just curious.

there is nothing wrong with posts like that. if ps4 had a forza equivalent at launch (gt6 :sadface), or a halo equivalent in the pipes (my favorite game by far), or an official date for titanfall, then i'd have a hell of a lot more interest in picking up the cheaper, more powerful system. but from my point of view - if i got a ps4 over an x1 it would simply be because of its extra p's and certainly not for its games.

as a gamer, that is silly and should be ridiculed.

Welp! I didn't think the IQ could be worse on Xbox 720 but I was wrong.

Because this news combined with the internet is really REALLY funny. :)

Bad tech news is always good news as far as I'm concerned, somebody screws up, jokes are made, somebody else picks up the ball and runs with it and all is made well, nobody is hurt, unless you're sympathetic to multi-million dollar corporations.

99% of the time I end up with a smile on my face!

I'm not sympathetic to any company. I DO buy all consoles though so I guess I'm less inclined to join in a "doom-fest". But anyway, that still didn't answer my question. PS4 owners still get a 1080p game, PC gamers still get a 1080p game so why would the 180 getting a 720p version make anyone happy? PS4 gamers didn't get anything extra, unless they believed that MS had enough money to force parity for 8 years.
