Because Ryse is developed by Crytek specifically for XboxOne. Crytek are some of the most talented developers pushing high end, optimized visuals.

I'm hoping this is still a issue with the drivers being behind. Next year maybe we'll see a higher res COD. Knowing XB1 is weaker and with the specs I would be okay with 1080 vs 900, but this is extreme.

..and it's 30fps? It seems the tendency is that 60fps games will do 720p on Xbox One as a general rule, or suffer horribly in the IQ department (Forza).

Right, to me. My question to you (and I can't believe we're doing this) is who was the parable for? The guys going 180 only have said more than once that they are doing so for the sake of exclusives. The parable makes it sound like there's a ton of people here clambering for a 180 to play inferior 3rd party games and that hasn't happened. Like at all.

probably not, but if this is true it will set a precedent for the all the games that come after. re-enforcing the idea that multiplats will look better on PS4. CoD resolution isn't the real story here, we must go deeper

Sounds like your loyalty lies more with the brand than with the games. I used to be like that, and I am a Sony head but with the PS3 I waited until it was cheaper and worth paying for. But if X1' exclusives are making you want one badly then kudos to you.

A good bit of it is brand loyalty, I will fully admit that. I've been with Xbox since Halo CE and I've never had a good enough reason to jump ship since. Other reasons are that all of my friends are getting XB1s, I supremely disliked the PS3 controller and am not convinced that I would enjoy the PS4 controller as a result of it being its successor, and because I have more faith in XBL. I will say this though, the closet that I have gotten to getting a PS3 was when I saw The Last of Us came out. Love the concept, love the story, love the new take on "the infected". I've actually been planning to get a PS3 for years but it just never happened and with the PS4 coming out it doesn't make sense for me to get one at all anymore.

Some months ago there was an info that Sony was on PS4 around 4-6months ahead in software development compared to Microsoft on XBO. Maybe the first games on XBO will be crap because of this.

This would definitely give credence to the expectation that BF4 is running at a higher res than on PS4 than Xbone as well.

Just how many games are we going to see this repeated on? So much for there not being a significant difference between these consoles if this becomes a prevailing theme. Maybe XB1 games are all just further behind? At the end of the day, these are still launch games. Development pipelines are still being hashed out all around. I imagine we'll start seeing developers hit 1080p more often on the Xbone in the coming years. This is a bad start though.

We're tossing numbers around without any concrete agreeable reference.

My qualitative point is that Crytek designing a game specifically for Xbox One will be hard to beat. It would be like someone making a better looking game on PS3 or PS4 than Naughty Dog.

Naughty Dog is your reason to get one. Multiple people who have hated on the DS3 controller think that the DS4 is a massive improvement and some of them have said that it's out right better than the Xbox One controller.
