Ok, so it's 720p.

There's no way in hell that you saw it running and couldn't tell the resolution. And you know that seeing the game running vs watching videos online isn't in the same league.

The upscaler you put in is very good, I'm sure. Also, don't send anyone out to kill me. Thanks.

So good.gif

First - I don't know the resolution. I don't have more sophisticated tools than anyone else. I watch the game on a nice TV with the XBO set to 1080p for every game, there is no way for me to know what's native vs. upscaled unless I'm told.

Albert, you're preaching to the choir here. I set my 360 to also play games in 1080p. I also prefer using phone apps on my tablet.

Man these threads crack me up. Well done on the Nickelback gif.

I'm not going to convince anyone differently, but it's funny how people interpret the tweet as confirmation.

Second, if I did know, it wouldn't be my place to say anything.

If the Ryse footage last week showed me anything, it's that you get a much more interesting discussion when you're looking at real footage.

So now I've seen the PS4 footage, and I've seen XBO running live. To me, they both look great.

The resolution will be what it will be. It will be known when Activision wants it to be known. The only thing I was curious about was if the games look different, and based on the assets available to me, they don't.

So I think when XBO footage comes out, and people can compare resolutions, effects, framerate and other things the debate will be more interesting.

All that doesn't come across in Twitter-sized bites.

I understand YMMV and all that but no footage of "Collar Duty: Ghastly" I've seen thus far can be classified as 'good', let alone 'great'. So I'm not convinced of the bolded paragraph at all.

I think mr mortimer should be banned for life if it isn't 720p.

Wow, two threads that go on endlessly for a CoD sequel? What nonsen--

"Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p on Xbox One."

...How do you drop that ball? Like, really; CoD? The game that's STILL running on an enhanced IdTech engine?! Pleaaaaaase.

Shame for X1; CoD's their smoking gun. Though, I really doubt the demographic of X1/CoD cares about resolution.

Can we stop saying this as though COD looks like Quake, ffs.

He's confirming 720p in a round about manner.

You are being way too logical and respectful for this thread. Don't worry I will give you my extra tinfoil hat and cardboard sword so you can fight the good fight with us!

So basically you are clueless but yet here to assure people it's "just as good."

About Ryse are you going to confirm here that the cutscenes are rendered real time on the X1 and are not pre-recorded footage?

Ok, so it's 720p.

I am no Xbone lover at all but the sources for this are just too unreliable. AP might simply not now enough game resolution to comment one way or the other. I'm a big skeptic, and I'm not buying it, because it's COD, not a graphical powerhouse. If it was 900p vs 1080p, it'd have more credibility with me.

I have One preordered to play with friends. But you have to admit there has been a lot of quietness coming from devs working on multiplatform games. A type of secrecy that rivals the console development themselves. The whispers and murmurs we do hear are not looking good. My main concern is this systemic of the consoles power itself or are we looking at half baked dev environment on rushed launch games...

Either way the ps4 fans who are cheering a weak One are really fools. This will mean a whole generation of GTAs, Resident Evils, etc all with gameplay designed around weaker hardware. This doesnt mean resolution bragging rights, this means less ambition in game design scope.

I wouldn't know the resolution just by looking at a game running on a TV either, so I personally accept what Mr Penello says. It seems reasonable to me, at least.

No need for finger pointing or recriminations or anything.

The nature of leaking high profile information is that stuff changes, sometimes a source is wrong, and you have to take the heat if so. Sure there is "e-prestige" that goes with it, but you're also putting your neck on the line and your reputation. It's not just nothing.

famousmortimer and CBOAT and these others like thuway and Proelite have proven they provide very solid information, on more than one occasion. If this particular leak was wrong, there's no reason to punish someone outright like that. One mistake versus many many successful posts? Come on bro. We want leakers to come here, right?

No offense to Albert, I know you're just doin your job. But I think in 5-6 yrs when this gen is over, we'll look back at the idea of Microsoft posting on neogaf in an official capacity as both pretty crazy and pretty stupid.

Albert, anything to say about the Titanfall 720p rumor? I don't care much for COD.

If it's not his place to talk about CoD's technical info, it's not his place to also talk about TitanFall.

That would be a question for Respawn/EA.

Trust me. Play enough PC games and sitting close to a monitor, you can tell the difference between native 720p and 1080p. It's not hard at all.

Damn, you just went for the jugular.

Hey Albert nice to see you.

Hey Albert I have a really nice TV as well and sometimes I even have the cinema to play games in and no no no no you will see the difference if not I recommend glasses. I got them and it made a real difference when I finally admitted that age had gotten to me as well. I'm better off with them than without so what I'm trying to say is go get glasses :)

Well you are trying so good for you, and I really mean that.
I know many people have been stuck with consoles only due to economical reasons or just "fear" for the PC but you must understand that this coming generation while it may be great it comparision to the old is still something of a disappointment.

"With the Power of the Cloud™, along with Xbox One™'s built in upscaling chip algorithm, differences in resolutions will be indistinguishable from competing platforms. Trust us, we have Beta tested this in the future"

- This PR statement was brought to you by Mountain Dew™. Drink Dew for Bonus XP in COD: Ghosts!"

Damn Mort, why the aggression? That's not like you. Besides, you kinda started this shit cycle lol. If you weren't comfy with the legitimacy you could have just not posted. What did you expect dropping that tease and leaving for so long? You know more than anyone the power of the internet :P

Somehow 720p isn't HD anymore. This thread is retarded. It's not even a big deal to 95% of the non-nerd customer base that's going to buy this game. You're literally laughing that one port isn't as HD at the other. Is this really what its come to.

It is a big deal when the cheaper console can run it natively at 1080p now isn't it? Also 8 years of better tech and they cannot even get COD to run at 1080p native? LOL
