Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

I'm going physical only for retail games. The other card will be used for PS+ freebies. I'll play those games one at a time.

I had the same plan and I couldn't download a retail game and a digital game at the same time without deleting one, 4GB really is too small. Atelier Totori + DoS specifically. Especially if I want to keep certain titles on there like Wake Up Club.

Certain games with massive patches you'll have to avoid with 4gb too, like Killzone & PS AllStars (or PSO2 if you import a card version)

It is not really a good idea. You're only using one account. There's no point in separating them your "physical save/DLC data" and your "PS+ games". Use folders/separate screens if you want to arrange/segregate them as you like it..

1x 8GB Card >>>>>>>> 2x 4GB card.

I doubt you'll reach the 100 limit with a 4gb unless... I dunno, you buy a bunch of 5mb games from PS Mobile or something.

I have to agree with everyone. Don't cheap out on the memory card even if they are expensive and overpriced.
At least go for 8gb although I would say that even that isn't enough, especially if you are a PS+ subscriber, which everyone should be.

In somewhat related news, my 64gb card just shipped :) Hope the extra money for express shipping pays off.

Just want to put this out there, the buggy races in Motorstorm RC can fuck off. That aside, really fun game.

I have problems with the last bunch of races, where the car you are using drifts a lot. I need a couple of trys before I fully understand what I need to do in that race.

It's pretty fun, but still... I want Soul Sacrifice too, you damn USians! I thought EU has a better IGC T.T

I'm really surprised you guys didn't get it first.

But knowing how it is, EU will probably one-up US as usual by having SS as a yearly game.

Trust Your new vitabros ;) We are speaking from experience.

Buying bigger card only saves you time you will be spending on getting rid of those 2x4GB and geting bigger one.

Another vk3-centric post
It took me 40 hours to accidentally learn that is possible to change the camera distance lol
If something doesn't happen i can say that after 45 hours i'm near the final boss fight, but i read that vk3 has a huge post-game, in fact there are still many unaccessible locations and there are people that played it for 120 hours...

I have to admit that despite the badly realized cutscenes the story is not bad at all and i really like some of its characters...

HUGE SPOILER! NO ONE SHOULD READ(but i'll write it anyway lol)
...too bad you will kill everyone one after another without distinctions between good and bad people... :(
The game knows how to make me feel guilty :(

Is Valhalla Knights 3 any good?

I have already answered to you :P
From the other thread
What's Valhalla Knights 3 like? Any good?
I'm probably the only one who bought the game so i'll answer.

It's commonly described as a single player mmorpg, i don't know if true because i have never played mmorpgs.

You have 7 races(3 locked at the beginning) and lots of jobs/classes(7 unlocked at the beginning), each character can learn all teh jobs he wants but can have up to 3 classes at the same time, the main class affects stats, equipment and skills/magic, while the other two affects skills/magic(you can make a character that can use magic from mage and priest for example).
Each class has its own skill tree with 10 skills/magic + 1 big skill for those who learn all the other 10 skill of the class. There are also other 44 special skills not tied to any class.
There are lots of equipment, weapons, items etc, everything is visible on the character.

The world is made of connected maps and it's not big but it's semi-open, it works similar to a metroidvania map, it's open but many locations are locked, when you do some story quests or obtain certain keys you unlock new paths(and new weapons, equipments, quests etc). You always unlock new things.

The only town present is a prison castle where prisoners live , with the "lower slums" level that is the poor level where you can find cheap shops, the (red)"light district" where you can find expensive shops with hostesses and the naughty minigame, there are other levels that are locked at the beginning.

There are two types of enemies: monsters and clans(=party), monsters are in group and all visible on the map, clans instead are made of characters excatly like yours with their own races, classes, equipments, skills etc, only the leader is visible on the map, the other component appear when the fight begins.

The really weird thing is that enemies don't attack you even if you are close to them, only if you attack them the fight begins. It's really weird but it's really good at the same time because you don't waste time avoiding enemies or fighting battles you don't want.

Fights are fast and last less than a minute, side missions are generally easy instead boss fights are hard and you always need better equipment and lots of grind to level up.

Faults:
Graphics are ps2-level(but way better than people say), there are lots of loadings, during dialogues faces are not animated and body animations are generic, not specific to the dialogue.

Pro:
It has lots of equipments, weapons etc, it's fun and really addictive.

For those who still rely on reviews metacritic has 10 reviews with a 55 average score.
For those who rely more on gamers opinions on metacritic it has 7.3 based on 23 scores and on gamefaqs it has 7.9 based on 41 scores.

If you want more details read here, you will find all the answers you want:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/684063-valhalla-knights-3
Long story short it's not for everyone, it has many faults but if you can deal with them then you will find an extremely addictive game, if you look at the trailers and all you can see is bad graphics and naughty minigames then pass, instead if you see a game that you could enjoy then you probably will enjoy it(but tbh i played vk2 so i already imagined what to expect, i don't know if it's the same for those who didn't play vk2), since i bought it i haven't played anything else, i'm 45 hours in and i still want more.

Personally i find my 29.99€ really well spent for a game that all vitagaf despise(without even touching it), i don't think that many vitabros could say the same for batman and other hyped games here in vitagaf... :P

People that already have PS+ won't care if it's a monthly o yearly game. So I dunno about that one-up. But yeah, I think it's possible EU will get Soul Sacrifice as a yearly game and US Unit 13 (and both will get LBP, PS All Stars or HotShots Golf).

Hatsuu from Xseed twitted that Xseed is bringing VK games because despite popular opinion there's a dedicated fanbase who buys them.

I'm also enjoying Valhalla Knights 3. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Just bought Ys 1&2 as well as Ys 7 for PSP and I'm looking forward to Ys: Memories of Celceta soon.
But I have a question.
Any idea if the European version will have a boxed release or will it be digital only?
If it's digital only, I can just as well import the boxed US copy since it's releasing much sooner.

I'm also enjoying Valhalla Knights 3. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I know another Vita game that you might enjoy even more so. ;)

I've been waiting for a whole year for the Ys games to go on sale on PSN...hope the upcoming release of Celestia will mean they'll go on sale soon.

All vk games are very far from perfection, but the series has a huge potential imo, a very well made vk would awesome!

Imo a vk4 that is essentially vk3 but with better native res graphics, 2d portraits or comic book cutscenes instead of in game cut scenes with static faces, not sexualized dating elements and minigames and obviously a bigger map and more contents would get high praise even from critics(not too much tough because it's a vita game :\ )

I'm also enjoying Valhalla Knights 3. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Only hearts(and stars) for me lol

I hope SE games go on sale soon.

Need to pick up FF3, FF4 and Dissidia 012 ready for the Vita.

FF3 hasn't been on sale yet, but the PSP and PSX games went on sale during Late Winter/Early Spring 2013, so expect them to go on sale during a similar period next year.

[Config]

Camera Speed Norm/Fast
Mini Map On/Off
Panties: Standard On/Off

...

Wait, what?

Lol.
You can choose clerks' underwear(naked is not an option, but hearts underwear is really close lol), let's say that if you are good enough at the naughty minigame you will see it very close and well...
Two words: guild, Togus.

Disappointed by the lack of audio options though...

Good to see they have their priorities in order though

Looks like I need a new Vita charger, the wires inside the cable have become exposed.

Probably explains why I was getting small electric shocks when the end that plugs into the Vita was touching my skin.

Good thing is that chargers are cheap (first or 3rd party). Imagine situation that the accessories would be priced same way as memory cards o_O.

I hate how big the deadzone is in the analog sticks on the Vita (the amount the sticks can wiggle before you feel the resistance). They may be better when brand new, I can't remember, but I can't help wondering if Sony should have tried to figure out a different solution. The range of movement is already tiny, and that large deadzone just makes it even smaller.

I wouldn't want a circle pad like the 3DS's, because I really dislike that thing for the most part, but I'm wondering if something like the original prototype Wii U Gamepad's circle pads would have been good. They're taller, and look more comfortable, they wouldn't have as small a range of motion, and you don't have to worry as much about deadzones.

I just...I don't know. I've been using the DualShock 4 the past week or so, and the analog sticks feel amazing. Well, I was playing some Killzone Mercenary last night on my Vita, and was just feeling frustrated at the analog sticks.

Does the gyro-aiming work as good as in Uncharted? I suppose in Killzone, which is a faster paced game, the results are worse. Especially in MP.

That's not called a deadzone...

It's not quite as effective, mostly because, like you said, it's faster pace. It's more chaotic. But it's still cool that it has gyro aim, and I do occasionally use it.

The deadzone is not the area in which no input is registered?

Talking about hardware, I'm trying to find that Nyko power grip somewhere. Amazon won't deliver it outside US, play-asia and yesasia don't have it, and it's over $60 on eBay.

Any other stores to recommend that deliver worldwide?

Uhm, quotet wrong person?

Btw. Why is neogaf all the time asking to change my password (Your psswrd is xx days old). F5 helps but argh annoying thing (I did change pswrd 16.10.13)

the area in which no input is registered is a deadzone.

Besides I just tried it on Starlight Inception and on that game there are no deadzones. The slightest touch will move your ship very contrary to what happens on the home screen where you have to push the sticks a bit more to change the highlighted icons. This is definitely a game to game basis. You can try to play the Starlight Inception Beta and you would notice this as well.

i for one am tired of creepy japanese devs ignoring the booty community

It's definitely not ignored just a minority.

IIRC Someone hacked a mod some time ago to gain access to the database. They also request you to change passwords on every account with the same username and password.

I wanna start buying some japanese games.

Is there any dictionary that you guys use to get around unknown words? (Mac or Android)

I was probably following that conversation and quoted you comment (which was an answer to VanWinkle, not the post I wanted to quote). Still, he has answered.

.

The wiggle is an area in which no input is registered. It is a deadzone. I'm talking about a mechanical issue (the wiggle) that is causing a deadzone.

When did you get yours?

Last week. Second Hand though. The previous owner might have been very careful to take care of the system. He sold me the Vita for $150 w/32gb card and a Soul Sacrifice. He also sold his 3DS XL at the same time with the same price with a bunch of games. Both are in very pristine conditions.

Ah okay. Yeah, that could be the case. I got the First Edition Bundle back in early Feb 2012. Your analog sticks probably aren't as worn.
