damn haha I think a lot of these must be about known games..like lootwhoring = Destiny? But I guess point and clicks could be some new indie title. I really don't wanna get hyped for this
 
I've been following this thread at work all day, it's crazy.

Sounds like a big event planned in co-ordance with Sony as a way to really hype the launch and generate further buzz. Which quite evidently it is already doing!

I think GopherD's tease of 'a boy, his friends, memories and tears' - may refer to Kingdom Hearts III news myself, maybe a new trailer or something.

Anyway with around 10 exclusives still to be revealed for release next year, I'm expecting a few decent announcements between this and the VGA's this December. Hype!

Miazaki isn't going to announce his next game until after Dark Souls II is released. The guy wants the Dark Souls II team to have all the hype and press to themselves. I'll be very surprised if he does anyway.
 
Would think we'll get new footage of Driveclub, The Order 1886 and Infamous SS.

A game or two has to be revealed, apart from the VGA's, when can Sony announce next Christmas's big titles, E3 and Gamescom is far too late, those AAA reveals will be '15 titles.

But what makes you think that? If he's working on Demon's Souls 2 for PS4, it won't affect Dark Souls 2 at all since that's only on current gen consoles.
 
New game announcements on launch day is a smart way to keep the ball rolling. I think it's within reason to expect at least one major-ish 1st party game. Probably not a huge sequel IP, though. Add in announcements of a handful of digital and indie games that are in the pipeline and I think you have a fun way to boost hype on day when hype is already peaking.

But so long as we're casting votes for unreasonable wishes, here's mine: Jumping Flash reboot for PS4 and Vita.

Also, I gotta push back against the "But everyone will be in line" comments. A few million will. And those people are already PS4 buyers. Millions more are thinking of getting one but are the types to wait and see how it goes for a few weeks or months. What do you think a large chunk of those those people will be doing that night? Hitting GAF and live streams for first impressions. Right audience, right channel, right time to keep the forward-looking hype rolling.

Just my understanding of how game reveals usually go. It's the same reason Rockstar didn't talk about Red Dead 2 whilst they were promoting GTA V, or Naughty Dog didn't announce UC 4 whilst TLOU was being promoted.

I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong as Miazakis new game is something I can't wait to see, but I doubt we will get an announcement here.

It's on a different platform.
It will most likely be released in Fall of 2014.

Also, Demon Souls 2 is the worse kept secret that remains a secret that will still cause buckets full of tears.

1. Demons Souls 2 exists

2. That From Soft is doing it

Miyazaki producing it would be a bonus (and practically necessary to ensure quality)

At this point I think you should just stop posting regarding the matter. No way to verify your authenticity and you can get in trouble. PM a mod, and tell them the info you have. They'll verify you. It may be instant if the info you give matches up with info they have already, or it may take till the game is actually revealed.

What's to say that FROM is making Demon's Souls 2 anyway? I would love for Miyazaki to be working on it but seeing how some have suggested it to be a spiritual successor than a direct sequel it's very well possible that FROM aren't involved in the project at all.

However if FROM were to be the ones behind it then I still wouldn't see a problem. As of now we have no idea how similar the project will be to Demon's/Dark Souls and how much influence it will take from the Souls series if it is a spiritual successor.

There was an interview with Miyazaki by EDGE not so long ago, he mentioned briefly what he'd like to work on but it really doesn't tell us much to be honest.

While it’s sad to see Miyazaki part ways with his fantasy-RPG series, it certainly makes sense from a company perspective to steer him towards a fresh title, especially if it does turn out to be something brand new. Apart from Dark Souls, Namco Bandai’s recent attempts to develop memorable new properties have been largely unsuccessful. If there’s any chance this proven young designer can cause lightning to strike twice, it makes sense to give him that opportunity. For his part, Miyazaki seems ready to access a different part of his psyche. In response to an unrelated question, he says, “sometimes I’d like to work on a warmer game – not necessarily casual, but warmer in terms of the atmosphere and the environment”. It’s the closest thing that we’re given to a hint about the nature of his next project.

B. GTA V a timed PS4 exclusive

C. GTA V isn't a PS4 exclusive but, they do a MS COD like deal with Rockstar, where GTA V DLC is exclusive to PS4 for a month.

I wondered the same thing when I first heard that Sony had something monstrous to share. But I cannot believe that it is it.
