Awesome thanks, its a Corsair. Ok one last question hah. My PSU doesn't have any 8 pin connectors. The gigabyte 770 requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin connection. Will I need to get three 6 pin connectors, convert two of them into an 8 pin and use the other one as it is?

What PSU do you have exactly? Corsair has some duff ones. You likely will need to convert them from molex using an adapter.
 
Euro GAF what should I do? I haven't been in Europe long so I'm not too familiar with the pricing here except that everything is more expensive when compared to US prices.

I have seen deals online for a GTX 780 for 441 Euros etc. This seems like a REALLY good deal as the 4GB GTX 770 was near these prices not too long ago. I also need a new card urgently.

Thing is the price cut is supposed to start on Oct 29th according to anandtech.

And the USD price for the 780 is $499, that is only 365 Euros or so...

So the questions:

1) Should I still continue to wait after Oct 29th and see what happens?
2) Will the price ever drop further from 441 Euros, and will it ever reach close to USD prices, or is this the best I can hope for?

Looks like we already have the price cut here in Europe. We never get direct conversion from US price. It has never worked like that.

Will it drop further? Who knows

I don't go beyond 1080p since I prefer to use my 42 inch 1080p set, so extreme resolutions are not going to be an issue for me. I haven't been with the red team since 2008 and I'm more likely to stick with Nvidia again. Hopefully by the time I build a new machine, the 780 will have had another price cut. I think even if Mantle offers anything better than a 10% improvement in framerates I'd still probably be swayed by Nvidia's software ecosystem and solid drivers. Though I'm certainly not ruling out the 290X.

It'll be interesting to see how things play over over the upcoming several months.

Decent. But even after these price cuts, the new AMD cards still seem to be winning in performance per dollar by a fair bit. Techreport said their competitor to the 770 was a bit higher in performance for 100 dollars less. A 50 dollar cut is nice, but it doesn't bring them there yet.

always felt like amd has the edge of performance per dollar for a bit now. But still the difference in performance is close enough that it makes more sense to pick which side's exclusive stuff you enjoy more.

You just have to look at that little label that breaks down your PSU's output.

Your's specifically is :

+3.3V@24A, +5V@24A, +12V@46A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@2.5A

The 12 V rail is what matters for GPUs, so you're good at 46 amps.

Let's put it this way: You can click a couple buttons in PrecisionX/Afterburner and stomp the 780Ti. I would be extremely surprised if it's more than 10-15% faster than a 780/Titan.

It's really a pointless money grab. I think we'll have to wait a few more months for the GTX 870/880 to really pick up sizable performance gains over the 780/Titan.
 
I want to upgrade but I've got so many questions since I've never done it before. Hopefully someone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. I'm considering upgrading over getting a next gen console this year.

First off, I've got a 660 Ti right now, would an upgrade to a 780 be worth it? Also which brand of the 780 do you recommend? I have no idea where to even start on that, preferrably something available on Amazon.

Second, this is my current Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293), Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197) and PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703027). Would I be able to get a 780 in there and have enough power for it?

Third, and this is the thing I've been wondering about, to change Graphics cards do I just take out the 660 ti, and then plug in the 780 or is there anything else I have to do (Do I have to uninstall drivers or something?). I'm interested in trying to Overclock the card as well (I'll have to learn of course) so would I need to buy a cooler? And if so, what would be a good one to buy that can fit in the case?

I"d appreciate any help I can get on that, I built my PC last year, but I still get nervous whenever it comes to opening it up and stuff.

Buy the 780 ACX. Great for noise and temps. Also is 2x a 660ti

We really don't know yet. All rumours I've seen indicate that the Ti will have 6GB of vram. If it has 3GB and 6GB models and 3GB is $700, then your point will be quite valid. On the other hand if it's 6GB only, then an overclocked Titan minus compute for $700 is pretty good.
 
I take it my PSU(600w) is good enough for the 780 or AMD offerings?

Really not sure if I should go for the 780 and sell the games or go with the 290x.
 
ive got a 570 now, will i see a big difference if i go to the 780? i have the 2500k intel chip from approx 2 years ago, do i need to update that too? or will my cpu bottleneck the new GPU?

Big jump up, your CPU is fine. Just overclock it.

It'll power them fine. At the minute I'd go 780 as the 290X is far, far too hot and noisy.

Your CPU wont bottleneck unless you play at something daft like 1280x720. Here's a useful comparison on many fronts between 570 and 780:

It'll be a really nice upgrade and improvements like Gsync, Shadowplay and new AA techniques can't be shown in a graph.

It's too early to tell. You might be able to say the same thing about the 780ti when it comes to overclocking it to pull away from the 780. Also, if it does have 6GB of vram, that might be worth it to some people's setups.
