Every album you mentioned is absolutely blown away by Yeezus.Yeah, Yeezus was good. But then NWTS, MNIMN and MMLP2 were released. They are all better albums and make Yeezus obsolete.

Though I hate their rap reviews typically, Pitchfork panning this album is a good thing, because at least somebody told the truth. There are some good tracks here, but as a whole this albums is just not good.
That Guy With The Glasses's Rap Critic does an MMLP retrospective/MMLP2 review.
He, mostly owing to the run from the Ken Kannif skit to the end of the album, excepting Kim, dragging it down. I don't disagree that the album is good, and that it serves pretty well as a followup to the original rather than just using the name as a sales gimmick, but I wonder if he'd be quite so kind to it without the launch hype.actually rates the sequel higher than the original

If I recall correctly, he also gave Recovery a good review.

It is crazy, it is almost as if music is subjective.
In terms of videos he's put up on the site pretty sure he's only done a Just Lose It review and a Ten Worst Eminem Songs where he seems pretty down on post-2002 Eminem generally.
I wish Groundhog Day was on the album. I want more Eminem songs like that.
yup...I don't get Yeezus love here either...Trashy Trash is what I say, but that's the beauty of music...here's my mini-review of the album...nothing surpasses The Way I am or Renegade for "favorite" em song, but there was some very very close ones on the album. He's still got it, just have to get a bit more coherency with lyrica/beats/production IMO..I think if you take out both extremes, the stans and those who are not into Eminem, you will find a pretty solid project. The best material Eminem has put out since TES/8MILE. And if you already enjoy Em and the things he raps about or his style in general you will find a lot of little details and callbacks to his earlier work.
I rated it a 7/10 only because I think the lows are super low and unnecessary, but overall the standout tracks really hit the spot. Could have been a 8.-8.5 out of 10 project for me personally if the bonus tracks were mixed in over some of the actual tracks on the album.
But who knows you might hate it. No way to get a consensus on music. I know a lot of people like Yeezus a lot, even consider the AOTY but besides a song and a half I can't get into it.
Maybe Em should have fashioned it as a double album with 10 tracks on each disk. I am sure he recorded more than 30 tracks.
A song like Don't Front doesn't even make sense as a COD bonus exclusive because its a real cool callback to old school rap with Buckshot yet I doubt the COD crowd would appreciate it. Survival fit but Don't Front? Who the hell makes these decisions?
EDIT ok...so just finished up, and listed all the tracks I think are worth listening to...only a few duds IMO, very lyrical album, not much for the radio outside of Berzerk, the Monster, and Rap God just to show his lyrical prowess. He has some very strong lyrical hits here, but I feel there's more to make a song, and Em is still somewhat lacking in controlling his strong vocabulary and stop n' go skill to be more coherent with the beats. But surprisingly, there are some really strong beats here with amazing hooks that might surprise many fans. Here's my top songs, what I feel are adequate in not only lyrics, but presentation and flow. Not in order...
Beautiful Pain
So Much Better
Rhyme or Reason
Wicked Ways
Legacy
Survival
Evil Twin
Rap God (track needs to be cut IMO over 6mins with no hook lol)
Now, this is not that the other tracks aren't great, but I feel either his lyrical skills save the day or the humor wins out, as there aren't as coherent or focused as these 8. Still some very unique tracks in the remainder of the album. Berzerk is a tribute to rap of yesteryear and Bad Guy is another track worth lyrical praise, but goes a bit off the wall towards the end and loses coherency IMO but if you listen to it like a fan, you'll catch all sorts of brilliance. Still think it could've been done better.. tracks I didn't mention like So Far are just trashy, but thankfully there's only 3 or so on the delux album, mostly everything you listen too once and can play the album from start to finish.
Well there ya go. After loving Drake's latest album, and finally feeling like he's giving up on being some lyrical beast and is embracing his singing/melody style in full force, has found his stride. Out of 15 tracks, I feel you can let it ride, with very few duds in 305 is my City and Connect. His strongest lyrical tracks (Pound Cake Tuscan Leather) pale in comparison to Em's weakest, but his song coherency has been exceptional with his mixture of melodies and rap. Two very different albums, but both should find great success this year, and are great examples of the diversity in rap.
Above all, Eminem remains the lyrical king, look forward to his next album, where he shouldn't feel as threatened or challenged in his position, and should likely focus on more beats/melody to his track list which would make for a much more radio friendly album.
The album's growing on me, though I'm disappointed that only one other rapper appeared. What the crap.

I'm okay with this.
Plenty of albums recently have been too reliant on having too many collaborations.

^^
Should it be lower or higher?!
Lower, for me. It's like a two, two and a half star track at best. I don't mind Em singing, I liked Hailey's Song back on Eminem Show and it's okay when he does it on some hooks. I just don't know what the hell was going on with Stronger Than I Was, though. Doesn't make sense in the context of the album, or even just generally as a song from Em. At the very least, I wouldn't put it on the level of Survival and Asshole.
Different people like different things at different levels though, so if you were into it on some level that's cool.

Glad to see so many high ratings in there. I'm downloading the album right now. I know I like rap god and monster, if rap god isn't the best thing on the album, I'll consider this one damn good.
You'll be in for a treat then. Rap God is good but definitely middle-tier compared to some of the other tracks.
Damn, I really liked Bad Guy once I understood what was going on.
Ya listened to Stan then bad guy right after, made me enjoy it even more.Damn, I really liked Bad Guy once I understood what was going on.
Agree fully with this list lol. But I agree most with something you mentioned before. I know all then words to every Eminem song from TES and before. Yet I don't really know many at all after that. Actually I know a bunch from encore as well and s tiny bit in relapse. But after that it's like nothing and I attribute it to the start and stop style. After a few days, this is the optimal tracklist with the music provided.
1. Bad Guy
2. Parking Lot (Skit)
3. Rhyme or Reason
4. So Much Better
5. Rap God
6. Brainless
7. the chorus on "So Far..." Yes only the chorus, repeated 3 times. Like an Interlude
8. Headlights (not because I like the song, but because of the message)
9. Evil Twin
10. Baby
11. Groundhog Day
12. Wicked Ways
That's a decent album. Like a good 2004 tier Eminem mixtape or something.
That's my rating and I'm sticking to it.

What song do you guys think has the best hook?
I'm going for So Much Better. That shit's straight out of the Eminem Show era.
That last verse of Bad Guy is absolutely incredible.
My bad, didn't see that video in a quick scan of his reviews for the site. Still, half the video is about Lil' Wayne's verse and the rest is "Em's verses on this song are good, so I decided to buy the CD", not commentary on the whole album. Bit like saying someone liked Encore 'cause they heard Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird (which are both quality tracks for my money).
Though to be honest I didn't even listen to Recovery so I can't comment on that.

Legacy, So Far..., Headlights, Brainless, Wicked Ways and most of all Bad Guy are the fastest ones growing on me so far.
I'm entirely sure, but this is my rank as of now: MMLP > TES > MMLP2 > Recovery > Encore > SSLP > Relapse
(Yeah, I actually love Encore - and Relapse being the last one means little to nothing to me, I still love it, mostly thanks to Refill)
