Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Currently re-downloading PS All Stars because I lost it during the migrate to the new card, that will leave me with ~200mb free. I think I will put all of the PSP games I rarely play back onto the 32gb card. I'll need to make room for Tearaway soon anyhow. Still got a ways off before hitting the 100 bubble limit though, I guess that's something. Everything is digital except for DJ Max.

<screens>

Must take you a while to find what you want like that! So many goodies, thanks for uploading!

Btw - wipeout pure dlc, saw it on your list - incase you dont have them.

*check the readme if you have issues

Update your firmwares (v3 ps4 stuff and friends app), buy tearaway

The lack of bubble organization in those shots gave me a nosebleed.

I really need a 64 gb card. Might have to import one if we don't get a US launch date soon.

Shame, don't think Pure works on Vita in the US.

And also, I'll put up a screenshot of the games I have on my 64GB soon.

EDIT: Apparently firmware 3.00 requires a CMA update that isn't on the actual CMA site yet.

Sucks :/

Please do upload them!

My CMA updated as soon as my Vita restarted (while plugged into my macbook, with CMA running).
Actually I remember last time I had to update it this way as well, wasn't on the site.

It won't let me! Downloaded the thing 3 times through the prompt that comes up and it still won't let me hook my Vita to my PC.

Nevermind, it did it THAT time.

Hmm not sure - unless you mean like a patch? It doesn't patch update CMA, need to exit it before running the installer it downloads...at least on mac anyway.

-ah okay good, weird :S

--oh yeah your recent tower defense, Castlestorm video will be up, will watch that now!

So 2 more utility apps counting towards the 100 app limit eh? One that I'll never use (parental controls) and one that I won't be able to use for a long time (PS4 remote play).

That's annoying. That's also two apps that don't fit into the already full apps/utilities bubbles I have (2 folders, 10 apps in each). Now they can just sit down there on page 2 with Welcome Park I guess.

Vita TV owners are lucky. They don't have Welcome Park taking up space.

If you can delete the PlayStation Store on PS3, I should be able to delete Welcome Park. I got all the trophies too.

Honestly, it would be nice if we can delete any app except for a few exceptions such as Settings and PS Store. If we want one of the stock apps back, we should be able to just download it again from a special section in the Store.

Apple really needs to do this too.

I wouldn't even care if you couldn't delete them as long as they let you hide them. Welcome Park haunted me for the longest time until I was able to tuck it away in a folder after that one update.

By the way, those are all digital. I don't keep a card in my Vita unless I need to because it takes up another bubble.

No folders?

WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS?!

I know. As messy as it is now, I like it more than with those ugly folders.

Thanks. I used to have it all on my Go, didn't know it worked on Vita. Puma car FTW.

I like how even Sony hides Welcome Park in the 3.00 video.

No problem! All the goodies are there including the extra music and ships.

The first time I transferred them there were no issues. When I did the backup, it didn't work. I had to delete and re-transfer from the zip file. I have a feeling it's because it renamed it to lower case. Anyway, if you have the same issue, transfer the main packs in the order it mentions.

It will freeze when you load the game up, and if you go into standby/pause state - loads it from memory.

It was free dlc (unlike Pulse), it worked via save files so it's a bit weird like that. Very much worth it though :)

Pulse DLC works too but you have to buy it. All are available on the store here in EU except for the mirage pack, which has to be transferred from PS3 or that Sony media go program, which works according to the wipeoutboards (which is where the dlc link came from).

Very nice collection indeed! I would have thought Angry Birds would have been retail but then again, if you're buying it anyway, might as well enjoy it properly :)

If you haven't played FFIX before you DEFINITELY should be playing that. Asap. Seriously.

Is the PSP powerstone collection not on the US store, think it was on sale or something in the EU.

Thank you, Sony.
I love my new useless firmware that does nothing for me aside from adding another 2 apps I will never use (maybe PS4 link someday... maybe).

What a disappointment.

Power Stone is on the store, and I have played it. Not a fan of the gameplay. Bit confusing.

I played up until the airship crash in FFIX and just lost interest, then somehow managed to lose the memory card file and I couldn't be arsed spending 2+ hours to get back to where I was.

^ did you jump straight into powerstone 2? It's pretty hectic but Powerstone 1 has such fun and simple gameplay even against computer AI! Would be worth another try sometime imo.

The airship crash...I only played the game once but the the whole game was rich in charm, I felt like I was exploring different cultures with the different towns, each with its own fantastic and unique atmosphere. Excellent soundtrack as well.

Of course I was a lot younger when I played it but it's my favourite and as soon as I finish 7 (kept re-starting like 5 times as took breaks and forgot the plot. Furthest I got was the vampire area...spooky :P) I'm heading straight back to it. Not sure how far into the game the airship crash was but I don't want to spoil it for myself by looking it up :P

It might have dragged on at times like all final fantasy games at times. Gotta find that motivation to plough through I guess. Hard with so many games to play these days, not been able to sit with an rpg for a while. Hopefully soon.

Thank you, Sony.

Lol dude, friends app loads fast now!
Have a go with the Panorama app (tomorrow when the loud clicking sound won't wake everyone up).
Internet browser got a boost. Seems like they fixed the downloading store bug.

They definitely need to upp the dumb limit though, that's a big problem with these silly apps you can't delete/hide.

Taking panoramas with the Vita camera? You're a brave man.

It's fugly but still. Motion controlled, and a backup :) Might be okay outside.

Decent options as well. I was in bed in low light when I tried it so the results weren't excellent but not bad.

I don't have much memory about what I did play. I think I went straight into Power Stone's arcade-y mode? It's a shame that game didn't have RPG elements or a sort of thing like the Abyss in BlazBlue to give it more longevity.

That would have been fantastic! It was pretty great with multiplayer though, seriously good fun with the whacky items and sega sounds. Swinging around and smacking people with poles. Lots of great characters too.

Tbh it's hard to recommend older fighters these days anyway, lots of great ones to play and I'm looking forward to Injustice and DBZ too, but it's still pretty special I reckon.

Takao, in DBZ can you move around the map quite a bit in 3D or is it a rather restricted 2D? Looks awesome but I'd love to move around like in the anime!

How could you Carl.

Tbh, a lot of us had played the psp version already, some pretty recently and so a cosmetic* upgrade would only do so much. Good that it's going to steam, nice they brought it to Vita first.

*they added touchscreen controls for the teleporting, which apparently improved things a lot too.

meh psp port

It does confirm my suspicion that these indie games are not doing as well as we're led to believe.

Why would that be the reasoning? If I was a developer I would be looking to push my game onto as many different platforms as possible regardless of success on a single platform.

I'm with the anti-folder people. I just don't like the look of them, but I still organize them by pages.

Sony has done a great job with the vita FW updates... very impressed

I'll never be satisfied until we get uncompressed wallpapers. Until then I can't stand using any wallpapers

*sigh* that's a slap in the face

I remember saying to someone trying to get them to understand the 100 app limit, by saying something like imagine if you couldn't delete Home on PS3... shit I didn't even know you can delete the store.

Also, on Velocity Ultra... maybe now it'll get some decent play out there. Like how Demon's Souls might as well not exist since it never came to 360 & PC.

I just woke up and seems update 3.0 is live.
Anyone's Vita get bricked yet?
Did they remove folders?
Are the Crash games Vita compatible now for US PSN members?
Are there any more PSP or PSX games that can be played on the Vita now?

Nevermind. Nailed it. It's not like Sony is telling them they can't. And then we have stuff like this.

^ I thought your avatar looked familiar, looking now

The impossible game, already have it but I don't think I played it!

evil! fair warning though

love the soundtrack, rated

first level - 251 attempts (practice of course) really enjoying it, trying the original one now

:P

What about "prepare to download" issue?
Since I haven't encountered that issue myself beforehand I can't judge whether that is fixed or not.

I wouldn't even care if you couldn't delete them as long as they let you hide them. Welcome Park haunted me for the longest time until I was able to tuck it away in a folder after that one update.

Yeah even that would be great. Should be like the Android Home screen with an App drawer.

Made a video for PocketStation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoH9r6xYb38

It's worth pointing out that this isn't an app; it's more of an emulator that you download for PSX titles with PocketStation support (meaning if you don't have any, there is nothing you can actually do with it). As such, there is probably no way it will come out West, as only a game or two kept their PocketStation support intact.

The friendslist is finally not a reloading and reshiffling mess. Sadly, the app limit is still not raised and we got 2 more bubbles. One of them totally useless for most of the Vitabros.

I'm confused as to how a game going onto steam is a sign either positively or negatively about sales.

Ain't no party like a Takao party cuz a Takao party...Vita already dead!

I didn't think of that. I'm already at the 100 limit so that kind of screws me over... I was really hoping Sony would just remove (or at least up) the limit as its a real annoyance. It's not like I cant clear a few retail games I've completed off the vita to free up space but I shouldn't have to. Did Sony explain the reasoning behind the 100 app limit? I'd be interested to know why they did this.
