You can't gift it. Fine print writing says it's only for the account that receives the code.

Pretty disappointed I didn't recieve the e-mail. I've been a Xbox Live member since the original beta test. Having a Xbox One preordered and being a paying member for 10+ years doesn't make a me a loyal customer I don't know what is.

It's almost impossible to figure out to the algorithm for these mass giveaways. I got $10 from Sony in their giveaway, and have no clue why.

Guessing Gamerscore was the major factor. I have about 6 years of Gold but am no longer a Gold member, >150k Gamerscore, no XOne preorder at all and I got the free game email.
