New division of sony. Its like third party relation, but they can also involved in production like actually port games to sony platform or localization of jp games. I believe the recent flood of indie games on vita has somethijg to do with this new division. Many indie gamea on vita are not actually ported by the original indie dev, but they are ported by other studio which I'm guessing is helped arranged by sony.
 
As long as it's not Unreal Tournament, I'm fine with whatever it is. I actually don't mind Gears. It'd be nice if they can remodel some of the characters' faces though. Some of them are borderline scary.

I don't even think Epic Games' new game will even be a PlayStation exclusive. It'll probably be like what Sony is doing with Bungie's "Destiny". It'll be a multiplatform game, but Sony will have exclusive DLC/Content & marketing for the game.

Unless Sony gets a good deal, Sony's not gonna be moneyhatting 3rd-party exclusive games like Microsoft, when it'll be just cheaper to make their own 1st & 2nd-party AAA exclusive games.
 
Gears of War on PS4 would be monumental! 1080P/60fps trilogy??? I'm not going to get excited and blindly hype up this event. Hell for all we know it's probably a port of Bulletstorm :p.

Some games are worth the price for even something like mind share. Especially at launch of next gen.
 
If its an HD Gears I'll be utterly disappointed. What's the point of porting over a years old Xbox exclusive to the PS4? I rather see a new IP that takes advantage of next gen hardware.
 
Epic has been way too quiet this gen.

Really hoping they blow us away like they did with Gears back in 2006.

Didn't some insider drop that Sony had some third party exclusive bombs? I don't expect it will be from Epic, but they're probably up for grabs.
 
I finally looked up "Fortnite". Why is the game ONLY being released to PC?! It should at least be released as a PSN/XBLA game.

Makes no sense because Sony could spend that money internally with their studios. It's either a new Gears or a new multi-platform IP that will be showcased on PS4. Anytime anything is considered to be a third-party exclusive, statistically speaking, it's probably not.

Tbh I'm expecting a simple 1080p30fps Gears collection with absolutely nothing added and very little effort along side a new multiplat IP.
Though not necessarily on the 14th though.

Microsoft published the Gears games....they dont own the IP, but I think they have rights to those particular games in the franchise.

I doubt it's a Gears collection.

Has to be a new entry or a new IP
 
My reaction would simply be "Not bad..." It would be nice. But Gears 1 would be better. Gears 1 being remade would make a loooooooot of people happy. Epic needs that good will back. After the cluster fuck that was Judgement. Oh boy. Gears 1 would make up for that tenfold.

Third-Party exclusive's aren't suppose to make sense? It's a practice that amounts to trading on futures at best, your playing the long game essentially.

Personally I agree with you. but gears of war is not just any IP especially in West. And seeing how aggressively sony is going after west, with western heavy launch games and first ever west launch and reveal before japan.

they lost marketing and DLC to bf4 which they had for in ps3 and already not having cod marketing and DLC, and Titanfall . they must be eyeing on something to counter that. Because that is even less 3rd party FPS support than ps3.

3rd party exclusive do make sense at start of GEN because install base is small and probably not much money needed, unlike latter in gen. See what happened to MS.

Technically speaking I have gears on PC. so you can already play it on 1080p with 60fps

Mass Effect also ended up on PS3 sooo... it's not out of the question.

I'd much rather get a new Epic IP than Gears tbh, let it die with this gen.

Totally agree, just not initially. Business side I mean. Well now that I think about it, they don't really either later on mostly just where Epic is concerned though. Gears deal for instance, surely cost them many fortunes over. So makes perfect sense second time around to secure PC base.

Hell yea. MP in gears 1 was sooo much more intense/fun compared to any of the games in the series
 
Sony's not going to bankroll any big 3rd party exclusives, that's not what they do.

Now that I think about it, it seems less likely that it is Gears. If epic was working on a huge project, it would be that new vgleaks Samaritan/Infiltrator game. They would most likely only focus on one big budget game, which would be that.
