Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

if it was the black friday bundle i vaguely recall they do expire.

Yeah, it was that. That sucks.

Oh well, 20 bucks for Siren is still pretty great, especially since I've been waiting YEARS for it to go on sale

You can only use one trial code per psn account. After that you have to buy the usual (3 month+) subscriptions.

That can't be true can it? I mean they specifically gave out 3 one month trial codes as part of the Vita bundle I bought...

If Tearaway is $20 when it releases here, I might actually try to get over my dislike of the character design and buy it.

But back to spending NOW -- help me spend $19 dollars on PSN, people!

i think it's no secret that Jack Tretton don't care about Vita, but it's just still weird. and yes Tearaway needed a lower price more in NA than europe actually, not because of its genre but also the awful release date.

That's as far as I know. Once you've used a trial code you cannot use another one, otherwise they wouldn't be called trials.

Come on SCEA give me my soul sacrifice patch...

Knowing you your going buy it sooner or later.

I don't agree with the date.
There's nothing else on my radar for that timeframe.
I don't care that the $400 Vita accessory came out a week before. :P

But if it's anywhere near as good as the previews lead us to believe (atrocious character design not factored in), $20 is about 1/2 of what we expected it to sell for.

Tearaway pre-ordered. I was already planning on getting it, but this price makes me love Sony's different pricing for their games :3

Another example of what you get for 20 pounds, when you compare that to what indie games are charging for far less value between 10-12 pounds nowadays.

Just started playing Dragon's Crown... I like it, but not as much as I thought I would.
I can see the levels getting boring pretty quickly.
I also feel like I'm not playing it right... half the time there's so much going on on screen that I can barely see myself so just end up mashing.
Looks beautiful though.

Nobody wants an Xbone.

I still don't understand the appeal of the PS4 at launch.

I will only get a xbawx one if it was for $20. Nothing about MS consoles appeals to me other than Forza (and I do kinda regret not playing Lost Odyssey)

and the PS4 launch line up doesn't appeal to me either. Won't be touching a PS4 til FFXV & MGSV drops. And the former might not even come til 2027

Honestly, I think my next console purchase will be the Wii U and maybe the Vita TV if I have the extra cash.

Vita/PS3/WiiU/3DS/PC for the shootan will serve me well for the time being.

I've been playing Dragon's Crown Vita for about 47 hours now, a pretty good game, but i'm starting to get a bit tired of it now. Definitelly got my money worth! :) There is some bigger grinding required to get the platinum trophy.

You've quoted and linked to a positive review, then proceeded to question that it's worth $12? I'm not sure I understand.

Ironic I know.. It's a nice experience, with procedurally generated worlds and music. It's value really comes down to how many times you're willing to revisit the world to view and hear all it has to offer. However, the game is barley longer than hour. One could argue it's Journey without the interactivity.

Is a one hour game worth $12? If you enjoy the journey, why not?

Give it some time. Once you're into getting all the loot and you're a bit more familiar with the special moves of your character, it's the perfect game to play while listening to podcasts etc.

I was wondering about this game!!!

is this crazy market??

also is that a cameo by flying hamster?

Yes to both questions. Crazy Market is developed by The Game Atelier, who previously made Sunflowers, and The Flying Hamster. I'm enjoying it, but since it's free to play you're reminded a lot to spend some real money. I haven't played a tonne so I don't know if you really need to pay to go far in the game.

The only thing you "need" to buy, after my experience, is to get unlimited lives. Then the game shouldnt be that hard to beat. Its fully possible to beat the game without buying anything though, but when you have limited lives, it takes a lot longer to collect gold because you need to wait for the lives to recharge.

WTF @ Sine Mora's story. This is horrifying.

It's pretty fuckin' heavy.

Wow, I had no idea it was coming in at budget pricing. That's crazy!

This makes me sad that I quit trying to get through the garbage level

Man up and get back to it! ;)

Ok, reviews sold me on Siren: Blood Curse.
So knock $10 off my total. Come on, Vitamuffins, help me spend $8.83 ($10, give or take).
I suppose I could just buy Gurumin to make Toto happy.
Or Mirror of Fate HD -- though the demo for that is terrible.

I think you might have got further than me - I just finished Chapter 2 and had to take a break. It's just a series of unimaginable atrocities happening to fuzzy animal people.

The actual game's not bad though.

i need 10$... do i buy puppeteer for 20$ ( i really want it retail though) or do i keep looking for other sh*t to buy? only other games on this sale i would consider are fatal frames... but thats only 4$.

There's a Puppeteer demo on the EU store that I'd recommend you try, personally I couldn't even finish it.

For those talking about the Tearaway low price. I'm assuming Sony learned from the Puppeteer bomba.

Also only 14 people actually worked on Tearaway so I assume even at 20 pounds that's a nice profit for Sony.

Well it's only SCEE who seems smart here.

SCEA learned nothing as Jack Tretton still pricing Tearaway at $40.

I mean he can't even smile normally while holding Vita

Football games situation is just pretty sad, PES14 turned to be total and utter garbage and EA don't even want to improve FIFA because it sell like mad.

we need new developers making football games.

lol. I mean SCEE. game is out tomorrow and they don't care

Completely agree. EA is too spoiled already.

speaking of...Siren blood Curse really need a remoteplay patch.

Just think about it, you in a completely dark room on your bed with dat Oled and shibito following you.

PS2 classics remote play? Gimme.

NBA app on the Vita is really good.

Now where's my f*** Crunchyroll app? You promised guys, you PROMISED!!

WTF @ Sine Mora's story. This is horrifying.

Lol, just you wait. The second half of the game and the endings are really messed up. What an awesome game, but that story, I wish we had an entire RPG based on it. It would rule.

okay friends - im nixing psp games since they are still 15-20 dollars each.

i think im going to pick up some ps1 rpgs. ( 1 for 10 or 2 for 12 )

would love some opinions on these games or any other suggestions in that price range:

Legend of Mana
Vagrant Story
Suikoden
Breath of Fire 3
Breath of Fire 4
Chrono Cross
Grandia
Saga Frontier 2

Also, considering

Nobody wants an Xbone. You'd be better off with the original Xbox. :lol

I might be going PC/WiiU/3DS/Vita for a long time next gen. Pick up a Wii U! Awesome system. Snag one with a good bundle when the new ones come out (unless they already did).

The only one of those I've played is Chrono Cross and I loved it.
I suppose I could buy that for $10 to finish out my list... but I have $20 in gamestop credit so it's like... why bother?

Y'know it's true. :P

And your platforms are actually pretty much mine, minus the WiiU. I might grab one cheap sometime to play Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, but that's about it. I can't justify a purchase there at this point for 2 games.

Vagrant Story is a must play for RPG fans.
Breath of Fire 3 is solid.
Breath of Fire IV is extremely divisive. It uses a lot of mechanics that make it somewhat of a JRPG rogue like.
Chrono Cross is a fan favorite. I hate it.
Grandia is heartwarming and charming, but wholly derivative. Still loved it back in the day.
Saga Frontier is straight asscrack. Do not play this game. Do not buy this game. Do not acknowledge this game.
