On my way home for my 3 day weekend!
I merely want waluigi simply because I want a mario and luigi vs wario and waluigi match up.
But even waluigi has more personality than Villager.
But to each their own. I for one would kick villager in an heartbeat in favor of another FE representative. Not to mention wii fit trainer which is a goddamn bad joke when it's known that we will probably see someone getting axed.

Understand this concept:
Slots don't exist. Characters either get in, or they don't because of reasons. There is no allotted number of characters and the developers decide to fill them up.

And wasn't sure where to put this, but I had some time to kill. Started trying to think about how a Chrom + Lucina pair could work out, but got distracted in my own musings. So, started thinking about how Anna could work in the context of Smash. Managed to half-bake some thoughts around the 'flighty trickster' and merchant idea. I suppose I'd imagine Anna as representative of FE as a whole? Anyways, here's some special move ideas I thought up.
Special Neutral: Reaches into her bag and throws a weapon ahead of her as a projectile. This generally means either a Sword, Axe, or Javelin, chosen randomly. Axes move slower but hit harder, Javelins move faster but aren’t as powerful, and Swords are the happy medium. However, there’s a random (if slim) chance that Anna will throw a ‘special’ item. These items are:
Gold Bullion: Hits with Mario's Coin Punch effect on contact.
Sol Katti: Incredibly fast, not much damage, but can KO at medium-high percentages.
Armorslayer: Low damage, medium speed, if it hits someone guarding, it triggers Shield Break.
Ragnell: A little slower than a vanilla sword, but much higher flat damage and above-average knockback.
Sword of Seals: About as fast as a vanilla Sword, but explodes on contact, dealing a fair amount of splash damage (plus flame effect) to anyone in the vicinity with fairly high knockback.
Reginleif: Slightly homes in on the nearest target.
Vulnerary: After its’ thrown (dealing tremendously miniscule damage to whatever connects), anyone can pick it up for a quick 5% recovery.
Pokeball: How did this get in here?
Some other stuff? Good opportunity for cross-franchise references is what I thought.
You can hold Special to ‘rummage’ through the bag, near-guaranteeing one of these ‘special’ throws.
Special Side: Anna pulls out the Levin Sword, and a bolt of lightning magic leaves the sword and shoots forward in a short-ranged beam.
Special Up: Anna uses a Warp staff to send her teleporting toward the nearest platform. Anyone near the exit point gets knocked back.
Special Down: Anna sets a Reeking Box down in front of her. Three are allowed at a time, after which the oldest disappears when the next one is set down. If these Boxes aren’t tripped within twenty seconds, they disappear. When your opponents step on them or hit them, Risen or Monsters (per Sacred Stones) leap out and posture menancingly for three seconds before evaporating. While unaggressive, touching them deals a little damage and stuns for one second. They can be destroyed trivially, though.
I’m well aware how utterly uncompetitive the idea is, as an aside. Anything involving this much chance would be. And this is about the extent of my thought process, as I wasn't so much sure where to go with the rest of her moveset. I like the idea of the Side Smash being her whacking someone with her burlap sack, though. Maybe something involving the Secret Shop for a Final Smash, but I can't imagine what.

You can recognize him by his silhouette thus he is iconic, proper usage of "iconic" be damned.
