Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

I'd rid of Mushroomy Kingdom, which is unfortunately getting a 3D land sequel.

Hanenbow too. So.. boring.

Also, Rainbow Cruise. It felt kind of pointless.

What? This never happened... like, ever. Are you sure this wasn't in another chat? You were only in SmashGAF IRC a very few times and you were never once kicked from any of those times.

And I doubt anyone in their right mind would kick you for such reasons. The only ops are IntelliHeath and me.
It's cos I keep forgetting to go back.

Maybe someone accidentally entered the kick command cos the reason was simply: "BGBW".

Hanenbow really was bad, no grabbable edges and the layout fucks over heavier characters.

75m was bad for fighting too but it could lead to funny matches sometimes.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of scrolling levels, either, except Big Blue and Poke Floats. Those aren't really "scrolling", though.

I'm pretty fond of the moving levels actually, gives some cool variety. But yeah the 2D scrolling ones can go.

I liked every single stage from Smash Bros 64 and Melee (yes, even the Ice Climbers stage) but Brawl had some really rotten ones. 75m, Hanenbow and Spear Pillar are the worst ones. 75m was an absolute pain to move anywhere while everything is out to get you, it was WAY too hazardous. Hanenbow was just a mess to fight in. Spear Pillar... it was cool until you get these asshole legendaries flipping the level around which made it unplayable.

I was okay with New Pork City, it just needed a better layout.

New Pork City. Worse stage ever for the Classic mode.

While I don't mind big stages for the general fighting mode. Single player should stick to the smaller stages. It's annoying chasing a CPU player around a massive map.

Dialga and Palkia were still somewhat acceptable, though. Cresselia on the other hand...fuck that noise.

NYEEVAAR!!! You'll get the remodeled Pokemon Stadium and you will like it!

Pokemon Stadium 3

GIVE US SAFFRON CITY BACK

* wanting Saffron City or a Pokemon Stadium 3 instead of all all new city stage from black white or x y with people in in with Pokemon that interact in the stage while you fight in the streets. and alley ways are the ends of the stage. And cars driving through are also hazards*

I keep coming back to this thread, and you all just stay inferior.

also The Brawl DK stage, no jesus god no.

New Pork City should've had you fighting on the ferris wheel and maybe some other buildings, it was kinda lame that it was mostly random platforms besides the swing and the floating limo. That and it was way too huge without the interesting features of Temple, like the lower island. If they do more huge stages they should have more fun little areas like that.

Talking about ferris wheels, way way back I thought a stage based on the inside of a vase from Super Mario Advance would make a funky level.

I mean I could kind of recreate it in the stage editor but honestly it was a bunch of blocks in front a still background. It just wasn't the same.

And the music just because.

There were a lot of terrible Brawl stages--New Pork City almost single handedly ruins Classic Mode. And I don't think I've ever had fun on Mario Bros.

No, wait, scratch that, first time me and my friends played there, and one of my friends tried to walk off the left side of the stage to wrap around to the right and just ended up killing himself. That was funny. But outside that, no. It's like, the anti-Smash Bros. stage.

Mushroomy Kingdom's underground version is awful as well. Summit's slippery surfaces and no grabbable edges makes it entirely unfun (especially for Olimar, it's an exercise in futility). 75m is just not built to be a Smash Bros. stage, causing almost all of the fighting to migrate to the upper right corner of the stage, two feet away from the edge. Pokemon Stadium 2 is ruined by nearly every element's terrible gimmick (Flying type is just an annoying interruption), Ground is the only one that isn't bad. And Wario Ware would have been a much better stage if the rewards weren't randomized between the Microgame winners.

In terms of ratio of good stage to garbage stage, Brawl was absolutely the worst. The first I think is the best in this regard, but there aren't that many, so it might not be a fair comparison. But Melee has a much better good to garbage ratio than Brawl, so that's no excuse.

Them vases.

Bane of my childhood.

AND DEM CREEPY KEY FACES ;;

who needs saffron city when we can have stadium 3 with even WORSE gimmick transformations than the last one

and a new legendary pokemon stage with such awful gimmicks that it's nearly unplayable

God I forgot about the Spear Pillar gimmicks. That annoying stage mirroring and time slowing. Cresselia's cuts were pretty bad too because they have good knockback and were thrown out so often.

There were a lot of terrible Brawl stages

I agree. For example, I'm not fond playing on Mushroomy Kingdom, Rumble Falls, Pokémon Stadium 2, Port Town Aero Drive, WarioWare, Inc., Distant Planet, New Pork City, Summit, 75 m, Mario Bros., Flat Zone 2, Hanenbow, Shadow Moses Island and Green Hill Zone. Uh...yeah.

My favourite Brawl stages are Smashville and Battlefield, and any stage that isn't listed above I usually have fun playing. :P

Melee has some fantastic stages; Fountain of Dreams, Battlefield, Final Destination, Yoshi's Story, Pokémon Stadium, Temple are all really fun.

Also, I really prefer Melee's original compositions compared to Brawl's. Battlefield, Menu 2, Multi Man Melee 1 & 2...

Okay I'm done rambling. :P

Same here. New Porky City because it can dragging out the matches sometime if someone is running away.

Yeah, I don't distinctly remember hating any stages in Brawl except those two. New Pork was alright in concept, but it was just too easy to get away. I'd be OK if they re-did it or something, I really liked the theme.

New Pork was awful from a gameplay perspective, but looking at it from a visual point of view it's one of my favorites. So much attention to detail there, it's wonderful.

I <3 pretty much every Brawl stage that everyone hates. Especially NPC and underground Mushroomy Kingdom! Mmm.

Also, why does everyone love Saffron City so much? Just curious.

New Pork City is just an awful location for a stage. It doesn't even really resemble New Pork City in its layout, what with a ton of floating platforms for no apparent reason. At least Fourside, despite how awful it played actually was set on top of buildings and stuff.

Stages that feel like you are part of the world are so much better.

Even you don't like Mario Bros or 75m at least you are fighting in the location rather than them being the backdrop to some random platforms.
