It's sorta true though. You'll see when you actually try playing Smash with a single, cheap substitute for an analog stick.

I prefer a gimped control scheme, which is somewhat workable than wasting over £200-£250 for it. As a student, I cannot ever justify that price.

I'm a student and I managed it. Without a job and all.
But then again, I can live off of £14 worth of food a week and be happy with it.
Yea, even when playing Melee or Brawl, the Gamecube controller really had to feel a certain way for me to get comfortable. Like, I can't explain it, but in competitive play, it makes a huge difference. When I'm casually playing with friends I couldn't give less of a shit. (for Melee I preferred a loose analog stick, for Brawl I preferred a tight one)
Idk if bring your own controller tournaments are that way for that very reason, but it'd make a lot of sense. I really can't see myself getting just one version though. One for the portability, and one for the overall experience. Thanks Nintendo!

I agree so much with this. Generally I prefer a tight analog stick, but when it comes to Smash I need a looser one to pull off different combos and such. I too am stoked that we're getting two versions; portable Smash is going to be amazing. The controls for the 3DS version will be serviceable, I'm sure, but for serious play I will stick to the console version.

Marth is way too regal for that swine speak.
I really love the effects of the game. All the air cutting, slides, forces-fields and now this counter-effect. It makes the moves look faster, stronger and much better then in Brawl.

For what it's worth, every character on the site who was revealed after the initial E3 announcement has an addendum at the bottom of their page that says "Want to know more about ______? Then be sure to check out the website for [new game]!" No two characters direct to the same website. For instance, Luigi directs to M&L: Dream Team while Peach directs to SM3DW even though both characters could obviously direct to the latter. So far, no character directs us to DK Tropical Freeze or A Link Between Worlds. Based on that, I think a character from one of those series is next to be revealed.
