Usually people think Chrom would replace Ike, with Marth being the constant FE rep.

I think if he wanted Sakurai could have three lords though, or do something a bit different with Robin or a non-lord character.
 
Let's keep those alternate outfits for things that make sense, not for entirely different characters.

Mario -> Dr. Mario
WFT Female -> WFT Male
Villager Male -> Villager Female
Toon Link -> Young Link/ALBW
Bowser -> Dry Bowser
Captain Falcon -> Chuck Norris
Mewtwo -> Mewtwo with armor

etc. etc.
 
^^Edit for the above post^^: That doesn't make sense. Captain Falcon is a god while Chuck Norris is just Christian.

Chrom doesn't seem to fight like either though. He doesn't look sluggish like Ike but he isn't skinny like Marth. I think he could be a nice middle ground and the new Smash character

I hope Ike isn't replaced or cut. It would be great to have all three of them. Even better with Roy included. ._. Anyways, i'm excited for the FE cast.

I don't think I'd cry too hard over Chrom replacing Ike. Course then again I think all of Fire Emblem's main characters are boring anyway so whatever.

I still want to know what they really mean when they say a speed between Melee and Brawl. Seems like a fix to a nonexistent problem. Could just have Melee's speed but make certain things easier to execute by removing pointless stuff.

Also comparing C Falcon to Norris is dumb. Falcon would murder him with a single knee.
 
My dream FE roster for SSB4 is Marth + Chrom + Anna

And Marth should have a "Marth" costume so I can get my Lucina fix <3

Brawl was very floaty and had very low hitstun, which made combos extremely scarce. That gave the overall impression of a lack of speed and removed a big chunk of the tension and a bit of the complexity that Melee's gameplay had.
 
I guess the moderators have kind of screwed me over here and I need to actually get some insider info the next time I try to tease you guys.

It'd be nice if the man/women who did this to me showed himself though.

I think the stage editor will be a little more elaborate this time round with colourful platforms and pieces such as trees etc.

You know it would be great if Nintendo added online features to some of their Virtual Console games. Buying stuff like SSB64 and Mario Party 2 and junk doesn't really seem totally worth it to me when I only play with irl friends every great once in a while. I can't even remember what SSB64 was really like, considering the last time I played it was when it first came out.

Also I'mma join that crowd that really wants to see that Galaxy stage this week.

It's mostly just us being dumb with character discussions mixed in. Don't bother checking this thread because anything that gets announced here will get its own thread if it's significant.

Yeah of course, it's why I said just make the game at Melee's speed. This "in between" stuff is weird. Melee isn't just at that speed because the devs thought it was cute. It affects a lot of things.

IMO it would be smarter to make l cancelling go away, like just make aerials fast, there's no need for the extra input and I really despise the mentality that it needs to be there for the game to not be BABY ZONE. Also wavedashing could easily be made into a simpler input. Would make the game more accessible without slowing it down.

Sakurai is most likely afraid that it would raise the barrier for entry if he made it too fast. I've never understood it, but there it is. And by simpler input do you mean make the timing more lenient or change how the actual input is done?

This is essentially a community thread but we get some form of news in the screenshots every weekday. That's the loophole that keeps us in Gaming.

It's pretty much why we have a new thread for new news rule. Most people don't want to follow the discussion about the image updates because they are turned off by this thread.

Letterbomb, this thread is for daily images so it don't belong to Community section. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this kind of behaviors. At least, this thread would stop when the game finally got release. Also this thread would serving for small informations that are not important enough to get it's own thread (Characters, stages and articles are more likely to get their own threads)

Only important things would get new threads tho, such as characters, stages and important articles that would give out a new informations. This thread is more of items, small articles, twitters, leaked, rumors, daily images and things that don't deserve their own threads.
