PlayStation 4 All Access on 11/14 - 11pm EST on Spike + Live Stream

Are the PS4's power and hdmi cables generic?

I am looking to have a set of cables permanently connected to my tv in the lounge and the tv in the bedroom. The tv in the lounge is in a unit and mounted. So very difficult to get to easily. I want to be able to just unplug the PS4 from the living room set and just leave the cables there and hook up to the bedroom tv with another set.

Does anyone know if the cable are just generic?

Yes, the PSU is internal and takes a figure-8 cable into the back of the box, and the HDMI cable is just an HDMI cable

I'm pretty sure this demo is the version of UE4 that has dispensed of things like SVOGI they said next gen consoles simply couldn't do.

EPIC already told that they were partially using baked solutions in the Infiltrator demo.

Infiltrator was a good indication of what Epic can achieve with its latest version of Unreal Engine 4, and if games are going to look that good, then we obviously don’t mind the lack of the SVOGI (as long as developers take advantage of the alternative solutions that Epic introduced to its engine).

Don't know if there is any credibility in the rumour that a new Gears of War is heading to the PS4 (personally, I don't really believe it), but everybody remember E3? Around that time, this 'leaked':

Gears-Redux1-610x309.jpg

At the time, it was said to be fake, but who knows now?

So my predictions for what we see.

Uncharted 4 teaser
Resistance 4 reveal, developed by Sony Bend.

I can't see Epic revealing anything there just yet, although it's certainly plausible.

Really hoping Epic reveal the AAA shooter they're working on.

They've been way too quiet this gen, whereas they were out front and center when the 360 was revealed.

They were probably waiting on final kits to arrive and further polish time, but they need to show the industry what they're capable.

Even a new Gears would be fine, but I'd prefer a new IP.

Yes!. New generation, new IP's

If it's real that would be a megaton, but there's no chance IMO.

You'd have to hope they'd dodge a subtitles like 'Redux'.

Wow, even the faker should know better.

I'll await being proven wrong though

Bunch of these came out after E3. All of them are fake.

Remember how Sony flaunted out Destiny from the makers of Halo. I expect the same here, New Epic IP from the makers of Gears. I expect it to be multiplatform but with a PS4 association with perhaps some exclusive DLC.

Resistance has to be dead surely ?

I hope it is anyway , easily the worst of Sony's IP's

That PSN logo is wrong anyway.

Good call. I doubt we'll see a proper exclusive from Epic.

Well he does say Premier(S) AND announcement(S) so that makes me think Sony will show off multiple new titles and announce multiple new titles.

Feels like Gamescom to me. Everyone going in expected maybe 1 new game to be shown or announced, we ended up getting what, 15?

And Sony has all the cards to play at the moment. Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Polyphony, Santa Monica Studios, etc. Plenty of third party groups out there like Epic still very quiet on the next-gen front.

My guess.

Teaser Trailer for Santa Monica's new title
Teaser Trailer for a third party exclusive

Epic announces PS4 title
Star Citizen PS4 announcement

Oh and of course Half Life 3 PS4/Steam exclusive announcement

Sony won't upclock the GPU, because if they can do it later then why they're not doing it now, what would be the point of delaying an upgrade to PS4 to later time?

I think it's rumor from Thuway (an insider), but even he is not sure about it.

There was talk of stealth Upclocks in patches before, some even mentioned before the Last of Us which was killing PS3 Phats, I still own mine and its fine.

If I was to speculate on why later and not now, basically Sony already have the hype and the most powerful console, they could be testing it now on reliability averages. They do not need to take the risk now anyway, they could introduce this 2-3 Years down the line where a % of upclock consoles will Break (slowly due to heat/slight wear and tear or yield deficiencies) At least in 2-3 Years if your console dies, its not news..

I personally would take a 2TF-2.5 (Thuway) upclock in 2-3 Years+ at the chance of bricking my console :) If its stealth that is, or if they can announce a stable Up-clock that's all good news, Its obv the same architecturally as the X1, they up clocked 53mhz across 12 GCN cores, if sony do the same clock, its multiplied further because they have 18...Heat would be the only issue, but heres hoping PS4 is more than a match for it. (it doesnt need to be 53mhz anyway to see results)

Pure speculation, but atleast most of it is built on rumor and logic :) - Anyway A little Offtopic :P

An unreal Engine game by Epic, would see ripples across the gaming-nation :D

There is something amusing about someone making a supposedly fake picture of a Gears of War "HD" compilation port

I mean i can understanding doing it with Shenmue 3, Half Life 3, Final Fantasy 7 remake, you know, something that would really send people into a frenzy.

But a port of a bunch of old games? Sure maybe the person that did it, knew all of this, but it still seems odd to me that this is so unthinkable, EPIC has ported games to PlayStation before, they arent owned by Microsoft, nor are exclusivity contracts forever. To me "Redux" sounds like a compilation/port more than anything else.

I personally would not care, i liked Gears of War 1 somewhat, but that was about it.

*Please don't let Gears be one of the "new" games*

That Gears Redux thing was debunked by Epic themselves. There's even a misspelled "trademarks" in that image.

Pretty sure no one wants Gears to be the Epic announcement, that ship has sailed long ago, it will be a new IP and I hope its gonna be set in a similar setting as the infiltrator demo

If Epic really announces a new game for PS4 (doesn't matter if exclusive or multi) it's hopefully not Gears. This IP had its peak with Gears 2 imo. I thought Gears 3 was "only" good and Judgment made it clear for me that I don't need another one.

Wait wait wait wait wait just a second there.
The date of that article puts the new PSN logo at the beginning of E3.
This image was flying around before E3 if I remember correctly.

O.o

That's what I was thinking. If it was shopped, the person could not have known the new logo would be a thing. So that leaked shot actually has more a lot more credibility now lol.

Nah, it appeared not long [correction, it was almost two days] after Sony released the E3 press assets (including the new logo). In fact, one of the main giveaways that it is fake is that Sony is still using the old logo until PS4 launches, even in PS4 promo stuff.

I think the best outcome we may get
The Order gameplay
Epic New IP (multiplatform with PS4 exclusive DLC)
New IP from either Media Molecule or Santa Monica

So basically gameplay debut for The Order, 1 new exclusive revealed and 1 new 3rd party game revealed.

For VGA, Sony would save another exclusive reveal.

I think we will get trailers for Killzone, Knack, Driveclub (with new launch date) and inFamous. Also first gameplay footage from The Order. New probably means new IP from epic (I really hope its not Gears), teasers for games from SSM and Media Molecule. I dont think we will see Naughty Dog at all, thats probably being saved for the VGAs.

I really doubt Sony is going to win our hearts with new footage of any of the launch games 75 minutes before people start popping in their games.

This whole show is going to be a glimpse into the future #4theplayers

Just tossing this out there but how about another Unreal game? Not Unreal tournament but from the mainline Unreal series. The single player could continue the storyline or be a remake with a multiplayer add on that plays like Unreal Tournament.

I'm still trying to decide which game would get me more excited: The Samaritan or Infiltrator. Damn, both look great.

If Epic announces something it will most likely be that the PS4 is one of the platforms they're self publishing Fortnite on since Sony had their f2p act together much earlier than Microsoft and they received several hundred million dollars from Tencent to do things like bring their own online focused games to a bunch of platforms/regions.

Think along the lines of how Warframe and War Thunder are being handled.

Their only other major game is a new IP online persistent competitive shooter thingy that is still in preproduction. They could show something there, but it is likely decidedly less ready.

I'm hoping for The Samaritan, that thing looked amazing both tech and aesthetically

Maybe Epic are salty about MS 1.3Tflops, they wanted 2.5 (with a GPU upclock later in the Gen expect Sony to atleast break the 2Tflops)

Phil Spencer said on Podcast unlocked a hint about Epics future, when asked if they are gonna have another team do Gears, Phils reply was shifty, sugguesting another team could do it (which we know is BS since EPIC own the IP) Phil then mentioned in a seperate conversation about some studios having other needs and business models for Next gen, releasing on other platforms ( I think he was talking about Crytek, but possibly Epic also)
Toward the bolded Epic is pushing toward f2p and games as a service, though the former (f2p) isn't true of all of their products.

Uncharted 4 confirmed? What is this site anyway?

http://eskimopress.com/articles/games/item/427-savage-starlight-is-not-naughty-dog-s-next-game
The next Naughty Dog game is definitely not Savage Starlight, and might have nothing to do with space, at all. Our sources are still confident that the next major release is Uncharted 4.

Despite the recent talks about the upcoming space adventure from Naughty Dog, our contact is confident to confirm that the next game to be revealed by Naughty Dog is not Savage Starlight. Earlier last month our source confirmed to us Naughty Dog would definitely reveal their next game at the next Spike TV event, which we, of course, assumed would be the Video Game Awards of 2013 -- but we've all heard of another event upcoming on the 14th which is the the PlayStation 4 launch special event. Several industry professionals, including Geoff Keighly, have since suggested at a big announcement from Naughty Dog at a special announcement from Naughty Dog at either event.

When confronted, our source confidentially confirmed that the next the title of the next Naughty Dog game is not Savage Starlight. When we asked whether the next game will actually take place in space, he replied, "Naughty Dogs interest in space is very new to me. I would only assume that Naughty Dog's second team is looking for inspiration for their second project".

A new Uncharted is the least interesting thing they can do IMO. I didn't even like Uncharted 3. I'd far rather see a new IP, and if not that then a new game in the Last of Us universe but with different characters.

I think I'd be a little surprised if they put out two new IPs back to back.

I'm still expecting nothing from anyone.
