So...what even happens at this event?
Someone holding a mic says something like "the wait is almost over"
that doesn't fill two hours.
can someone explain this?
There will be aliens, sex and umbrellas

Two hours.
Two hours, really? The cynicism around here is too high, then.

Hopefully there's at least one semi-megaton announced. Don't want to be hyped for absolutely nothing.

Two hours.
Do you have a source for that? Would be nice, didn't see this posted before.
Um, yeah. My bad, I read somewhere that it'll be 2 hours with everything, but I cannot find source. So, let's pretend that I didn't say anything![]()
Honestly, I want to see new IP's more than anything else. Will I flip out over Uncharted 4? Yes. I love that series. But I'm burned out on alot of others so there are very few sequels that could stir any emotion within me.
It would be a good time to show last guardian imo. Or at the vgasThe Order 1886 Gameplay and ....Last Guardian!!
UC4 I cannot see here, will be VGA awards, and then a couple of fresh Indie Games.
God Of War 4
Nope. TLG needs the biggest show of the year. I want to see Tretton with the smuggest face of his life introducing Ueda on stage. It would be a good time to show last guardian imo. Or at the vgas

If you think about it, Sony had a development studio for the entire PS3 cycle that didn't launch 1 game. Incredible mismanagement.
Not studio, team.
Japan Studio works very in a very modular fashion, basically devs shuffle around different creative teams as and when needed, and once pre-production is done, then do the 'grunt workforce' crunch out the game in full-production. There's no situation where hundreds of devs are basically wasting their time for 5 years on a vapourware.
Granted, Team Ueda/ICO is seen as the flagship team in Japan Studio, so yeah.
Really?
Gamescom:
pre-Gamescom : "insiders were saying that there was going to be no megatons at this event, it's been pushed back. Everyone supposedly said their expectations were kept low."
Gamescom : Showed off the UI, announced more media features, and launch countries. Announced 7 first-party exclusives, and around 10+ indies that were coming to PS4 first. There was a good amount of product stuff, and game stuff.
Reaction : Indieshit, indieshit, indiestation, PS4 has nogaems, fucking Sony and fucking indies. Indies are not games, they're NEGATIVE games.
TGS:
pre-TGS : "It's TGS LOL. Expect. Nothing. At. All."
TGS : Sony announced 17 games coming to PS3/4/Vita. Games like Yakuza, IDOLM@STER, Lily Bergamo, Danganronpa, EDF, Phantasy Star, Gravity Daze 2. Announced PSVita TV. Announced more 2013 launch countries.
Reaction: TGS sucked, no TLG, Demon Souls 2, Persona 5. Hurr hurr Sony.
It seems to me that despite 'not having any expectations' whatsoever, a lot of people apparently get disappointed despite there being a lot of stuff coming out of these events.
It's an hour long.

Unfortunately, the description isn't clickable. I'd like to see what it says past "exclusive world..."
Not an inaccurate statement. But people on the internet lie about being able to keep their expectations in check. And then, at least half the people here won't be happy with reveals until they get TLG.
"Premieres". Plural, because grammar. Expect at least two, possibly three new games then. My wishlist would be Naughty Dog, something interesting from Epic, and the new Rocksteady game.

Hopefully all at once or else it's not a party.
I bet we see a lot of 15 second teasers that end with "tune into the VGA's for the full trailer"
You know premieres also doesn't mean big big games. It could be smaller devs again as well.
Theres probably definitely one big announcement, but the others? I wouldn't get hyped.
When is the last time we've seen Fortnite anyway? I haven't kept up with the game, what's the latest video/dev diary/whatever on that score?

I totally agree with you, but when you look at it from a business perspective, and growing the PS4 console userbase, Sony HAS to have one of its big hitters coming soon to the new system. Uncharted 4 is a big name, from some of Sony's most talented developers, and would make the most sense in trying to get people to jump on purchasing a PS4.
Assuming the game would look ridiculous, it would make for incredible eye candy when promoting the system, especially in commercials. Plus, with Xbox One pushing a new Halo next fall, Sony needs a big name in the pipelines.
Another Warhawk game would be amazing. This event kinda reminds me of that one 360 event Microsoft hason MTV all those years back during launch.I dream of a Warhawk sequel, I know StarHawk was a bomb but if they can get back to what made Warhawk great I think they can get more fans back
