PlayStation 4 All Access on 11/14 - 11pm EST on Spike + Live Stream

But the megatons are for the people that didn't preorder it and make them go "DAYUM, why didn't I preorder? I better buy one asap".

Well, maybe, but I'm not convinced of that. Most people will not pick up a PS4 until it's at a mass market price. I think we have at least 100-150 dollars to go before that begins to happen. I think this program is more for the hardcore gamer and it is going to justify the purchase even more.

I know, I started it, and expected there to be an intro or something so I looked away for a second and missed everything. Wait, what? lol

Dat avatar tho....

While we are at it, can I get a Socom 2 remake and a Rollcage sequel. Thanks! Check is in the mail.

Playstation 1 nostalgia hit.

Bushido Blade. I'd even buy a move controller if they announced this shit!

I'm sure this has been brought up, but out of curiousness, I checked my cable to see what the next GTTV episode was (due to anticipation of next week's event). It looks like tomorrow's episode is sort of their XB1 episode, as well as a Nintendo preview (I think Geoff tweeted something about this): Here is the info: "An exclusive look at the Xbox One launch titles Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3. Also: a stop at Nintendo to preview Mario and Zelda Games." As of now it seems that XB1 is not getting a special like the PS4 is. Perhaps tomorrow's episode is the closest thing to it.

John Koller (head of hardware marketing) is teasing major announcements at it too

So should be some exciting stuff, by the sound of it.

If I wasn't excited/expecting new big Sony reveals from this event, I am now. Multiple Sony employees publicly hyping up "major" game reveals at this event? It's on. I fully expect one AAA title, and maybe a few indies. I wonder what the big one will be?

The VGAs last year drew a .19 overnight rating. A 3am rerun of George Lopez on Nick at Night doubled the ratings of the VGA. Not that I think this PS4 launch is going to do any better but the idea that they need save reveals for VGA like that show matters at all is laughable. Nobody at sitting at home Friday night waiting for the Uncharted 4 trailer.

I wonder how much of a crossover there is between wrestling nerds and videogame nerds (outside of the hardcore internet ones of course). Impact's the highest rated show on Spike, so it as a lead-in might push it over the VGAs. Maybe not though, it doesn't really matter.

Megatons for an event of this timing serves many purposes, but if we're talking about a sales advantage with hardcore gamers, then there is one notable potential.

To get XB1 buyers to 'CANCELLING MY PREORDER.'

iirc Geoff announced the PS4 Launch special at the end of the Killzone episode they recently did. So maybe they'll announce the same for xbox on thursday night's episode.

This is for an American audience. An RPG seems very unlikely.
Yea... it's Spike. I highly doubt we're gonna get a JRPG or anything. It will probably be a third person shooter/character action game. I still hope they reserve the Uncharted 4 announcement for VGAs, since we already know it's coming. I'd be pretty bummed if the only big game announced at the launch event is Uncharted 4, and we just get a new trailer at VGAs with no additional game reveals.

Almost no one will be able to catch this live. If preorder numbers are true, people will be waiting in line until 3 a.m. the night of launch. People will be able to catch the VGAs live.

Maybe not in the US but the rest of the world will def be tuning in. I know I will... even though it'll be 4-5 in the am when I do. ¬_¬

Pretty sure it will be on tablets/smartphones in the launch queues. Hopefully some nice retailers may put it on the TV in the window for you :-)

I think it would have been better if it had been on a couple of hours earlier, but maybe Spike couldn't do that.

Most likely GameStop will be airing it on their big screens, so if you got yours from them you're probably good. In my case it's from Wal-Mart so I'm kinda boned, but I doubt I'll pick it up before my birthday anyways.

I've seen so many crazy wishlists in this thread ... just go with a wipeout 2097 remake on disk, bundled with a negCon controller for ps4 sony plz.

Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere, just don't have time to check everything now but details have gone up on the SCEE blog now.

Are you sure he's not just being honest?

I'm 100% sure he's trolling. This is just what he says when people ask him about surprises. That DeAndre guys last reply is one of disappointment because he now thinks that they won't show anything during the show. So when they do it's actually a surprise to him.

Are you sure he's not just being honest?

I agree. The only other hint is from SCEE:

2014 and beyond? Maybe a new announcement? Or could just be words.

I'm gonna hype regardless , but I suspect Yoshida is telling the truth , there is nothing to gain from saying ''No'' at this stage.

Are you sure he's not just being honest?

I don't think so. Geoff + other Sony execs seem to be teasing big announcements.
