Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Second thing, I have insanely huge hands - most handhelds feel awkward, and with vita's back touchscreen the issue is even more prominent. Due to that, I usually buy a grip such as this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006LM2Y5A/

Has anyone used their vita with a grip? Does it make the console less awkward to use? Any grips you'd recommend?

I have that grip, I think (US version). Seems to do the job well. It has a very smooth and satiny texture, but it's not slippery.

Those two shadow monsters are the Three Little Pigs and Hansel & Gretel, the history is what`s yet to be revealed.

Also there is a link with over 60 improvements on the game (one of them according to google) are the graphics. NICE!!

DAY 0 for me
Oh, I didn't know that. The stories should be interesting though. Thanks for the link too, it should help for my eventual OT. Now if we could find someone to translate it...

EDF isn't bad at all. Not being able to reload manually is a little odd, and there are minor annoyances (I really wish the pickups were coloured differently on the HUD) but overall it seems a lot of fun.

Turned off touch screen, moved jump to X and aim to L and tweaked the sensitivity and it controls really well.

Proper cheesy ass dialogue and team banter though. I loved calling the alien guests "Ravagers" before making contact as well. :p

Also, production values (menus seem ripped straight from the PSP) aren't great.

In short I can almost immediately understand why some people love it and some hate it.

I hate it when my posts don't ever make a second line

I always have a hori screen protector as well.

I bought CastleStorm, my ID is the same as my name here. Haven't played beyond the first level though.

Sending over a friend request as soon as it lets me, I think due to psn maintenance I get the friendsapp error.

I'm surprised you stopped after the first level though, already had it on x360?

It is for me! Maybe just because I enjoy it quite a lot but I've been playint for hours yesterday, the game has a trial too.

I'm surprised Mega Drive Ultimate Collection didn't also get a PSP port when it came out. I'd pay good money for that collection or a third MD collection to make it to Vita.

Same, even better with crisp visuals fo vita. I hope they're at least still open to it.

sorry can figure out how to copy and paste with the vita

I hate how people try to justify skipping 999. It's like jumping into The Two Towers without seeing/reading The Fellowship of the Ring. You lose a ton of character development and you don't get to experience twists in two games instead of one. Every time I mention it on the subreddit people tell me to shut up, and say I don't know what I'm talking about.

Eh, I disagree. It's a little less direct than that. It's more like reading Fellowship of the Ring without having read The Hobbit first. You'll enjoy it more having read The Hobbit, but it isn't critical to your understanding of the story.

So... apart from the grip. Are there any "must have" accessories?

Highly recommend this case, it's quite small and innocuous looking, but very protective. It has little slots for a few games and an upper are you can shove your earbuds into, very portable and compact. Cheap too!

Really have been enjoying Hotline Miami on the vita. The controls are a bit wonky at first but luckily the game eases you into the action and makes the transition from death to retrying incredibly painless. I had trouble putting it down before going to work this morning, hah.

I've read to part 3 and now it's super confusing again because the author is referencing things he knows but hasn't talked about in the article (which I kind of understand from the generic impressions I was able to take from the wikipedia plot summary)... ugh.

Like when it starts talking about previous nonary games... what previous nonary game?

The PSP Genesis Collection is a Backbone port, I want to play Sonic 1 and 2 as much as the next guy but after seeing how fantastic the iOS ver. of Sonic 1 has become, I'd rather drop $5 on that ver. getting released for Vita.

I have marked your post. I'll read it later.

DAY 0 for me

Can someone make an small summary with the most important improvements? :D

And, graphics? Would those PS1 textures be gone? The Vita doesn't deserve PS1 neither N64 games ¬¬ xD.

And do we now something about the story? It's the same story with more chapters, and epilogue, or did they tell you what happens to you after you left Magusar's prision?

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. The two Vita games (Soul Sacrifice and Oddworld) should be going free in the last two weeks of the month.

Dragon's Dogma is actually pretty cool. I started playing with the warrior and didn't like the game so much. But after I started a new game with the Strider... I'm loving it :)

I have a 1985 edition of the Hobbit too :P

No, playing it on the Vita is my first time experiencing the game. Just got interrupted while playing and did something else afterwards. Also, my before bed gaming time is reserved for Device 6 on iOS right now. Such a great game and I hope the developer Simogo follows up on their interest to work on a Vita game. The Vita Unity support is still not out, is it?

*snickers*

Ahhh Japan... I forgot the multitudes fetishes you guys have.

I think my Vita is fucked.

Picked it up to play some Lone Survivor last night, but it was dead. Thought it was odd as I was sure I had a full battery, but charged it over night anyway. Checked this morning, fully charged. Just got on the train after a full day of work however and it won't turn on again. Just no response or life whatsoever. No coloured lights, no screen flicker.. nothing. I've held the power button for several minutes but nothing.

Anyone experienced similar? Any clues?

So I can't wirelessly connect to my PC with The Content Manager App. Does anybody know what the problem is?

First thing that comes to mind is a generic LAN issue, like say if network isolation is toggled on on the router.
Is it just the Vita? Can you connect with that PC from other devices, like file sharing with it or network printing?

Looks pretty interesting, don't think Unity for Vita is out yet but not sure, can't wait for that.

No joy, but cheers anyway.

As luck would have it I'm away from my charger until Monday, but next time I charge it I'm going to keep an eye on the power and keep checking the Vita to see if and when it keeps powering down. If it's not holding charge properly I'd at least like to know for how long and why. Ugh..

I'm planning on getting a 16gb card for most of my vita use and using my 8gb card as an overflow for things that won't fit on it, are there any major drawbacks to such a set up?

I only have a 16gb one and I'm not having big problems. So I don't think so.

Hmm very annoying if that's the case. If it's out of warranty it would be worth checking with Sony first but I bet they will overcharge for repairs. Second hand vita may be cheaper. Worst comes to worst the battery doesn't seem impossible to replace manually.

If you are planning to use two cards it's a bit more hassle, better to get one bigger card imo but more expensive of course. Not sure if icon arrangement is forgotten between switches on the same account but just physically swapping the memory card is a hassle for me, they made them so tiny and delicate, same with the games.

Ive been playing Sine Mora and I have decided that I hate the garbage level. Totally hate it. Games where its not one touch death should not revert to some kind of one touch death 1/2 through the game... yes, im being a baby about me sucking at the game.

I got stuck on that for a while (and recently read a few people who went through the same) but I moved on and it's a pretty awesome game.

Use the anologue sticks for that, don't move ahead or lag behind the junk, stay in the middle and especially don't cross the sensor lines.

It was really annoying playing it the first few times though, more than necessary. Doing that section now isn't so worrying though.

Welp, picked up Super Stardust Delta... fun and challenging game. I suck at it but not frustrating or BS deaths like some games.

I really need to stop buying games and finish the ones I have though. :-/

I haven't seen a global setting (unless you put it in airplane mode then the game really shouldn't ask to connect). There is a shortcut to turn it on since one of the recent firmwares - hold the PS button for a few seconds and the connectivity options are at the top.

IIRC KZ:M asks how you want to default. Although it sounds like a different game if it's popping up during gameplay? :S

Airplane mode might be the way forward, switching between that and wifi. Thanks. :)

Yeah, pops up randomly in some games. FIFA for example, not sure what sets it off. Some kind of update check maybe.

This sounds so cool. Let's make it our official call to arms. :)
