Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

If you guys didn't notice by the way, there's a Killzone Mercs digital art book available for Vita for free on the store. Takes up ~750mb.

Can anyone confirm if uploaded save games from retail carts work with downloaded titles? I'm considering going all digital and I can't see why the saves wouldn't work but thought I'd check.

No idea, but I might as well join in:

Also, is there any chance Persona 4 Golden will become cheaper some day? It's more expensive than Killzone Mercenary. Seems a little over priced. Though I know you guys will tell me it's worth it.

It really is worth it.

And if there is one person on here you can trust when he says that, it's me. Why? Because...reasons, I guess.

In truth, I went into Persona 4 being a Persona noob. I think I played 15 minutes of Persona 3 FES on the PS3, and that was it. After playing Persona 4, I am now a frothing at the mouth Persona fanboy, and am eagerly awaiting Persona 5 (and hoping it hits Vita), and am now going back to my Persona 3 playthrough for a fix.

Persona 4 The Golden is now on my list of favorite RPGs. It started off slow, easing you into everything from gameplay mechanics, to story, to characters, but at some point it just grabs you, and you really can't stop playing. I sunk over 130+ hours into the game, and still didn't finish everything, or create all the various Personas. I'll go back to it and do some New Game+ stuff later, but I have a rather big Vita backlog, and am chipping away at it.

It really is worth it.

Is there any rumours at all of more PS3-Vita ports? I've been trying to mess with Pixeljunk but I just can't use the DS3 anymore... It's kind of disappointing.

Am i the only one wondering what the hell destiny of spirits do with more than 750mb? It's core is just a bunch of small images, yugioh tag force 3 for psp had 3000+ cards with complex attributes and effects(not just simple things like speed up or down), character sprites, character and monsters models, stories, minigames, dialogues etc in a little more than 800mb.

I want a yugioh tag force game :(

It always takes me a while of playing hotline miami not to suck, needs like super primed twitch responses.

Few days too late - it was super cheap on play asia and US version works normally since Vita is region free.

Hallelujah!

Edit (top of the page): preorder Ys Celceta & Tearaway!

That's good. I really hope the game isn't released in EU as a DD only. I want it in a case, so I'll probably import it. Even if Vita cases are so small and feel so empty :(

Can someone give me some help? I'm stuck in Stranger's Wrath. I'm with the third contract, Duke, and the two dudes with the rocketlauncher always kill me. Those grenades follow me, and I can't aim to them and run at full speed at the same time.

Two screens of an initially locked dengeon in vk3 just to annoy the haters :P

Not btkadams, but since I'm Canadian and have knowledge of such wonders, thought I would chime in.

Sounds like Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z's North American release will be a real winner. No Japanese voice over. No plans to release that as DLC. In fact, according to the rep I spoke to, the Vita version won't even get the preorder bonuses in this region or any DLC at all ...

Be sure to check out the P2 duology

Man feels like Wii U...

Though to be honest no DLC is the only deal breaker there.

I will try at home. I dont see any prompt to download a patch, like with PS3 games. I still new with Vita.

I played a lot of Where is My Heart. Pixel graphics look great. Vita needs some retro pack collection.

hit the "refresh" icon on the live area. if there's a patch, it will pop up a new yellow orb looking icon on the left of the existing icons.

how does bagged milk even work

I really want Valhalla Knights 3 and Batman Blackgate but cannot spare the money right now. There's just something about VK3 that appeals to me; it looks like a slightly janky PSP game and I like janky PSP games, haha.

Anyone has any experience with Nippon-yasan? Ordered a 64gb memory card from them, but my order has been stuck on "Preparation in progress" since Thursday.

Yes, they took forever to ship :P
I don't think they have anything 'in stock', they seem to order it when you do.

Yeah, thought so :D. Wonder how painful it is to have a bazillion of games to play and being unable to because you don't have a memory card.

Sad thing is, I won't have to wonder for long :(.

About as painful as buying the closest 4GB card you can find to later use as your foreign account card!

Thanks, sounds like it would be a pain to store on shelves/fridge.

About nassan yassan I ordered mine from there a few days ago and it just got updated to processing today...
... Reading the other replies I'm starting to think I should have just gone for playasia.
Hate companies that advertise things they don't have in stock. Tempted to cancel and order with playasia out of spite but then I'd have to risk a delay. No way. So many bubbles... Soon

Ok, I believe! I've heard so much about it, I've nearly bought it so many times, I'm just going to buy the thing. I thought i'd be playing Final Fantasy X by now, who knows when that will come out. P4G will have to take it's place.

Nothing so far on Football Manager, just 2014 :/ it's my most anticipated title.

2014? ;(
I really need my football managing fix and on the Vita it would be optimal. Only sucks that DJMax will have to leave my game card slot when FMC 2014 gets released. The game won't be released in Germany because EA has an exclusive deal with the DFL.

Muramasa keeps getting better and better, so glad I risked the PSN purchase, well worth the £20. Just finished chapter 6 as Kisuke and the story is great. When combined with the visuals it makes for a hell of a game.

After failing to enjoy Persona 4 I thought that I was gonna regret my repurchase of a Vita but this combined with Limbo, Escape Plan and Guacamelee has made it my favourite gaming related purchase of the year.

I've already decided that I will be downloading FMC 2014 through PSN so that it's always in my Vita.

Wow, so they ported Mirror of Fate over to the PS3 (and I assume other non-portable platforms as well), but not the Vita?

RE Revelations all over again?

Western devs/pubs care so little about the Vita they're not even willing to port over 3DS games that they port over to everything else?

How many more price cuts does the Vita need before publishers stop pretending that nobody bought one?

If only they were cheap here :P. I'll just have to endure.

Play-asia would've been my second choice. However, with PA you will have to pay customs charges. If you don't mind paying more then PA is a good choice. Heard NY downprices the package so you get to avoid the extra hassle with customs (and save money).

FFX/X-2 won't be available outside of Japan most likely until Jan/Feb 2014, more than enough time to enjoy the awesomeness of P4G.

Also, avoid any guides on your first playthrough, makes the game immensely more enjoyable.

Proteus comes out tomorrow! :D

Holy schnikes, someone actually cares? :P
Well, I hope it's good and what you want. :D

Bagged milk was a weird adjustment to make back in my middle school days.

Anyone has any experience with Nippon-yasan? Ordered a 64gb memory card from them, but my order has been stuck on "Preparation in progress" since Thursday.

Their preparing to ship phase seems to take a couple days, not sure why.
I'm more curious about "why the hell is my tracking saying it's stuck at JFK airport?"

Anyone have experience with this?

I'm not sure about that -- it could be, or it could just be that they're a small operation and it takes forever for them to carefully move through the volume of orders for this stuff.

Sounds risky.
I should've just sprung for FedEx or whatever though instead of waiting for this... not sure why it's taking so long to clear.

There are plenty of reasons to love your Vita. Even if you don't like P4G.

Pretty much, but this is old news.
Where have you been? ;)

Yeah, I don't think I had to pay anything related to customs, but my package seems to be stuck in the customs office.

One thing I can say about Nippon-Yassan is that they SUCK at replying to electronic inquiries and I don't really want to call Japan.

I can say they didn't have the game I ordered in-stock. My order got delayed 4 or so days extra because they got the wrong game from their supplier.

I'm not sure how customs function over there, but here there were times where my packages were inexplicably detained for around a week or so. Could try giving them a call in a couple of days if the package still remains there.

My package has been "at inward office of exchange" for ~1.5 weeks already... it got there over 9 days ago. :\

Guess I'm calling Nippon-Yassan later.

David Cox even had his own "we designed the game for home consoles" moment when he said that they were contemplating a Vita version but were convinced not to since it was painful seeing the game not running in 3D.

its been on sale twice recently for 20$

just put it on the backburner and it'll come around again... unless you're itching to play it

And yet... the home XBL/PSN versions offer NO 3D option.

Not sure if they'll be able to help if it's stuck at customs. Should ideally call the customs office and ask them about your package.

Already did. They need an "Air bill #" which Nippon-Yassan doesn't give you. So I'll be calling them to attempt to get the air bill number that my package was sent in.

Doing the math, they claim "SAL REGISTERED" is 2-3 weeks, which I was fine waiting for the price. Today is 2 weeks in Japan since it shipped. It's been sitting at US customs for almost that long. I want some answers.

Did anyone who ordered from Nippon-Yasan get it shipped FedEx? My order from Yes Asia hasn't arrived yet, and I'm starting to worry. I want that 64GB card ASAP, and I'm thinking FedExed N-Y may be the only option.
